BURBANK, Calif. (May 24, 2022): Today, Disney+ debuted the trailer and key art for the upcoming Original series, “Family Reboot.” Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Julian P. Hobbs and Elli Hakami, serve as executive producers on the series. “Family Reboot,” a six-part series that follows real families as they take a one-of-a-kind journey to reconnect, will launch on June 15, exclusively on Disney+.

“Family Reboot” follows families that have become so busy with their individual lives that they have lost touch with one another. In each episode, a family leaves their busy schedules, devices, and distractions behind for a week-long journey led by a “Family Reboot” guide focused on reconnecting and rebuilding their family bonds. They leave the journey completely “rebooted” – more connected, happier and ready to take on their busy lives at home again, but with an entirely new outlook.

A new kind of hero is in town, introducing Kiya & the Kimoja Heroes!

Coming from the Las Vegas Licensing Expo, Hasbro and its entertainment studio, eOne, are excited to present the new preschool series’ lead character and logo. Kiya & the Kimoja Heroes follows the high-action adventures of dance and martial arts-loving Kiya, and her best friends Jay and Motsie. Together, with their crystal-charged powers, they are superheroes in the Southern-African inspired Kimoja City, shining bright to make things right until harmony and unity is restored in their community. The show is set to launch globally on Disney+, amongst other platforms, in 2023.

Hasbro’s initial licensed consumer products program for Kiya focuses on toys, apparel, dress up, role play and publishing.

(May 20, 2022) – Disney+ has ordered a fourth season of its acclaimed original series “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” just ahead of its third season premiere, on July 27, 2022. Each of the 8 episodes of the third season will stream weekly on Wednesdays, exclusively on Disney+. The Disney Branded Television series, created and executive-produced by Tim Federle (“Ferdinand,” “Better Nate Than Ever”), is inspired by the successful, two-time Emmy Award-winning “High School Musical” franchise. The music-driven, GLAAD Media and Kids Choice Award-winning series has garnered record numbers for its soundtracks across the first two seasons and holiday special, with an astounding 2 billion combined streams to date.

(May 20, 2022) – Today, Disney+ announced that “ZOMBIES 3,” the much-anticipated third story in Disney Branded Television’s beloved musical franchise, will premiere globally on Friday, July 15 exclusively streaming on Disney+. The trequel, which introduces a new group of mysterious outer space aliens to the diverse student body of zombies, cheerleaders and werewolves at Seabrook High, will make its Disney Channel debut on Friday, August 12 at 8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT with a special encore premiere featuring additional bonus footage and a brand new “lost song” musical number. The multi-talented actor/host/recording artist RuPaul Charles (“RuPaul’s Drag Race”) joins the cast as the voice of “The Mothership,” a comedically passive-aggressive UFO that brings the aliens to earth.

“ZOMBIES 3” stars Milo Manheim as zombie Zed and Meg Donnelly as cheerleader Addison, who are beginning their senior year at Seabrook High in the town that’s become a safe haven for monsters and humans alike. Zed is anticipating an athletic scholarship that will make him the first zombie to attend college, while Addison is gearing up for Seabrook’s first international cheer-off. Then suddenly, extraterrestrial beings arrive in Seabrook, provoking something other than friendly competition. The movie also stars Chandler Kinney as Willa, Ariel Martin as Wynter, Pearce Joza as Wyatt, Carla Jeffery as Bree, Trevor Tordjman as Bucky, Kylee Russell as Eliza, Terry Hu as A-spen, Matt Cornett as A-lan, Kyra Tantao as A-li, James Godfrey as Bonzo and Kingston Foster as Zoey.

RuPaul Charles is the executive producer and host of TV’s global phenomenon “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” for which he has won 11 Emmys, the most awarded to any person of color. In 2017, RuPaul was included in the Time 100 list of the world’s most influential people. A San Diego native, RuPaul became a popular fixture on the New York City nightclub scene. He achieved international fame with the song “Supermodel (You Better Work)” from his 1993 debut album. He has written & recorded 17 studio albums to date. In 1995, he became the first face of MAC Cosmetics, raising millions for the MAC AIDS Fund and becoming the first man to land a major cosmetics campaign. The next year, he landed a TV talk show on VH1. He has appeared in over 50 films and television shows both in and out of drag. He has also published three books.

