HBO Max Renews PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN For A Second Season
All Episodes Of Season One Are Available On HBO Max
HBO Max has renewed the original drama PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN for a second season. Co-created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, the ten episode first season, which debuted in July of this year, is currently available to stream on HBO Max.
From Warner Bros. Television and Alloy Entertainment, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN has been called “one of the best horror TV shows of the past two decades” by Bloody Disgusting and Collider has praised it as “incredibly thrilling and exciting.” Variety says “It quickly asserts itself as a visceral nightmare of a teen slasher” and The Wrap notes the show’s “greatest strength, outside of the casting and characterization: it wears its horror roots on its sleeve.”
Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max quote: “We are so proud of the incredible response both critically and from fans that PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN has received. Viewers have embraced our new generation of Liars, and Roberto and Lindsay’s brilliantly dark, horror-fueled take on this iconic franchise. Along with Alloy and Warner Bros. Television, we are thrilled to continue the ‘Pretty Little Liars’ legacy.”
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring quote: “We are beyond excited to continue telling stories with our amazing group of little liars—exploring their friendships, their romances, their secrets, and their status as scream queens supreme! Eternal thanks to the fans who have embraced this new, horror-version of “Pretty Little Liars”—which we’ll be continuing, of course—as well as our partners at HBO Max, Warner Bros. Television, and Alloy Entertainment. As Tabby would say, ‘There’s a sequel in the offing!’”
Season 1 logline: Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in present day, a disparate group of teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin committed by their parents two decades ago…as well as their own. In the dark, coming-of-age, horror-tinged drama PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN, we find ourselves miles away from Rosewood, but within the existing Pretty Little Liars universe — in a brand-new town, with a new generation of Little Liars.
Season 1 cast: Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Zaria, Malia Pyles, Maia Reficco, Mallory Bechtel, Sharon Leal, Elena Goode, Eric Johnson, Alex Aiono and Lea Salonga.
Season 1 credits: PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN is from executive producer/writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Riverdale,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) and co-executive producer/writer Lindsay Calhoon Bring (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”). In “Last Night in Soho” (7/1), starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Thomasin McKenzie and Matt Smith, an aspiring fashion designer is mysteriously transported to the 1960s where she meets a wannabe singer. She soon finds out that all the glamour is not at all what it appears to be, and the dreams of her past begin to turn into something darker.
Add a whole new meaning to “suns out, buns out” this summer with the “Bob’s Burgers Movie” (7/12). A ruptured water main creates an enormous sinkhole right in front of Bob’s Burgers, blocking the entrance indefinitely and ruining the Belchers’ plans for a successful summer. While Bob and Linda struggle to keep the business afloat, the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family’s restaurant. As the dangers mount, these underdogs help each other find hope as they try to get back behind the counter.

When a single misstep could shatter your entire world, why leave life to chance?
Filmed entirely inside the world of VR, the vérité documentary “We Met in Virtual Reality” (7/27) captures the excitement and surprising intimacy of a burgeoning cultural movement, demonstrating the power of online connection in an isolated world.

· Logline: Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in the present day, a group of disparate teen girls – a brand-new set of Little Liars – find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago…as well as their own. In the dark, coming-of-age, horror-tinged drama PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN, we find ourselves miles away from Rosewood, but within the existing Pretty Little Liars universe – in a brand-new town, with a new generation of Little Liars.

Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in the present day, a group of disparate teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago…as well as their own. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring said: “We’re such huge fans of what I. Marlene King and her iconic cast created, we knew that we had to treat the original series as #CANON and do something different. So we’re leaning into the suspense and horror in this reboot, which hopefully will honor what the fans loved about the hit series, while weaving in new, unexpected elements.”
“Roberto and Lindsay are expanding the Pretty Little Liars universe with more murder, mysteries, and scandal, and we can’t wait,” said Sarah Aubrey, head of original content, HBO Max.
A pop culture phenomenon, the first Pretty Little Liars series was produced by Warner Horizon Television for Freeform/ABC Family, debuted in June 2010 and ran for seven seasons, concluding in June 2017. During its seven-year run, Pretty Little Liars ranked as the #1 scripted series on all of cable television in the teen girl demographic, and it ranks as the #1 series ever to air on Freeform/ABC Family. In its final season, the show amassed 62.5 million social engagements through the night of its series finale telecast — significantly higher engagement than the other biggest shows of that year, America’s Got Talent and Game of Thrones. Season six of the show was the #1 most social scripted TV series, with more than 270 million total social engagements across Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter.
The Pretty Little Liars book series includes 16 books and three companion novels. It is a #1 New York Times bestselling series and was on The New York Times Best Sellers list for more than 80 weeks. To date, nine million copies of the book have been sold in the U.S. alone, and it has been sold in 33 foreign markets and languages.
