There were many questions from fans (and from us!) about whether the original broadcast music would be restored, as much of it was missing from the previous DVD sets of Wiseguy. Our thanks to reader Peter DiGiovanni, who purchased the DVD set from VEI and reported on our Facebook page that “I purchased the set and immediately put on the No One Here Gets Out Alive episode and NOPE no original music whatsoever, elevator music in place of Knights in White Satin, and to make matters worse…there’s even MORE music cut than before, Ray Sharkey’s rendition of Good Lovin is completely cut from this new release, but somehow was intact in the original Studio Works edition”; due to this report, we are asking you to be aware that the Blu-ray version from VEI will very likely have the same situation as VEI’s version on DVD.

NOTE: the original TV series, The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams, was released on DVD as individual season sets in 2012 and 2013 by Shout! Factory, and as The Complete Series in 2016. These contained neither the original 1974 pilot telefilm, nor the 1982 finale telefilm called “The Capture of Grizzly Adams.” CBS released “Capture” on DVD in late 2013, but that item has been out-of-print for quite some time. Now CBS is re-releasing “Capture” on DVD, as an MOD (Manufacture On Demand) item, for those who missed it.

The charred remains of a body are discovered in the burned-out remnants of a rural shed, but no one lived there, and no one was meant to be there at all. As DSS Mike Shepherd (Neill Rea, Go Girls) and DC Kristin Simms (Fern Sutherland, The Almighty Johnsons) are tasked with identifying the unidentifiable, it becomes apparent this is the third in a run of “accidental” deaths, all attended by the Brokenwood Fire Brigade. Could one of its members be Brokenwood’s first serial killer?

This “painful, tender” (Guardian) 2022 UK drama is about Anne Williams (Maxine Peake, The Village) who lost her 15-year-old-son Kevin in the Hillsborough Disaster- he was one of 96 fans who lost their lives at the 1989 FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest. Anne refused to believe the verdict of accidental death and was determined to discover the truth of what happened in the disaster. Over the next 24 years, Anne tracked down witnesses, sought medical advice, enlisted political support and campaigned tirelessly for new inquests for Kevin and the other victims. This is the story of one mother’s quest for truth and justice.

Season 2 Finale Premieres Thursday, August 4

Terror Lake Drive: Single Black Female takes place two years after the chain of events that traumatized the tenants of the Freeman Lake Apartments in season one…bringing a new and unsuspecting tenant to the mystifying lakeside apartment complex. Created and written by Jerry LaMothe (Blackout) and Kajuana S. Marie, season two follows Deja (Pascale Armand, Eclipsed), a traveling nurse, who recently completed an assignment in Austin, Texas. Amid her housing quest, she meets an awkwardly shy and eclectic Doula named Shana (Yolonda Ross, The Chi), a nursing student at the university who is seeking a roommate – single Black female preferred. Oblivious to its checkered past, Deja makes herself at home with Shana at Freeman Lake, while unknowingly becoming a target of the latest eerie coincidences to inhabit the troubled apartment complex. In the season finale…a showdown falls on the grounds formerly known as Freeman Lakes. Send Help is a half-hour dramedy following Fritz Jean-Baptiste (Jean Elie), a first-generation Haitian American actor who is on top of the world, since landing a starring role on fictional hit TV show, This Can’t Be Us…all while being the sole support system for his incredibly demanding Haitian family, reeling from a recent tragedy. Fritz is firing on all cylinders, until he receives a fateful call delivering the news of his shows’ cancellation. This sci-fi thriller set 100 years into the future follows Bella Sway (Emma McDonald), a lunar cargo pilot and smuggler who finds herself accused of a crime and marooned on Moonhaven, a utopian community on a 500 square mile Garden of Eden built on the moon to find solutions to the problems that will soon end civilization on Mother Earth. A skeptic in paradise, Bella is sucked into a conspiracy to gain control of the artificial intelligence responsible for Moonhaven’s miracles and teams with a local detective, Paul Serno (Dominic Monaghan, Lost), to stop the forces that want to destroy Earth’s last hope before they are destroyed themselves. Tomm Schultz (Joe Manganiello, True Blood), an ex-military with a philosophical bent, is the right hand of the lead Earth diplomat to the moon, who finds his ambitions changed when he’s injected with a mind-altering moon drug.