The movie soundtrack features eight new song and dance numbers that shake things up by leaning into current trends while encompassing an “out-of-this world” sound. The song “Alien Invasion” kicks things off with a sci-fi vibe and electronic track that evokes “Close Encounters,” while new songs for Zed and Addison — including a third rendition of their hit duet “Someday” — reflect how their characters have grown and changed. Meanwhile, the werewolves pursue the Aliens in “Come On Out,” an edgy song with a suspenseful feel. The digital soundtrack from Walt Disney Records will also be available on July 15.

“ZOMBIES 3” brand extensions will include a cross-category product line of apparel, costumes and toys, including a fashion doll line by Hasbro, which will be available as early as June.

DGA Award-winner Paul Hoen, who has directed a record-setting 15 Disney Channel Original Movies (“The Luck of the Irish,” “Jump In,” “Let it Shine,” “Camp Rock 2” and both “ZOMBIES” hits among them), directed “ZOMBIES 3” from a screenplay by David Light and Joseph Raso (nominees for a Humanitas Prize for “ZOMBIES”). In celebration of National Streaming Day, Disney+ has released a new trailer and key art for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Baymax!” Streaming exclusively on Disney+ on June 29, the all-new series of healthcare capers returns to the fantastical city of San Fransokyo where the affable, inflatable, inimitable healthcare companion robot, Baymax, sets out to do what he was programmed to do: help others. “I thought it would be fun to do a Disney+ series with Baymax interacting with normal folks,” said series creator Don Hall, who helmed 2014’s Oscar(R)-winning film “Big Hero 6.” “In each of our six episodes, Baymax just wants to help someone – and a lot of times they don’t want to be helped. He sets out to fix a physical issue that he’s identified, and in the process, gets to a deeper, more emotional place and can be almost transformative in that role.”

“Baymax!” is produced by Roy Conli and Bradford Simonsen. The series’ episodes are directed by Dean Wellins (Eps 1, 2, 6), Lissa Treiman (Ep 3), Dan Abraham (Ep 4) and Mark Kennedy (Ep 5). Screenwriter is Cirocco Dunlap. Scott Adsit returns as the voice of Baymax. (BURBANK, CA – May 18, 2022) – Disney Original Documentary and Disney+ announced today the feature documentary “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and The Years That Made His Legend.” From Academy Award-nominee R.J. Cutler and filmmaker David Furnish, the documentary will serve as the official feature on Elton John, comprised of unseen concert footage of him over the past 50 years, hand-written journals and present-day footage of him and his family. Following a robust festival run and limited theatrical release, the film will be available exclusively on Disney+.

Rooted in Elton John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour,” the feature documentary film will capture Elton John’s final months on the road, culminating in what promises to be one of the greatest send-offs in rock-and-roll history when John performs his final North American show at Dodger Stadium this upcoming November. The film will also look back at the extraordinary first five years of John’s career when, between 1970 and 1975, he released 10 iconic albums, seven of which went to No. 1 on the Billboard charts and became a global phenomenon.

Cutler will also produce the film under his company, This Machine Filmworks, as will David Furnish, who will produce under his and Elton John’s formed Rocket Entertainment. Trevor Smith will also serve as producer. Joining as executive producers are John Battsek, Jane Cha Cutler and Elise Pearlstein.

Disney+ has released a new trailer and key art for Marvel Studios’ “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.” Streaming exclusively on Disney+ beginning August 17, the new comedy series stars Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who specializes in superhuman-oriented legal cases.

