Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Announces Upcoming TV Title from Warner Archive Collection in March

Burbank, CA (February 15, 2022) – Warner Bros. Home Entertainment brings consumers the opportunity to own more fan-favorite programming from the past several decades from the Warner Archive Collection. In March, the fourth season of the classic television show Head of the Class will be released via Warner Archive.

When good-natured substitute teacher Charlie Moore (Howard Hesseman) is assigned to teach Fillmore High School’s class of academically advanced students, everyone expects him to fail. In this fourth season of the classic sitcom, there are changes afoot in the students’ senior year in the IHP program at Millard Fillmore High.

That all changed with the talent show-themed short Beginner’s Luck (1935), where one competitor wouldn’t win first prize…but he would soon win fame as one of the most popular “Little Rascals” performers in the franchise’s history. HBO Max Releases First Look At Robin Givens In The Upcoming Max Original HEAD OF CLASS

All Ten Episodes Of The Max Original Family Comedy Debut November 4

HBO Max shared a first look of Robin Givens as an all-grown-up Darlene Merriman in the upcoming Max Original series HEAD OF THE CLASS, inspired by the 1980s sitcom of the same name.

The multi-camera family comedy, from executive producer Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso” and “Scrubs”) alongside executive producers and showrunners Amy Pocha (“Paradise PD,” “American Vandal”) & Seth Cohen (“Paradise PD,” “American Vandal”), will debut on the streaming service on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 35 years after the original series, created by Rich Eustis and Michael Elias, aired.

Character Description: A member of the original Individualized Honors Program (IHP), Darlene Hayward is an ambitious lawyer with a degree from Stanford. She wants what is best for her son and is hyper focused on setting him up for success. Darlene might need a reminder of the positive impact an out-of-the-box teacher can have, but she’s fighting for the good of all students at Meadows Creek High as co-head of the Parents’ Association.

Logline: HEAD OF THE CLASS revolves around a group of overachieving high school students who meet their greatest challenge — a teacher, Alicia Gomez (Isabella Gomez – “One Day at a Time”), who wants them to focus less on grades and more on experiencing life.

SEPTEMBER

AHIR SHAH: DOTS (Max Original Comedy Special)
Synopsis: In his first-ever stand-up comedy special, double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Ahir Shah discusses culture, politics, cigarettes, depression, adulthood, funerals, religion, children, love, and dead German sociologists. It is considerably funnier than it sounds. Featuring Shah’s signature blend of philosophical inquiry, personal examination, and sweet gags, Dots is his critically acclaimed stand-up show about the necessity, utility, and absence of certainty.

DOOM PATROL S3 (Max Original Drama Series)

Synopsis: “Doom Patrol” reimagines one of DC’s most beloved groups of superheroes: Robotman aka Cliff Steele (Brendan Fraser), Negative Man aka Larry Trainor (Matt Bomer), Elasti-Woman aka Rita Farr (April Bowlby) and Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), all led by modern-day mad scientist Niles Caulder aka The Chief (Timothy Dalton). Each member of the Doom Patrol suffered a horrible accident that gave them superhuman abilities, but also left them scarred and disfigured. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of superpowered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Season three opens on the culmination of Dorothy’s (Abi Monterey) confrontation with the Candlemaker that leads to a devastating loss. The Doom Patrol is at a difficult crossroads and each member struggles to face who they are and who they want to be. And things get a whole lot more complicated when Madame Rouge (Michelle Gomez) arrives in a time machine with a very specific mission, if only she could remember it.

NUCLEAR FAMILY (HBO Original Documentary Series)
Synopsis: NUCLEAR FAMILY, a three-part documentary series debuting Sunday, September 26 and airing subsequent Sundays at the same time, follows filmmaker Ry Russo-Young as she turns the camera on her own past to explore the meaning of family. In the late 70s/early 80s, when the concept of a gay family was inconceivable to most, Ry and her sister Cade were born to two lesbian mothers through sperm donors. Ry’s idyllic childhood was threatened by an unexpected lawsuit which sent shockwaves through her family’s lives and continues to reverberate today. An exploration of love, loyalty, loss and the immutable power of family in all its configurations, NUCLEAR FAMILY eloquently examines the dynamics that enrich and complicate the bonds of love. THE WAY DOWN (Max Original Documentary Series)
Synopsis: This five-part documentary series explores the Tennessee-based Remnant Fellowship Church and its charismatic leader Gwen Shamblin Lara, author and founder of the Christian weight loss program “The Weigh Down Workshop.” The series explores Lara’s rise to fame and power as a diet guru and church leader, revealing the surprising truth behind her carefully curated image and detailing the controversial practices of the church, including stories of abuse and exploitation as told by former members and others who were personally impacted. Gwen Shamblin Lara recently died in a plane crash along with six other church leaders, including her husband, Joe Lara.

Synopsis: Originally debuting on HBO in 2001 and presenting 100 episodes to date, the series stars “Seinfeld” co-creator Larry David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his fictionalized life. The comedy series continues to prove how seemingly trivial details of one’s day-to-day life – a cold cup of coffee, a stained shirt, a missing toothbrush – can precipitate a chain of misfortune to hilarious effect.

The rug pulled out from under him, he is plunged back into the search for the romantic fulfillment that he thought he had already found.

Synopsis: In season three, Selena will continue her cooking adventures at home with a new roster of all-star chefs that will help her whip up delicious dishes for special gatherings and celebrations. Like in its first two seasons, each chef will highlight a different charity each episode. To date, the series has raised $360,000 for 23 nonprofit organizations.

Synopsis: John Wilson, documentary filmmaker and self-described “anxious New Yorker,” made his HBO debut as writer, director, cameraman, executive producer and narrator of the critically acclaimed, six-episode docu-comedy series. In a uniquely hilarious odyssey of self-discovery and cultural observation, Wilson covertly and obsessively films the lives of his fellow New Yorkers while attempting to give everyday advice on relatable topics. Burbank, CA (June 15, 2021) – Warner Bros. Home Entertainment brings consumers the opportunity to own more fan-favorite programming from the past several decades from the Warner Archive Collection. In July, four new titles will be released via Warner Archive including Pennyworth: The Complete Second Season, C.B. Strike: Lethal White, Head of the Class: The Complete Third Season Available and The Herculoids: The Complete Original Series.

HBO Max has given a 10-episode series order to the new Max Original “Head of the Class,” from executive producer Bill Lawrence and executive producers/writers Amy Pocha & Seth Cohen. Production on the first season of the half-hour multicamera comedy from Warner Bros. Television and Doozer Productions is slated to begin in summer 2021 in Los Angeles.

Logline: “Head of the Class” revolves around a group of overachieving high school students who meet their greatest challenge – a teacher, Alicia Adams (Isabella Gomez – “One Day at a Time”), who wants them to focus less on grades and more on experiencing life.

—–The Faceless Ones is the mostly-missing eighth serial of the fourth season of Doctor Who, which was first broadcast in six weekly parts from April to May 1967. Starring Patrick Troughton as the Doctor, the story concerns a race of identity-stealing aliens known as the Chameleons. Only two of the six episodes are held in the BBC film archives, with snippets of footage and still images existing from the other four. Off-air recordings of the soundtrack also still exist, making the animation of a complete serial possible once again. The six new animated episodes are being made in full color and high definition.
NOTE: this title was previously scheduled for release in late July, but was then delayed until October 6th. It has now been pushed back again, this time to October 20th (a short delay). Package cover art (see attached collage) has now been finalized.

Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is a man of many faces. A former Olympic athlete, respected educator and father of two, he’s also Black Lightning, superpowered protector of Freeland.