New episodic anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead is the latest series withing the expanding TWD Universe. With six original one-hour standalone episodes focused on both new and established characters within the walker apocalypse, each episode has its own distinct tone and point of view – but the stakes are high in each story, pushing new, indelible characters with relentless, life-threatening choices and situations. Two-Episode Season 2 Premiere on Monday, August 22; Subsequent Episodes Released One Week Ahead of AMC

Allison (Emmy winner Annie Murphy) and Patty (Mary Hollis Inboden) must deal with Neil’s (Alex Bonifer) discovery of their dark secret, pushing Allison to find a better way out of her marriage to Kevin (Eric Petersen). Allison alters her original escape plan from Kevin. Patty once again agrees to help, but this time, on her own terms.

TOKYO MEW MEW NEW (HIDIVE EXLUSIVE)

The classic anime series returns! TOKYO MEW MEW NEW reintroduces fans to the magical girl Ichigo as she develops special powers and learns to fight for love, justice… and endangered species!? Call of the Night (HIDIVE EXLUSIVE)

The classic tale of “boy meets girl” gets a ghoulish twist in Call of the Night when protagonist Ko (Gen Sato, Dr. Stone) encounters a vampire while wandering the city after nightfall. The vampire Nazuna (Sora Amamiya, Akame ga Kill!) can grant him dark gifts and nocturnal immortality, but there are conditions Ko must meet before can sink his teeth into vampirism, and he’ll have to discover just how far he’s willing to go to satisfy his desires before he can heed the call of the night.

Adapted by studio LIDENFILMS (Blade of the Immortal) from Weekly Shonen Sunday’s hit manga series of the same name, Tomoyuki Itamura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) directs Call of the Night while Michiko Yokote (Cowboy Bebop) provides the script.

In Glorious, Ryan Kwanten (True Blood, Kindred) plays a young man who is spiraling out of control after a bad breakup. Simmons (Whiplash, Being the Ricardos) speaking to him from an adjacent stall. As he tries to escape, he realizes he is an unwilling player in a situation bigger and more terrible than he could have imagined. Written and directed by Andrew Traucki as a follow-up to his 2010 film, The Reef, the sequel follows a woman named Nic (Teressa Liane, The Vampire Diaries) who is looking to heal after witnessing her sister’s horrific murder. Nic, her younger sister Annie and two close friends travel to a remote Pacific Island for a kayaking and diving adventure. Hours into their expedition, the women are stalked and attacked by a Great White shark. To survive, they will need to band together, and Nic will have to overcome her post-traumatic stress, face her fears, and slay a monster. Ovation Continues to Highlight International Dramas from Canada and Down Under
Los Angeles, CA – May 25, 2021 – Ovation TV, America’s only arts network, is planning a summer of ‘Secrets & Crimes’ with film and drama series pairings every Monday night. Episodes of Street Legal, The Brokenwood Mysteries, and Mystery Road will air as part of the network’s ‘Secrets and Crimes’ programming block with back-to-back films starting at 7pm ET / 4pm PT. The summer fun starts on Monday, June 7 with back-to-back episodes of Street Legal, followed by episodes of The Brokenwood Mysteries on Monday, June 28 (season one) and Monday, July 26 (season two), and the first season of Mystery Road starting on Monday, August 23.

The series also stars Cara Ricketts, Steve Lund, and Yvonne Chapman.

The Brokenwood Mysteries premieres on Tuesday, June 29 at 12:30am ET (Monday, June 28 at 9:30pm PT)

Detective Inspector Mike Shepherd (Neill Rea) and partner DC Kristin Sims (Fern Sutherland) watch over the New Zealand town of Brokenwood, investigating the mystifying, inventive and macabre crimes that befall it. Look beneath the peaceful veneer, and viewers will see that murder is curiously at home in Brokenwood. The series also stars Nic Sampson and Cristina Serban Ionda.

Mystery Road season one premieres on Tuesday, August 24 at 12:30am ET (Monday, August 23 at 9:30pm PT)

Detective Jay Swan (Aaron Pederson) is called to the remote Australian town of Patterson by local cop Emma James (Judy Davis) to help investigate a mysterious disappearance on an outback cattle station. The investigation uncovers a past injustice that threatens the fabric of the whole community. The six-episode season also stars Tasia Zalar and Tasma Walton.
