Freeform announced its summer schedule, which includes season premieres of “Motherland: Fort Salem,” “grown-ish” and “Good Trouble.” As previously announced, the final season of fan-favorite ‘The Bold Type’ premieres on Wednesday, May 26, and will finale on Wednesday, June 30. All titles will be available to stream on Hulu the day after the premiere.

NEWS AND NOTES FROM FREEFORM’S WINTER TCA VIRTUAL PRESS CONFERENCE

At Freeform’s virtual TCA presentation, Walt Disney Television’s young adult network announced that “Single Drunk Female,” from Simone Finch and Jenni Konner, has been picked up to series. The network, which remains the No. 1 primetime cable net in entertainment for the 2020/21 season (A18-34 and W18-34), also announced the highly anticipated series premiere of new drama “Cruel Summer” and unveiled a first look at the Jessica Biel produced thriller. Freeform also announced the premiere date for the critically acclaimed comedy “Everything’s Gonna Be Okay” and unveiled key art for the new season. The newly announced premiere dates add to Freeform’s slate, which includes signature hit “The Bold Type,” premiering this spring, and “Motherland: Fort Salem,” premiering this summer.

Fan-favorite original series “Good Trouble” and “grown-ish” are currently airing all-new episodes and will return with additional episodes this summer, premiere dates to be announced soon.

Freeform has ordered comedy “Single Drunk Female” to series. After a spectacularly embarrassing public breakdown, irreverent alcoholic Samantha Fink is forced to move back home with her “Smother” to sober up and avoid jail time. But when her childhood BFF reveals surprising news, Samantha starts to learn there is a fine line between party girl and walking disaster. “SINGLE DRUNK FEMALE” stars Sofia Black-D’Elia, Ally Sheedy, Rebecca Henderson, Sasha Compère, Lily Mae Harrington and Garrick Bernard. Today, Freeform announced that the critically acclaimed series “The Bold Type” will return for a fifth and final season. A signature hit for the network, the series will celebrate Kat, Jane and Sutton’s journey in the farewell episodes set to air later this year. Fan-favorite series “The Bold Type” returns to Freeform on Thursday, JUNE 11, at 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT, continuing its fourth season. The network also released a first look promo at the new season with an introduction by the cast, check it out:

During the recent midseason finale, Kat, Jane and Sutton each faced life-altering changes in both their personal and professional lives. Sutton and Richard tied the knot, but their relationship will continue to be bicoastal since Sutton was finally promoted to Scarlet stylist. Jane was given her own vertical but ended things with Ryan when she learned the true extent of his betrayal and went forward with her double mastectomy. Kat took a stand when she once again went up against RJ Safford about his personal beliefs but lost her job at Scarlet in the process.
In the upcoming episodes, Jane struggles to come to terms with her new body and manage her new responsibilities at Scarlet. Sutton revels in her new roles as Mrs. Hunter and stylist, but then receives shocking news which upends her world. Kat tries to find a new direction in her life. Series star Melora Hardin directs the second episode of the summer season in her episodic television directing debut.