Executive producer Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios and chief creative officer of Marvel, welcomed Tatiana Maslany to The Walt Disney Company’s 2022 Upfront presentation this afternoon at Basketball City on Pier 36 in New York. The pair shared details about the upcoming series, including the August 17 launch date, and debuted the new trailer for attendees.

Directed by Kat Coiro (Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9) and Anu Valia (Episodes 5, 6, 7) with Jessica Gao as head writer, “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. The nine-episode series welcomes a host of MCU vets, including Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong. The cast also includes Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry. The Walt Disney Company in Australia & New Zealand has today announced its first wave of local content commissions and acquisitions for Disney+ with nine Australian originals launching in 2022/23.

Announced at an event held at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art, the slate of local and sure to be loved content includes three Scripted drama series “The Clearing”, “The Artful Dodger”, “Last Days of the Space Age”; four Documentaries “Matildas: The World at Our Feet”, “Shipwreck Hunters Australia”, “Chasing Waves”, “Fearless: The Inside Story of the AFLW”; and two Lifestyle and Factual general entertainment series “Donna Hay Christmas” and “What’s Your Toy Story?”. Many of these shows will further expand Disney+’s adult-focused Star general entertainment offering.

The announced series are part of a significant investment by The Walt Disney Company in Australian and New Zealand local commissions.

SCRIPTED DRAMA

“The Clearing” is an Event Series adapted for screen based on J.P. Pomare’s novel In the Clearing and inspired by the real-life Australian cult The Family and its founder Anne Hamilton-Byrne, one of the rare female cult leaders in history. In this eight-part psychological thriller, a woman is forced to confront the nightmares of her past to stop a secret cult intent on gathering children to fulfil its master plan. “The Clearing” is produced by Wooden Horse’s Jude Troy (The Other Guy 1 & 2), in association with Egeria (Elizabeth Bradley), and is created and written by Matt Cameron (Jack Irish, Secret City) and Elise McCredie (Stateless, Ride Like a Girl) alongside co-writer Osamah Sami (Ali’s Wedding). Teresa Palmer (Discovery of Witches, Berlin Syndrome, Ride Like a Girl), Miranda Otto (The Usual Suspects, Fires, Homeland) and Guy Pearce (Jack Irish, Mare of Easttown) lead a stellar line-up of Australian talent including Hazem Shammas (Safe Harbour), Mark Coles-Smith (Mystery Road), Tom Budge (Bloom), Erroll Shand (True Colour, The Luminaries), Lily La Torre (Run Rabbit Run), and Ras-Samuel Welda’abzgi. “The Artful Dodger” is an international premium character drama set in 1850s Australia. It is a well-known and much-loved story, with a twist. Across eight episodes, the scripted series explores the adult double life of Charles Dickens’ famous prince of thieves – Dodger – now a surgeon, but who can’t shake his predilection for crime. The inspiration for two of his most famous characters, Fagin and Jack Dawkins aka The Artful Dodger, were transported to Australia for their crimes. The series takes place 15 years on from the events of Oliver Twist and is set in the frontier colonies of 1850s Australia. From high-octane heists to life-and-death surgeries, glittering parties to colourful streets, this series is a rock’n’roll tale about the double life of Dickens’ most famous prince of thieves with an Aussie connection. “The Artful Dodger” is a co-production with Sony and produced by Beach Road Pictures (with David Taylor and David Maher) and Curio Pictures (formerly Playmaker Media) (with Jo Porter). Jeffrey Walker (Young Rock, Lambs of God, Modern Family) serves as Director and the series is written by Andrew Knight, James McNamara, Jeffrey Walker, Vivienne Walshe and Miranda Tapsell.

