James Gunn wrote all eight episodes of Peacemaker and directed five, including the first. Gunn, Peter Safran and Matt Miller serve as executive producers on the series, with John Cena as co-executive producer and Stacy Littlejohn as consulting producer. Upcoming DVD Releases

COMING ON (FRIDAY) 9/30:
• Wiseguy – The Collector’s Edition (VEI)
$59.99 SRP Blu-ray

—–Long before Donnie Brasco brought similar drama to the big screen, Golden Globe winner Ken Wahl brought charisma, credibility, and chutzpah to his small-screen role as Vincent Terranova, a handsome 30-year-old agent with the FBI’s Organized Crime Bureau. How does a deep-cover operative keep his sanity and morality intact when the criminal lifestyle he’s sworn to bring down from within is more compelling than his own? Federal Agent Vincent Terranova (Ken Wahl) is plagued by this question in this innovative take on 80s cop dramas. Created by veteran hit producer Stephen J. Cannell, Wiseguy veers from traditional ‘bad guy of the week’ police procedural by breaking the drama into multi-episode story arcs that followed an Organized Crimes Bureau case – and its charismatic criminal suspects – to its logical conclusion. No matter the cost to criminal, victim, or cop. GUEST STARRING: Jonathan Banks, Kevin Spacey, Ray Sharkey, Joan Severance, Fred Thompson, Jerry Lewis, Stanley Tucci, David Strathairn, Billy Dee Williams, and Steven Bauer. All 75 episodes from all 4 seasons, including the “Dead Dog Records” episodes!
NOTE: the DVD version of this title was released by VEI in July of this year. There were many questions from fans (and from us!) about whether the original broadcast music would be restored, as much of it was missing from the previous DVD sets of Wiseguy. Our thanks to reader Peter DiGiovanni, who purchased the DVD set from VEI and reported on our Facebook page that “I purchased the set and immediately put on the No One Here Gets Out Alive episode and NOPE no original music whatsoever, elevator music in place of Knights in White Satin, and to make matters worse…there’s even MORE music cut than before, Ray Sharkey’s rendition of Good Lovin is completely cut from this new release, but somehow was intact in the original Studio Works edition”; due to this report, we are asking you to be aware that the Blu-ray version from VEI will very likely have the same situation as VEI’s version on DVD.

This January Stream “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts,” “Peacemaker,” “Euphoria,” “The Gilded Age,” “The Fallout” And More On HBO Max

Start your New Year right with a parade of original programming coming to HBO Max all month long!

Join Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and other esteemed cast members and filmmakers across all eight Harry Potter films, as they travel back to Hogwarts for the first time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise’s first film, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” The retrospective special “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts” (1/1) will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time.

It’s a bird…it’s a plane… it’s our epic lineup of your favorite DC superhero series. “Peacemaker” (1/13) explores the origins of the character that John Cena first portrayed in James Gunn’s 2021 film, “The Suicide Squad” – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. To celebrate the debut of the Max Original, the first episodes of DC’s “Harley Quinn,” “Titans,” and “Doom Patrol” will be available to sample for free as part of the “Best of DC” collection on hbomax.com/watch-free.

An incredible collection of original programming arrives this January including the highly anticipated second season of “Euphoria” (1/9). Created, written and directed by Sam Levinson, starring Emmy(R) winner Zendaya, and produced in partnership with A24, the drama series follows 17-year-old Rue as she finds hope while balancing the pressures of love, loss, and addiction. The month also brings new drama series “The Gilded Age” (1/24) from “Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes, the second season of “The Righteous Gemstones” (1/9), the season premiere of the original comedy series “Somebody Somewhere” (1/16), the final season of “Search Party” (1/7), the season premiere of “Take Out with Lisa Ling” (1/27), and the season finale of “Station Eleven” (1/13).

SXSW multiple-award-winning feature “The Fallout,” debuts on HBO Max in January starring Jenna Ortega, Maddie Ziegler and Niles Fitch. The film follows high schooler Vada as she navigates the emotional fallout she experiences in the wake of a school tragedy. Her relationships with her family and friends, as well as her view of the world, are forever altered. The film will be released exclusively on HBO Max where available globally and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in the balance of international markets.
