New Episodes of Season Three of “Star Trek: Lower Decks” Are Available to Stream Weekly on Thursdays, Exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S.

September 8, 2022 – Paramount+ today released an exclusive sneak peek of a scene from an upcoming episode of the hit original animated comedy series STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS. The scene was revealed on-stage during today’s global live-streamed “Star Trek Day” celebration.

The sneak peek is of episode “Crisis Point 2: Paradoxus,” in which Boimler’s holodeck movie sequel tries to live up to the original, as seen in season one, which will be available to stream on Thurs., Oct. 13, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S.

The STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS conversation at today’s “Star Trek Day” celebration featured voice cast members Tawny Newsome, who also co-hosted the event, Noël Wells, and Paul F. Tompkins, who served as the moderator. Voice cast member Fred Tatasciore served as this year’s “Star Trek Day” announcer at the in-person event.

The “Star Trek Day” celebration is available for fans to live-stream worldwide for free at StarTrek.com/Day and on YouTube (Paramount+ and Star Trek Official pages), Facebook (@StarTrek), Twitter (@StarTrekonPPlus) and TikTok (@ParamountPlus). It is available to stream for free in the U.S. only on Paramount+’s Twitch page. After the initial airing, the conversation portions of the event will be available on-demand on Paramount+.

Created by Emmy Award winner Mike McMahan (“Rick and Morty,” “Solar Opposites”), season three of STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS challenges the U.S.S. Cerritos ensigns in (hilarious) ways they could never imagine, starting with a shocking resolution for season two’s epic cliffhanger finale.

The Starfleet crew residing in the “lower decks” of the U.S.S. Cerritos includes Ensign Beckett Mariner, voiced by Tawny Newsome; Ensign Brad Boimler, voiced by Jack Quaid; Ensign Tendi, voiced by Noël Wells; and Ensign Rutherford, voiced by Eugene Cordero. The Starfleet characters that comprise the U.S.S. Cerritos’ bridge crew include Captain Carol Freeman, voiced by Dawnn Lewis; Commander Jack Ransom, voiced by Jerry O’Connell; Lieutenant Shaxs, voiced by Fred Tatasciore; and Doctor T’Ana, voiced by Gillian Vigman.

STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS is produced by CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios’ animation arm; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Secret Hideout’s Alex Kurtzman, Roddenberry Entertainment’s Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth, Katie Krentz (219 Productions) and Heather Kadin serve as executive producers alongside creator and showrunner Mike McMahan. Live from the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, Calif., “Star Trek Day” will feature back-to-back, in-person conversations with cast members from the “Star Trek” universe, along with exciting announcements and reveals throughout. “Star Trek Day” will also be celebrated with a one-of-a-kind opportunity for fans around the world with the debut of in-person “Star Trek” Augmented Reality Delta Portals. The Delta Portals will be set up for a limited time in select cities internationally, from Wednesday, Sept. 7 to Thursday, Sept 8. Each location will have three “Star Trek” Deltas, each seven feet tall and featuring QR codes that, when scanned on Instagram, transform the objects into mixed-reality portals that bring the user into the world of “Star Trek.” Each augmented reality experience will be based on a current “Star Trek” series, featuring fully 3D alien planets, classic starships and iconic characters as they interact with both the virtual and physical worlds.

July 23, 2022 – Paramount+ today announced “Star Trek” worlds will collide with a major crossover event planned for STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS featuring stars from Paramount+’s original animated comedy series, STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS, appearing in STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS’ upcoming second season. STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS star Anson Mount revealed the news when STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS stars Tawny Newsome and Jack Quaid crashed his portion of the “Star Trek” universe panel today at San Diego Comic-Con.

In this special crossover episode, featuring both live-action and animation, fans can expect to see Ensign Beckett Mariner, voiced by Tawny Newsome, and Ensign Brad Boimler, voiced by Jack Quaid, from STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS, joining the U.S.S. Enterprise in season two of STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS. The episode will be directed by STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION actor and director Jonathan Frakes.

STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS is produced by CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios’ animation arm; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Secret Hideout’s Alex Kurtzman, Roddenberry Entertainment’s Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth, Katie Krentz (219 Productions) and Heather Kadin serve as executive producers alongside creator and showrunner Mike McMahan. Aaron Baiers (Secret Hideout), who brought McMahan to the project, also serves as an executive producer. July 13, 2022 – Paramount+ today announced that season three of its hit original half-hour animated comedy series STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS will premiere on Thursday, August 25, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S.. Following the premiere, the remaining nine episodes of the 10-episode long season will be available to stream weekly on Thursdays. The official key art for the upcoming third season was also revealed.

The series is produced by CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios’ animation arm; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Five is the last to land…smack dab in the middle of a nuclear doomsday, which – spoiler alert! – turns out is a result of the group’s disruption of the timeline (déjà vu, anyone?). Now the Umbrella Academy must find a way to reunite, figure out what caused doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse. The New Season of the Hit Animated Comedy Returns Later This Year, Exclusively on Paramount+

April 9, 2022 – Paramount+ today released the teaser trailer for the upcoming third season of its hit original half-hour animated comedy series STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS. The season three teaser trailer and new teaser art were revealed during the STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS panel at Star Trek: Mission Chicago. Season three will be available to stream later this year, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S.

Developed by Emmy Award winner Mike McMahan (“Rick and Morty,” “Solar Opposites”), season three of STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS challenges the U.S.S. Cerritos ensigns in (hilarious) ways they could never imagine, starting with a shocking resolution for season two’s epic cliffhanger finale.

The series is produced by CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios’ animation arm; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment. PARAMOUNT+ ANNOUNCES PREMIERE DATES AND ADDITIONAL SEASONS FOR “STAR TREK” UNIVERSE SERIES

Jan. 18, 2022 – Paramount+, the streaming service from ViacomCBS, today announced new season premiere dates and additional 10-episode-long season pickup orders across the service’s “Star Trek” Universe live-action series:

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY has been renewed for a fifth season. Season four of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY returns with new episodes on Thursday, Feb. 10.

Season two of STAR TREK: PICARD will premiere on Thursday, March 3. Following the premiere, new episodes will drop weekly on Thursdays. STAR TREK: PICARD is currently in production on a third season.

STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS has been renewed for a second season ahead of its season one debut, which will premiere on Thursday, May 5. Following the premiere, new episodes will drop weekly on Thursdays.

In addition to the live action series within the “Star Trek” Universe on Paramount+, there is more animated “Star Trek” on the horizon:

STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS will return summer 2022 with a 10-episode-long third season. STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS has also been renewed for a 10-episode-long fourth season.

Season one of STAR TREK: PRODIGY returned on Thursday, Jan. 6 with episode six. The remaining four episodes of season one’s first half will be available to stream weekly on Thursdays, with episode 10 available to stream on Thursday, Feb. 3. The additional 10-episode-long second half of season one will be available on Paramount+ later in 2022.
