HBO Max Reveals New Campaign Spot Highlighting Upcoming Originals, Warner Bros. Streaming Exclusives, Hit Movies And More Arriving In 2022

Today HBO Max released a new campaign introducing the streamer’s unprecedented line-up for 2022, featuring highly anticipated original programming, Warner Bros. films made exclusively for HBO Max, new content from beloved DC and Wizarding World franchises, hit movies, and more. Following a year marked by groundbreaking hits, the spot signifies HBO Max’s continued commitment to deliver audiences fresh and imaginative content, featuring bold, iconic characters from the world’s best creators—all in one place.

Among the exciting line-up are new Max Original series “Peacemaker,” starring John Cena as the compellingly vainglorious character Peacemaker from “The Suicide Squad” and “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts,” a capstone event of the holiday season celebrating the anniversary of the franchise’s first film “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” along with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and other legendary cast members. New HBO Originals in the line-up include “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty,” a fast-break series chronicling the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers, one of sports’ most revered and dominant dynasties and “House of the Dragon,” telling the story of House Targaryen 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones.”

Additionally, the spot introduces Warner Bros. Streaming Exclusives, a collaboration that includes a number of films made exclusively for HBO Max. “House Party,” “Father of The Bride,” “Kimi,” “The Fallout,” “Scoob: Holiday Haunt,” and “Moonshot” are among the films set to debut throughout 2022.

From 1929 to 1931, Hal Roach’s “Our Gang” series showcasing scruffy but lovable kids was among the studio’s biggest successes in the new era of sound. But in 1932, the franchise would introduce one of the most beloved and durable members of the gang in George “Spanky” McFarland – so named because of his mother’s constant admonitions of “Mustn’t touch! Spanky, spanky!” Director James Horne, having shot a reel’s worth of test footage of the youngster (later recycled in Spanky [1932]), showed it to anyone and everyone on the Roach lot, and shortly afterward, “Spanky” made his modest debut in Free Eats (1932). HBO drama series THE NEVERS debuts Part One of its first season with six episodes beginning on SUNDAY, APRIL 11 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT). Part Two’s six episodes will follow at a later date, to be announced. The series will air on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max.

August, 1896. Victorian London is rocked to its foundations by a supernatural event which gives certain people – mostly women – abnormal abilities, from the wondrous to the disturbing. But no matter their particular “turns,” all who belong to this new underclass are in grave danger. It falls to mysterious, quick-fisted widow Amalia True (Laura Donnelly) and brilliant young inventor Penance Adair (Ann Skelly) to protect and shelter these gifted “orphans.” To do so, they will have to face the brutal forces determined to annihilate their kind.

HBO Drama Series THE NEVERS Debuts This April

HBO’s new drama series THE NEVERS will debut this April with six-episodes on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max. In the last years of Victoria’s reign, London is beset by the “Touched”: people – mostly women – who suddenly manifest abnormal abilities – some charming, some very disturbing. Among them are Amalia True (Laura Donnelly), a mysterious, quick-fisted widow, and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly), a brilliant young inventor. They are the champions of this new underclass, making a home for the Touched, while fighting the forces of… well, pretty much all the forces – to make room for those whom history as we know it has no place.

The ensemble cast also includes Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Rochelle Neil, Eleanor Tomlinson, Amy Manson, Pip Torrens, Denis O’Hare, Zackary Momoh, Elizabeth Berrington, Kiran Sawar, Anna Devlin, Viola Prettejohn, Ella Smith, Nick Frost and Ben Chaplin.

THE NEVERS is created and executive produced by Joss Whedon; executive produced by Bernadette Caulfield, Ilene S. Landress, Doug Petrie, Jane Espenson and Philippa Goslett.
