THE CBS NEWS STREAMING NETWORK WILL PREMIERE “ARE THE KIDS ALL RIGHT?”

THE CBS NEWS STREAMING NETWORK WILL PREMIERE “ARE THE KIDS ALL RIGHT?”, A CBS REPORTS MULTIPART DOCUMENTARY SERIES EXPLORING THE IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY, RACISM AND MORE ON AMERICAN TEENS TWO YEARS INTO THE PANDEMIC

April 20, 2022 – Two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, the world looks and feels drastically different to everyone. But what has the impact been on America’s teens and tweens? The CBS News Streaming Network will launch a new multipart CBS Reports docuseries, ARE THE KIDS ALL RIGHT?, exploring the transformational cultural shifts facing today’s youth, including technology, fame, racism and more. The series begins Sunday, April 24 (7:00 PM, ET) on the CBS News Streaming Network, will be available on CBSNews.com, and streams on Paramount+.

The immersive series looks at the world through the eyes of teens and lets them tell their stories, in their words.

Each half-hour episode of ARE THE KIDS ALL RIGHT? delivers an unfiltered look into a generation racked by a pandemic, living in the grip of technology and dealing with social and cultural change every day. The series will follow young people confronting the cost of chasing fame, the impact of racism, mental health struggles borne by social media and the internet, and the toll of debates over freedom of speech and expression in high school and on college campuses.

Starting April 24, the episodes will explore:

Chasing Fame: While the world was locked inside and glued to screens, many teenagers became “content creators,” quickly discovering that they could become famous overnight with TikTok. But fame is often fleeting, and the quest to get “verified” and amass likes can wreak havoc on teenagers’ self-esteem. What is the mental health impact of that fame or failure to get it?

Racism: As school board meetings around the country face backlash from parents opposed to talking about race and racism in schools, and states react by banning lessons that focus on race, CBS Reports explores teens’ perceptions of race and experiences with racism, and the emotional impact it’s having on their lives.

The Internet: Generation Z spends nearly half of their waking hours on the internet, according to several studies. They’re the first generation to go from birth through adolescence completely connected. Through these up-close and personal perspectives, we’ll reveal the toll the online world is taking on kids’ self-esteem, relationships and mental health.

Free Speech: We follow the next generation of students in both high school and college as they confront academic environments where many say they can’t explore their thoughts freely.

ARE THE KIDS ALL RIGHT? is a documentary series appearing in the new iteration of CBS Reports, the storied CBS News documentary franchise that began on the Network more than 60 years ago. Featuring deep reporting on national and global issues, CBS Reports is one of the new original programming offerings featured on the CBS News Streaming Network. Nancy Lane is the senior executive producer of CBS Reports and the senior vice president of programming and development for CBS News Streaming.

Netflix Launches ‘The Gay Agenda,’ an Original Podcast Celebrating Queer Joy from MOST

Netflix Launches ‘The Gay Agenda,’ an Original Podcast Celebrating Queer Joy from MOST

Netflix has launched its first LGBTQ+ podcast – The Gay Agenda, produced by MOST, the home of LGBTQ+ storytelling (Twitter, Instagram). The new podcast takes an entertaining and honest look into the lives of LGBTQ+ creatives at the top of their fields across different industries and celebrates their success stories in the community through a loving and humorous lens. The Gay Agenda will launch on Monday, January 10, 2022.

The podcast is created and produced by lesbian actress, singer/songwriter and podcaster Jasmin Savoy Brown (she/her, The Leftovers, Yellowjackets, new Scream reboot), who is also currently recording her first EP. She co-hosts the show with producer and nonbinary actor, comic and playwright Liv Hewson (they/them, Santa Clarita Diet, Yellowjackets, Let It Snow, Bombshell). On the show, Brown and Hewson interview queer trailblazers in the community and explore the wonderful, funny (and sometimes ridiculous) parts of the LGBTQ+ experience. The show is also produced by Multitude, a podcast production company in Brooklyn.

Gabrielle Korn (she/her), Netflix Editorial & Publishing Manager for MOST said, “With our first foray into the podcast space, MOST is entering a new era — one where the gay agenda continues to expand into all corners of our audience’s lives, making it easier and more fun than ever to discover Netflix’s LGBTQ+ talent, titles, and storytelling. I love this podcast so much; it’s truly a joy to listen to, and I hope it brings that same joy to our followers.”

Savoy said, “I’m proud of The Gay Agenda. It’s joyful, it’s inquisitive, it’s welcoming. I think it’s a real reflection of the LGBTQ+ community and I hope our listeners feel the same. Interviewing guests this season made me a better person. Hearing people’s unique stories and perspectives on life and happiness was a learning experience and I don’t take that for granted.”

Hewson added, “The first item on The Gay Agenda is, of course, for our guests to have fun and be themselves. There’s room for all of it, for connection and healing and for irreverence and silliness. it’s serious and it isn’t. We contain multitudes! Part of the impetus behind this podcast was creating a space to talk about being LGBTQ in entertainment that centered on something other than pain. The pain is there of course, but the joy is too! We want to live in joy.”

