Speed Is Expensive Documentary film

EWAN MCGREGOR (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”, Doctor Sleep, Trainspotting) narrates SPEED IS EXPENSIVE, the highly-anticipated chronicle of an Australian collector that paid $1.2 million to own a Vincent Black Lightning – making it the most expensive motorcycle ever sold. The film will hit premiere in LA Sep 20, and digital/DVD Sep 26.
I was wondering if you’d like to talk to director David Lancaster, who will be available for interviews from September 14 to 25?

When the hammer came down on a Vincent Black Lightning motorbike at a Bonhams auction in 2018, an Australian collector paid $1.2 million to own the machine – making it the most expensive motorcycle ever sold.

And now an award-winning documentary, narrated by Ewan McGregor, tells the inside story of the motorcycle maverick behind the bikes, designer Philip Vincent.

Speed is Expensive: Philip Vincent and the Million Dollar Motorcycle receives its American premiere in Los Angeles, CA, on September 20 – followed by selected theatrical screenings and digital and DVD releases.

Vincent motorcycles set more records during the 1940s and 50s than any other manufacturer.The bikes were years ahead of their time, and Philip Vincent pioneered what is now known as ‘guerrilla marketing’ – sponsoring LA racers, in secret, to compete in illegal back-street duels to promote his motorcycles.

Owners include Brad Pitt and Ryan Reynolds.

Yet when Vincent passed away in 1979 he was penniless and reduced to living in public housing –his family fortune and personal life were both exhausted by his obsession with speed.
Ewan McGregor’s narration is joined by Vincent fans such as former Tonight Show host Jay Leno, and artist, musician and motorcyclist Paul Simonon of The Clash. The documentary also features the final interview with world champion on two and four wheels, John Surtees, who trained at Vincents.

Hours of unearthed personal films and audio interviews join accounts from Vincent’s family and the men and women who worked with him to provide an intimate portrait of a flawed genius.

Lifetime Announces new original film “Reba McEntire’s The Hammer”

Los Angeles, CA (June 30, 2022) – Lifetime reteams with award-winning entertainer Reba McEntire for Reba McEntire’s The Hammera new movie inspired by the life of traveling circuit judge, Kim Wanker, who hands down justice unlike anyone else.  This is Lifetime’s second collaboration with McEntire who also starred in and executive produced her 2021 holiday film, Reba McEntire’s Christmas in Tune. The Hammer also reunites McEntire with her Reba co-star Melissa Peterman and stars Kay Shioma Metchie and Rex Linn

The film follows Kim Wheeler (McEntire), an outspoken, firecracker lawyer who is appointed Judge of the 5th District of Nevada and is one of the few traveling judges left in America. After the reigning judge passes away under suspicious circumstances, Kim finds herself covering a circuit that stretches between Las Vegas and Reno — a rugged, often desolate area where anything and everything can happen. With gavel in hand, she lays down the law with a no-nonsense brand of justice, that quickly earns her the nickname “The Hammer.”  As the investigation of the former judge’s death heats up, Kim’s sister Kris (Peterman), who runs the local brothel, suddenly becomes the prime suspect, and Kim must work even harder to make certain the appropriate justice is served.

The film also stars Rex Linn as Bart Crawford, a mysterious cowboy with unknown motives and Kay Shioma Metchie as Vicky, the tough talking bailiff who serves as Kim’s right hand and trusted friend.
