Establishing a home in the New World is by no means an easy task, particularly in the wild backcountry of North Carolina – and perhaps most significantly – during a period of dramatic political upheaval. The Frasers strive to maintain peace and flourish within a society which – as Claire knows all too well – is unwittingly marching towards Revolution. Against this backdrop, which heralds the birth of the new American nation, Claire and Jamie have built a home together at Fraser’s Ridge. They must now defend this home – established on land granted to them by the Crown – not only from external forces, but also from the increasing strife and conflict in the community within their care. For the Frasers and their immediate family, “home” is more than simply a site in which they live: it is the place where they are laying the foundations for the rest of their lives.

LONDON MYSTERY SERIES THE CHELSEA DETECTIVE PREMIERES MONDAY, MARCH 7

LONDON MYSTERY SERIES THE CHELSEA DETECTIVE STARRING ADRIAN SCARBOROUGH AND SONITA HENRY PREMIERES MONDAY, MARCH 7 ON ACORN TV

“It has all the ingredients for the perfect, gritty murder mystery” – Radio Times (UK)

“The latest binge-worthy crime drama” – The Herald (UK)

Watch a first look clip from the premiere episode of the new Acorn TV Original series The Chelsea Detective, debuting in the U.S. and Canada on Monday, March 7, 2022, exclusively on Acorn TV. New episodes of the contemporary, four-part UK drama will premiere every Monday through March 28, 2022.

In the first episode The Wages of Sin, the death of a stonemason on the London Underground leads DI Arnold (Adrian Scarborough) into what seems at first like a real life haunting. The victim was a lonely, devout and troubled man who believed himself to be haunted by a spirit leaving him vengeful Biblical messages. Might a real-world explanation be found as they uncover the truth of his life – illicit drugs, bribery, broken family relationships and a man tormented by a terrible secret?

About The Chelsea Detective

DI Arnold (Scarborough) lives on a houseboat on the Thames, in Chelsea, after separating from his art dealer wife Astrid (Anamaria Marinca, 4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days; Sex Traffic), just yards from some of the most valuable real estate in Europe. Chelsea is a beautiful borough for beautiful people, but it has a dark underside of deprivation, violence, greed – and murder. Bodies have a way of showing up, and things are rarely what they seem, but Max’s determination and acuity mean he’ll find a way to root out the truth and bring those responsible to justice – regardless of their wealth or status. Max has assistance in his investigations from his partner, no nonsense DS Priya Shamsie (Sonita Henry, Krypton).

Also on his team is research and tech queen DC Jess Lombard (Lucy Phelps, Holby City), rookie officer DC Connor Pollock (Peter Bankolé, Peaky Blinders) and brilliant, if occasionally daunting, Chief Forensics Officer Ashley Wilton (Sophie Stone, Shetland). The cases the team take on allow viewers to visit a diverse cross section of Chelsea life, spanning the mansions of the super-rich to the council flats of the World’s End Estate, and the rarefied corridors of a prestigious international school to the leafy melancholy of Brompton Cemetery and the bustle of the King’s Road. Frances Barber (Doctor Who, Whitstable Pearl) co-stars as Max’s aunt, Olivia Arnold, and Davood Ghadami (Holby City) co-stars Priya’s husband, Nitin Shamsie.

Created and executive produced by Emmy® Award-winning Peter Fincham (The Lost Prince, Smack the Pony, I’m Alan Partridge), the four feature-length episodes are written by Glen Laker (Vera, Prime Suspect), Peter Fincham and Liz Lake (Riviera, Call the Midwife). The series producer is Ella Kelly (Death in Paradise, Midsomer Murders). The directors are Richard Signy (Death in Paradise, Silent Witness) and Darcia Martin (Call the Midwife, Judge John Deed).

Ten Percent (SUNDANCE NOW / AMC+)

New Series Premieres Spring 2022

From BAFTA winner John Morton (Twenty Twelve, W1A), the star-studded and buzzy comedy series Ten Percent (Based on the original hit French series, Call My Agent!) keeps the sensibilities and premise of the French series, in which the staff of a Parisian talent agency must hustle to keep clients happy after the abrupt death of their founder — all while juggling their own personal and love lives. The British remake takes a close look at London culture and class inequality, Britain’s entertainment relations to American Hollywood, and provides a whimsical tonality, unique to John Morton’s writing. Series regulars include Jack Davenport (The Morning Show, The Pirates of the Caribbean series), Lydia Leonard (Last Christmas, Absentia), Maggie Steed (Elizabeth Is Missing), Prasanna Puwanarajah (Patrick Melrose), Chelsey Crisp (Fresh Off the Boat), Hiftu Quasem (Killing Eve), Fola Evans-Akingbola (Black Mirror), Rebecca Humphries (The Crown), Harry Trevaldwyn (The King), Tim McInnerny (Game of Thrones, Notting Hill), Natasha Little (Night Manager), Edward Bluemel (Killing Eve, Sex Education), Eleonore Arnaud (Nu) and Academy Award winner Jim Broadbent (Iris, Game of Thrones). Adrian Scarborough (Killing Eve, The King’s Speech, 1917) stars as the sharp, intuitive Detective Inspector Max Arnold in the new Acorn TV Original drama The Chelsea Detective, premiering in the U.S. and Canada on Monday, March 7, 2022, exclusively on Acorn TV, AMC Networks’ acclaimed streaming service specializing in British and International television. New episodes of the contemporary, four-part UK drama will premiere every Monday through March 28, 2022.