The inaugural season has 45-minute episodes released consecutively over eight weeks. The first episode, launching January 10, kicks off with co-hosts Brown and Hewson expressing the importance of celebrating queer joy and welcomes nonbinary actor Bex Taylor-Klaus (they/them), who proudly and humorously identifies as a “problem”. The candid episode dives into their love of Shakespeare and Tegan and Sara, softball and growing up queer and Jewish in the South. Regarding coming out to themself, Taylor-Klaus declares on the show, “Let’s stop sitting in a little box that feels comfortable…stick my hand out and make sure the sun’s not going to melt me.”

Episode 2, launches on January 17 with director, writer, actor Natalie Morales (she/they, Director of Language Lessons), who waxes nostalgically about the various queer characters they have portrayed including an asexual axolotl on BoJack Horseman, their religious mother’s deep friendships with gay men, along with a spirited bonus rapid-fire game of Gender This!

Additional guests with more humorous personal revelations, life stories and how they will further the gay agenda this season includes actor Ally Beardsley (they/them), actor Javicia Leslie (she/her), comedian Caleb Hearon (he/him), author Carmen Maria Machado (she/her), actor Leo Sheng (he/him), and writer/comedian/actor Fortune Feimster (she/her).

About All Creatures Great and Small, Season 1

Based on the beloved autobiographical books from James Herriot, “All Creatures Great and Small,” tells the exciting adventures of a veterinarian in 1930s Yorkshire. The series takes place in 1937, when James Herriot (Nicholas Ralph), fresh out of Glasgow Veterinary College, follows his dream to become a vet in the magnificent Yorkshire Dales, one of England’s most beloved and beautiful landscapes.

He soon discovers that treating the animals is as much about treating their owners, and the Dales’ farmers are a tough crowd to please, including the delightfully eccentric Mrs. Pumphrey (Dame Diana Rigg, “Victoria,” “Game of Thrones”), owner of the overly indulged Pekingese, Tricki Woo. Meanwhile, at Skeldale House, James gets to know his newly formed dysfunctional family: his chaotic and erratic boss Siegfried Farnon (Samuel West, “Mr. Selfridge,” “On Chesil Beach”), his wayward brother Tristan (Callum Woodhouse, “The Durrells in Corfu”) and the shrewd Mrs. Hall (Anna Madeley, “The Child in Time,” “Patrick Melrose”) who is endlessly steering the ship. And when local beauty Helen Alderson (Rachel Shenton, “Switched at Birth,” “White Gold”) attracts James’s attention, he finds another, more enduring reason to stay in the Dales. However, his only misgiving stems from the rival he has made with the wealthy landowner Hugh Hulton, (Matthew Lewis, “Harry Potter,” “Ripper Street”) who also has his eyes set on Helen.

SHOWTIME REVIVES ORIGINAL DEXTER PODCAST WITH LAUNCH OF DEXTER: NEW BLOOD WRAP-UP WITH SCOTT REYNOLDS

SHOWTIME REVIVES ORIGINAL DEXTER PODCAST WITH LAUNCH OF DEXTER: NEW BLOOD WRAP-UP WITH SCOTT REYNOLDS, AHEAD OF TV SERIES PREMIERE

First Slice of Killer New Podcast Season Drops October 1

NEW YORK – September 23, 2021 – SHOWTIME breathes new life into the official DEXTER companion podcast with the premiere of DEXTER: NEW BLOOD WRAP-UP WITH SCOTT REYNOLDS, hosted by Reynolds, executive producer and writer for the much-anticipated special event series DEXTER®: NEW BLOOD.

In conjunction with the 15th anniversary of the DEXTER premiere, the podcast – which will be available everywhere – will launch Friday, October 1, and will continue its spree with new episodes every Tuesday for 16 weeks. To listen to the trailer and subscribe to the podcast, please click on LINK.

Ahead of the world television premiere of DEXTER: NEW BLOOD (Sunday, November 7, at 9 p.m. ET/PT), Reynolds will give fans their fix by fleshing out the episodes and dissecting the characters and plot twists with razor-sharp precision. The podcast will provide exclusive behind-the-scenes access and feature special guest stars from the cast and the brilliant minds who bring the show to life, including Michael C. Hall (“Dexter Morgan”), Jennifer Carpenter (“Deb Morgan”), John Lithgow (“Arthur Mitchell”), showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips, the writers and many more on the hit list.

“Resurrecting America’s favorite serial killer puts viewers in the passenger seat as I, along with my special guests, will lay it all out on the kill table,” says Reynolds. “This podcast is the perfect companion piece to cut deep into the dark drama that’s DEXTER. Was he a good guy doing bad things or a bad guy doing good things? Or was he just a misunderstood man with a large collection of knives and way too much plastic wrap?”

On the small screen, DEXTER: NEW BLOOD picks up 10 years after Dexter went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura; he’s now living under an assumed name in the fictional small town of Iron Lake, New York. Dexter may be embracing his new life, but in the wake of unexpected events in this close-knit community, his Dark Passenger inevitably beckons.

DEXTER: NEW BLOOD WRAP-UP WITH SCOTT REYNOLDS is produced by SHOWTIME and Malka Media and will be available wherever you get your podcasts and at the SHOWTIME YouTube channel.
