May 27, 2022 – Paramount+ today announced that the critically acclaimed series THE GOOD FIGHT will debut its sixth and final season on Thursday, Sept. 8. The Paramount+ Original series from co-creators Robert and Michelle King is currently in production in New York City.

“We’ve LOVED fighting ‘The Good Fight’ these last six seasons. To be able to tell stories about an upside-down world in real time has been a gift. And to have worked with these talented, brilliant, generous actors, writers and crew has been a blessing,” said Robert and Michelle King, series co-creators, showrunners and executive producers. “Our hope-slash-scheme is to find ways to work with all of them again in the future.”

“It’s been an extraordinary run we’ve had, from ‘The Good Wife’ to THE GOOD FIGHT. 13 years of the Kings’ brilliant writing, magnificent acting troupes led by Julianna Margulies and Christine Baranski, and massive support and partnership with CBS and Paramount+,” said Ridley Scott, executive producer. “In this day and age, where long runs are more the exception than the norm and where discerning audiences have so much choice for quality content, the success and longevity of these series are a testament to how excellent both shows were. David Zucker and I, and the entire team at Scott Free Television, could not be more grateful for this experience.”

“Thanks to the creative brilliance of Robert and Michelle King, THE GOOD FIGHT has been a marquee series for Paramount+ and a huge source of personal pride for me and our Studio,” said David Stapf, president of CBS Studios. “Robert and Michelle took the bones of their network hit, ‘The Good Wife,’ which pushed creative boundaries, and transformed it into a signature streaming series. It is a series that taps into the zeitgeist of the nation’s mindset to artistically reveal the absurdity and anxiety of a nation in transition, both culturally and politically. Their story was further elevated by the brilliant acting talents of Christine, Audra, Sarah, Michael, Nyambi, Charmaine and an amazing roster of regular and guest actors during its run. Woven together, this amazing collection of creative talent has presented a series that is admired by critics, peers and a growing global audience. We are so excited to see what this company has in store for the final season; I have no doubt that it will be memorable.”

“Robert and Michelle’s THE GOOD FIGHT has delivered five incredible seasons of smart, provocative and, above all, immensely entertaining storytelling featuring one of the best casts in the business,” said Nicole Clemens, president of Paramount+ Original Scripted Series. “Not only has this series earned the praise of critics and fans alike, but it helped to launch our service and will always be a part of our DNA. While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to these incredible characters, we trust our creators to know when their story is complete. We’re excited to share the sixth and final season with the world and know that the Kings will continue to exceed our expectations with groundbreaking storytelling.”

The upcoming sixth season of THE GOOD FIGHT has Diane feeling like she’s going crazy, struggling with an uneasy sense of déjà vu, with everything from Roe v. Wade, to voting rights, to Cold War aggressions returning. Meanwhile, the lawyers of Reddick & Associates wonder if the violence that they see all around them points to an impending civil war.

March 9, 2022 – Paramount+ today announced Emmy Award winner André Braugher (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) will join the upcoming sixth season of the critically acclaimed Paramount+ Original series THE GOOD FIGHT. Now in production, THE GOOD FIGHT is set to return this summer, streaming exclusively on Paramount+.

Braugher will star as Ri’Chard Lane, a showman lawyer and rainmaker who is forced on Liz as a new name partner. A force of nature, Ri’Chard is a wild mix of brilliance, geniality, religion and joyful hedonism. In short, he’s a handful.

“Our dream of an actor is always someone who can mix comedy and drama equally, and André Braugher is exactly that,” said Robert and Michelle King, series co-creators, showrunners and executive producers. “His work on ‘Men of a Certain Age,’ ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ and ‘Homicide’ has been amazing and funny. We’re ecstatic that he finally has time in his schedule to come play.”

The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions. The series is distributed worldwide by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Most recently, Braugher completed an eight-season run on NBC’s hit comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” as Captain Ray Holt. He won two Critics Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and received four Emmy Award nominations for his role. Braugher also won an Emmy Award and received a Golden Globe nomination for his starring role in FX’s mini-series “Thief.” In addition to his success on television, Braugher can be seen in numerous feature films including “Baytown Outlaws,” “Salt,” “Passengers,” “The Mist,” “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” and “Poseidon,” among others. Other credits include performances with Joseph Papp’s Public Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club and the Williamstown Theater Festival.

The sixth season of THE GOOD FIGHT has Diane feeling like she’s going crazy, struggling with an uneasy sense of déjà vu, with everything from Roe v. Wade to voting rights to Cold War aggressions returning. Meanwhile, the lawyers of Reddick & Associates wonder if the violence that they see all around them points to an impending civil war.