“Last Days of the Space Age” is an eight-part dramedy series set in 1979 Western Australia, when Perth was at the centre of the world’s headlines. A power strike threatens to plunge the region into darkness, while the city hosts the iconic Miss Universe pageant and the US space station, Skylab, crashes just beyond the city’s suburbs. Against this backdrop of international cultural and political shifts, three families in a tight-knit coastal community find their marriages, friendships, and futures put to the test. “Last Days of the Space Age” is produced by Princess Pictures and directed by Bharat Nalluri (Shantaram, Little America, Spooks, The 100). The series is created and written by David Chidlow (Moving On, Hidden) along with writers Alice Addison (The Silence, The Devil’s Playground, Picnic at Hanging Rock), Dot West (The Heights), and Jeremy Nguyen & Alan Nguyen (Hungry Ghosts). DOCUMENTARIES

“Fearless: The Inside Story of the AFLW” is a world-first look at the AFL Women’s Competition (AFLW) and the powerhouse movement it has become for women in sport. The six-part series spotlights four clubs: Adelaide Crows, Collingwood, GWS GIANTS, and Western Bulldogs. This inspiring series is about more than football. With the AFLW at the forefront of celebrating diversity and inclusion and redefining gender norms, the series will explore the journey, sacrifice and history in the making, as the trailblazing women of the AFLW pave the way in professional sport and help change the sporting and cultural psyche of Australia. Cameras were rolling in April 2022 capturing the historic victory of the Adelaide Crows – taking their third AFLW premiership. “Fearless: The Inside Story of the AFLW” is produced by JAM TV Australia with filming taking place around Australia. Michael Venables directs, with Anne-Maree Sparkman as Executive Producer. Becky Taylor serves as Series Producer. Production is underway and has been capturing the action from the AFL Women’s Competition.

“Matildas: The World at Our Feet” is a docu-series going behind the scenes of the popular Australian national sporting team, the Matildas, and tracks the rise of women’s sport through incredible and immersive storytelling. Cameras have been following the Matildas as they prepare for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023(TM) on home soil alongside co-host New Zealand, with the story starting in the lead up to the first match of the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup. The six-part docu-series chronicles the highs and lows as well as the extraordinary teamwork, trust and spirit required – as the squad looks to create history and leave an unrivalled legacy for the sport in Australia and abroad. Production is underway, led by Executive Producers, Steve Bibb (Inside the Sydney Opera House, Shipwreck Hunters Australia) of Barking Mad Production and Christopher G. Cowen (Decades Series, College Football 150, State of Play) of STATION 10 Media, with Katie Bender Wynn (The Will To Fly) as Director. Fremantle and Boardwalk Pictures are lending services on this global production, with filming around Australia – from Townsville to Canberra – and across the globe in France, Sweden, Dubai and London.

“Shipwreck Hunters Australia” is a six-episode docu-series centred around a group of highly-skilled divers and underwater filmmakers – Captain Ash Sutton, Andre Rerekura, Nush Freedman, Johnny Debnam and Ryan Chatfield – along with expert maritime archaeologists from the Western Australian Museum, Dr Ross Anderson and Dr Deb Shefi. In each episode the team embark on an expedition to a remote location off the vast coast of Western Australia to uncover long-lost shipwreck secrets and make some world-first discoveries! Combining new evidence, archival research and all-out adventure “Shipwreck Hunters Australia” is a vibrant journey into the mysterious past led by modern day ocean explorers. The series is produced by VAM Media and Terra Australis Productions in association with Barking Mad Productions. It is Directed and Produced by Brendan Hutchens with Steve Bibb serving as Executive Producer and Katherine Barrett as Series Producer.

“Chasing Waves” is an eight-episode docu-series exploring the unique and wonderful surf culture in Japan, highlighting the dramatic push and pull between convention and innovation. By chronicling the lives of both the trendsetters and the traditionalists, the series paints a captivating holistic picture of the global surf industry – from Australian-Japanese surfer, Connor O’Leary to freestyle surfers, Olympic hopefuls and businesspeople trying to make their mark. The locally managed series is currently in post-production and is produced by Boardwalk Pictures with Jason Baffa (Loopers, Bella Vita, One California Day, Singlefin: Yellow) serving as Director and Executive Producer Christopher G. LIFESTYLE AND FACTUAL

“Donna Hay Christmas” is a four-episode series produced and hosted by Australia’s food and lifestyle icon, Donna Hay. Bringing to life stunning but simple recipes for the perfect entertaining and feasting, plus special styling moments for a truly magical Australian Christmas. With Benjamin Jones directing, the best-selling author, homewares entrepreneur and food stylist serves up a mouth-watering, quintessential Australian Christmas menu. The series will showcase Donna’s Christmas with the breathtaking Australian backdrop of beautiful Avalon Beach and its picturesque surrounds on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Donna Hay Christmas is produced by Donna Hay Productions.

