The show’s stars also hint at some exciting bombshells this season that will surely delight fans. On air, each premiere episode will feature a behind-the-scenes short-form vignette, with extended versions available on Ovation NOW.

Season fifteen opens with Detective Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) as he journeys to Montreal, seeking to find and protect his son, Harry (Etienne Kellici), from the Black Hand gang. Murdoch’s wife, Dr. Julia Ogden (Hélène Joy), assists him with a challenging case at a women’s reformatory by going undercover, but back at the hospital she faces opposition and censure when she tries to assist a woman in grave pain, causing potentially irreparable damage to her career. Elsewhere, Brackenreid’s (Thomas Craig) son has sprung loose from jail and is on the run after a murder at the Kingston Pen; Crabtree (Jonny Harris) finds himself in a compromised situation as he tries to save Effie (Clare McConnell) from her kidnappers; Violet Hart (Shanice Banton) explores an interesting way to deal with her not-so-new husband; and Watts (Daniel Maslany), still embroiled in an illicit affair, encounters a brand-new murder mystery.

Other cases this season include a death threat against Dr. Sigmund Freud when he and his colleagues, including Carl Jung, visit Toronto for a lecture. At Halloween, a violent clown is tormenting young lovers and the shooting of a political cartoonist at an awards ceremony appears to have ties to journalistic jealousy and new development projects in the city of Toronto. Later in the season, the murder of a stage manager with compromising film images of actress Mary Pickford could complicate her path to New York and stardom. And when Murdoch, Ogden, Harry, Crabtree, and a team of ragtag players attend an out-of-town basketball tournament, Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, is implicated in the murder of the mayor.

Season fifteen’s guest stars include Colin Mochrie as Private Investigator-turned-psychotic murderer Ralph Fellows, Peter Stebbings as inventive entrepreneur James Pendrick, Peter Keleghan as intrepid spy Terrence Myers in a bizarre covert situation, and a special appearance by the champion Toronto Raptors’ coach Nick Nurse.

They worked together for over a decade, and enjoyed many hit duets before and after Dolly’s solo career took off with her classics Coat of Many Colors, Jolene, I Will Always Love You, and others. This special collection features historic performances from The Porter Wagoner Show and the Dolly series, spanning 1967-1977, and includes favorite songs not only by Dolly and Porter but other great country artists such as Tom T. * Maude – The Complete Series (Shout!)
$74.98 SRP DVD

—–Television history has given us many memorable, amazing women…and then there’s Maude. Bea Arthur (The Golden Girls) stars as the feisty and funny title character in Maude: The Complete Series, on DVD from Shout! Factory. Created by Norman Lear (All in the Family), Maude pushed the boundaries for network television during its six-year network run from 1972 to 1978. Often controversial and always refreshingly honest, the series never shied away from tackling the topical issues of the day, yet its depth of character and humor left audiences laughing all the way. Decades after its initial broadcast, Maude remains a benchmark in television for its sharp, intelligent writing, impressive supporting cast (including Bill Macy, Adrienne Barbeau, Conrad Bain and Rue McClanahan)…and of course, the amazing Ms. Arthur. In a role that earned her a well-deserved Emmy award, Bea Arthur created an indelible portrait of a fiercely liberated woman, paving the way for other noteworthy, female-driven sitcoms. 18-disc set.
NOTE: this title was first released on DVD in 2015, but that was a 19-disc set which is on its way out of print…once it sells out, it will be gone; this new 18-disc version will have all the episodes found in the previous release, but lacks the 19th DVD in the set, which was a Bonus Disc full of all the extras (we presume Shout!’s license for many of those extras has expired, necessitating the new bare-bones version of this item)

Murdoch’s associates, including his gruff boss Inspector Thomas Brackenreid (Thomas Craig), Constables George Crabtree (Jonny Harris), Henry Higgins (Lachlan Murdoch) and eccentric Detective Llewellyn Watts (Daniel Maslany), are valuable allies to help solve cases across the many stratums and evolving manners of Victorian society.