—–Jackie Gleason was “must-see TV” ages before anyone coined the phrase. In 1952, “The Great One” began hosting his own weekly CBS variety series, which included a fanciful array of characters of his own creation: aristocratic snob Reginald Van Gleason III, child-like Fenwick Babbitt, cocktail-loving Rum Dum, wise-cracking Joe the Bartender, the befuddled Poor Soul, loudmouth Charlie Bratton and, most famously, bombastic bus driver Ralph Kramden in The Honeymooners sketches. This special 70th anniversary commemoration of The Jackie Gleason Show brings together all of the legend’s favorite characters in hours of rare material spanning the 1950s and 1960s when Gleason was a top ten hit on Saturday nights for millions of viewers. A full hour-long edition of The Jackie Gleason Show from 1953 with musical guest Peggy Lee provides the opportunity to view the program as it originally aired, complete with vintage commercials and the spectacular June Taylor Dancers, who open the show. Comedic sidekick Art Carney makes a surprise appearance on a 1960 Gleason special in which he teams up with the star for a Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton reunion. Additionally, for the first time on home video, Gleason’s 1962-1966 American Scene Magazine series is celebrated with a selection of favorite sketches including long-lost segments of The Honeymooners. The subsequent 1966-1970 run of The Jackie Gleason Show is represented with seven more Honeymooners rarities and other surprises in color. The legacy and laughter of Jackie Gleason is further revealed in the 2006 documentary Genius at Work hosted by comic and lifelong fan Jeff Garlin (The Goldbergs). These are truly timeless TELEVISION TREASURES. Starring Jackie Gleason, Art Carney, Audrey Meadows, Sheila Macrae, Jane Kean, Sue Ane Langdon, Joyce Randolph, Frank Fontaine, Elizabeth Wilson, and musical guest Peggy Lee. 2-disc set.

EMMY AWARD WINNER MANDY PATINKIN JOINS SEASON FIVE OF “THE GOOD FIGHT” ON PARAMOUNT+

EMMY AWARD WINNER MANDY PATINKIN JOINS SEASON FIVE OF “THE GOOD FIGHT” ON PARAMOUNT+

NEW YORK, N.Y. – March 5, 2021 – Paramount+, the new streaming service from ViacomCBS, today announced Emmy award winner Mandy Patinkin (“Homeland”) will join the fifth season of the critically acclaimed Paramount+ Original Series THE GOOD FIGHT.

Patinkin will play Hal Wackner, a layman with no legal training who spontaneously decides to open a court in the back of a copy shop. Against all odds, the court catches on, and the team at Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart find themselves contending with judgements that mean nothing legally, but are honored by much of the entertained public.

“We are the biggest fans of Mandy’s stage, screen, and now YouTube work, so we couldn’t be more excited for him to play Wackner,” said Robert and Michelle King, series co-creators, showrunners and executive producers. “We only worry that he’ll have less time to do his fantastic work on YouTube.”

Award-winning actor Mandy Patinkin is currently voicing a character in the upcoming animated film “The Magician’s Elephant” for Netflix. Recently, Patinkin completed an eight-season run on the award-winning Showtime Original Series “Homeland,” for which he was nominated for four Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for his performance as Saul Berenson. He also won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe for his performance in the long running CBS series “Chicago Hope.” His many films include “Wonder,” “Life Itself,” “Wish I Was Here,” “Yentl,” “Daniel,” “Ragtime,” “Dick Tracy” and “The Princess Bride.” Patinkin is also a celebrated theatre star, who won a Tony award for his role as Che in “Evita” and received an additional nomination for his performance as George Seurat in Stephen Sondheim’s “Sunday in the Park with George.”

Season four of THE GOOD FIGHT found Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart navigating a very different landscape. After they lost their biggest client, Chumhum, and their founding partner’s name was tarnished, Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart was forced to accept an offer by a huge multi-national law firm, STR Laurie, to become a small subsidiary. Suddenly, all of their decisions can be second-guessed by the giant firm that is literally on top of them. While STR Laurie initially seem like benevolent overlords, we find Diane Lockhart and her colleagues chafing at their loss of independence while simultaneously investigating the emergence of a mysterious “Memo 618.”

Robert and Michelle King serve as showrunners and executive producers of the series, which they co-created with Phil Alden Robinson. Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Brooke Kennedy, Liz Glotzer, William Finkelstein, Jonathan Tolins and Jacquelyn Reingold also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions. The series is distributed worldwide by ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group.

Maia faces serious consequences at the firm thanks to Blum.

“The One Where a Nazi Gets Punched” (Season 3, Episode 5) – Blum weasels his way to a co-counsel seat on Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart’s largest case against genetics testing company Second Helix. While volunteering as democratic poll watchers in the suburbs of Chicago, Lucca and Jay (Nyambi Nyambi) come face to face with an alt-right group aiming to intimidate voters. Meanwhile, Maia attempts to move on while the partners grapple with a divided firm following revelations of pay disparity.

“The One Where Diane and Liz Topple Democracy” (Season 3, Episode 7) – Diane and Liz deal with a close ally when assigned to a class action case involving malfunctioning voting machines in the 2016 presidential election.