“What’s Your Toy Story?” is an eight-episode factual series being developed with Australia’s own Rove McManus. The new original competition format series will see teams of kids and grownups show off their skills at creativity, innovation and storytelling as they bring their own toy stories to life. It will boast an epic, Pixar-inspired set and embrace everything the world loves about this iconic franchise. Hosted by TV legend Rove McManus, “What’s Your Toy Story?” is being developed with Guesswork Television and Roving Enterprises.

· Onyx Collective announced today that it has picked up “Unprisoned” as its first scripted comedy series. From creator Tracy McMillan. The eight-episode series is produced by ABC Signature and will be streamed exclusively on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in all other territories.

· Inspired by McMillan’s life, “Unprisoned” is a half-hour comedy about a messy but perfectionist relationship therapist and single mom whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son.

· Star and executive producer Kerry Washington (“Little Fires Everywhere,” “Scandal”) plays Paige Alexander, a marriage and family therapist and mom to 16-year-old Finn. Washington will produce along with executive producer Pilar Savone through their Simpson Street production company. Simpson Street is currently producing Onyx Collective’s legal drama “Reasonable Doubt” from ABC Signature.

· Delroy Lindo (“Da 5 Bloods”) executive produces and stars as Edwin Alexander, Paige’s father, who has recently been released from prison. Lindo recently starred in Spike Lee’s “Da 5 Bloods” (New York Film Critics Award’s Best Actor) and “The Harder They Fall” for Netflix. He has had memorable film roles in “The Cider House Rules,” “Heist,” “Ransom” and “Get Shorty,” and previously garnered acclaim for a trio of films with Spike: “Clockers,” “Crooklyn” and “Malcolm X.” Lindo will begin production on “Blade” for Marvel Studios this summer, and he will also be starring in Neil Gaiman’s limited series “Anansi Boys.”

ABOUT SIMPSON STREET

In 2016, Kerry Washington launched her production company Simpson Street, developing broadcast, cable and digital projects. The company’s debut film, HBO’s CONFIRMATION, starred Washington as Anita Hill. The film received Emmy, NAACP and Critics’ Choice nominations and won the WGA Award for Long Form – Original. In June 2018, Simpson Street launched “Five Points,” the first scripted series for Facebook Watch. A co-production with Indigenous Media, the second season dropped August 2019. In September 2018, the company made its Broadway debut with the critically acclaimed production of American Son, which also starred Washington. In January 2019, Washington announced that Simpson Street would be partnering with Netflix to adapt American Son for the screen. The production, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, was released as a Netflix Television Event. The film received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Television Movie. Simpson Street brought their latest film, THE FIGHT, to Sundance in January 2020, where Magnolia Pictures picked up the distribution rights. This documentary provides unprecedented access to 5 ACLU lawyers as they battle the previous administration’s attack on human rights and civil liberties – from the ‘Muslim Ban’ to abortion rights. It was released on-demand and in theaters in July 2020. In Spring 2020, Simpson Street and Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine collaborated on “Little Fires Everywhere” for Hulu. Both Witherspoon and Washington star in the limited series based on the best-selling novel by Celeste Ng. Washington received Emmy, SAG, and NAACP Image Award nominations for her portrayal of Mia Warren. The series received multiple NAACP Image Award and Emmy nominations, including ‘Outstanding Limited Series.’ Other projects in development include action-drama SHADOW FORCE in partnership with Sterling K.