DI Arnold (Scarborough) lives on a houseboat on the Thames, in Chelsea, after separating from his art dealer wife Astrid (Anamaria Marinca – 4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days; Sex Traffic), just yards from some of the most valuable real estate in Europe.

Frances Barber (Doctor Who, Whitstable Pearl) co-stars as Arnold’s mother.

Created and executive produced by Emmy(R) Award-winning Peter Fincham (The Lost Prince, Smack the Pony, I’m Alan Partridge), the four feature-length episodes are written by Glen Laker (Vera, Prime Suspect), Peter Fincham and Liz Lake (Riviera, Call the Midwife). The series producer is Ella Kelly (Death in Paradise, Midsomer Murders). The directors are Richard Signy (Death in Paradise, Silent Witness) and Darcia Martin (Call the Midwife, Judge John Deed).

Acorn TV Commission in Co Production with ZDF Expectation’s New UK Mystery Drama THE CHELSEA DETECTIVE

Acorn TV Commission in Co Production with ZDF Expectation’s New UK Mystery Drama THE CHELSEA DETECTIVE Starring Adrian Scarborough (Gavin & Stacey, Killing Eve)

London, UK; March 24, 2021 – AMC Networks’ Acorn TV and ZDF are excited to announce the commissioning of UK drama The Chelsea Detective with Acorn Media Enterprises from Expectation (In My Skin, Guilt).

Created by Peter Fincham, the 4 x 90-minute series stars Adrian Scarborough (Gavin & Stacey, Killing Eve) as Detective Inspector Max Arnold, who lives on a battered houseboat at the end of Cheyne Walk. Max is the son of a local bookshop owner and was born and bred in Chelsea, but he’s a far cry from the affluent elite whose crimes he’ll help solve. Recently separated from his art dealer wife Astrid (Anamaria Marinca – 4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days; Sex Traffic), Max still hopes one day to move back into their apartment in nearby Cadogan Square.

Each episode sees Max and Streatham-born D.C. Priya Shamsie played by Sonita Henry (Luther, Krypton) investigate a wide range of crimes. Storylines in the first series feature a stonemasons’ workshop at Brompton Cemetery; a fashionable school for international students; a family-owned Italian restaurant which is on the brink of expansion; and a local garden centre linked to the unsavoury past of Chelsea FC football hooliganism.

The feature-length episodes are written by Glen Laker (Vera, Prime Suspect), Peter Fincham and Liz Lake (Riviera; Call the Midwife). Production will begin in April 2021.

Acorn TV will feature its world premiere in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, among others in 2022. BBC Studios is distributing the series internationally.

Catherine Mackin, Managing Director, Acorn Media Enterprises, noted: “We’re thrilled to work with ZDF, Expectation and BBC Studios on this riveting UK mystery series set in and around picturesque Chelsea as we follow this fascinating detective both on the clock during his investigations and at home on his houseboat. Acorn TV is thrilled to have Adrian Scarborough in the lead role and we’re confident that our subscribers worldwide will be captivated by this charismatic drama.”

ZDF, Dr. Simone Emmelius, SVP International Fiction Coproduction and Acquisition said: “As a first outcome of our joint development activities with BBC Studios, The Chelsea Detective coincidently is our first coproduction with Acorn, too. This promising show perfectly expands our portfolio of high quality international crime series, and I´m confident, it will find an enthusiastic audience in Germany.”

Peter Fincham, executive producer, commented: “Working with Acorn, ZDF and BBC Studios to realise the vision for the series has been truly exciting. Chelsea is the perfect precinct for a long-running crime series – it’s known for its wealth and history, but there’s so much more to it than that. Our brilliant cast will be taking the viewers to unexpected places and meeting some unlikely characters.”

The series producer is Ella Kelly (Death in Paradise; Midsomer Murders). The directors are Richard Signy (Death in Paradise; Silent Witness) and Darcia Martin (Call the Midwife; Judge John Deed).
