AMBITIOUS CHEFS BATTLE FOR THEIR FUTURE AND DREAM JOB IN “CHOPPED: DESPERATELY SEEKING SOUS CHEF”

Five-Part Tournament Premieres Tuesday, May 31st at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network

Sixteen Chefs Compete for Job Offer from the Chopped Judges

NEW YORK – April 14, 2022 – Talented and ambitious sous chefs step into the Chopped Kitchen for a chance at securing a life-changing opportunity in the new five-part tournament, Chopped: Desperately Seeking Sous Chef, premiering Tuesday, May 31st at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network. Hosted by the venerable Ted Allen, each episode of the tournament features four chefs showcasing their culinary skills over three rounds – appetizer, entrée, and dessert – as they are challenged to utilize the mystery basket of ingredients and create breathtaking dishes to impress judges Maneet Chauhan, Scott Conant and Chris Santos. The judges are critiquing the chefs’ cooking skills along with their attitude, leadership, and ability to multitask to determine who has what it takes to make it to the finale for a chance at winning the title of grand champion and a job offer by Scott, Maneet or Chris to join their restaurants as a sous chef.

Never have the Chopped judges had so much to lose and the chefs so much to gain. To succeed, the 16 chefs must have the stamina and strength to handle the pressure of the most prominent kitchens in America with just one chance to prove they are worthy of this opportunity. After the final elimination, the victorious chef gets to choose which enticing path to take from either Scott, Maneet and Chris. There hasn’t been a moment like this in Chopped history, with every part of the competition being the toughest job interview of these chefs’ lives.

“Chopped continues to push the boundaries with its competition format, with viewers tuning in each week for its compelling challenges, expert critique and pulse-racing entertainment,” said Courtney White, President, Food Network and Streaming Food Content, Discovery Inc. “The winner walking away with a life-altering opportunity from Chris, Maneet or Scott, all titans in their industry, is the ultimate Chopped prize.”

Throughout the competition the hungry chefs bring everything they have to the kitchen to show off their culinary techniques for their dream job. During the preliminary battles, the chefs must tackle an appetizer basket that includes fish-shaped cakes and a whole plant-based chicken, while a cut of meat proves problematic to work with in the entrée round that have the chefs scrambling to get dinner on the table for a potential future boss. In a dessert round, the judges wonder what to expect when they bite into caponata and galaxy gelatin cake as ingredients. Tensions are high as the four chefs who make it to the finale open the appetizer basket and find a fusion pasta and a delicacy from the sea. A specialty of Naples is the curveball ingredient of a difficult entrée basket, then, in the dessert round, a stinky fruit and a spicy ice cream are a part of the culinary puzzle.

Fans can get to know the competing chefs and get a sneak peek at some of the mystery basket ingredients at FoodNetwork.com/Chopped. Follow along with the competition on social media and tell us who you think should win the grand prize using #Chopped.

“CHOPPED’S” TED ALLEN STEPS OUT OF THE STUDIO AND ONTO THE TOWN TO FIND THE ULTIMATE PLACES TO DINE IN NEW COOKING CHANNEL SPECIAL “WHERE CHEFS EAT”

Special Premieres Wednesday, December 29 at 9pmET/6pmPT

NEW YORK – December 14, 2021 – Ted Allen knows about food. The Emmy and James Beard Award-winning personality is also a New York Times best-selling author and has long connected with viewers on Food Network’s fan-favorite culinary competition Chopped. Now fans have a chance to follow this food lover extraordinaire out of the studio and onto the town as he embarks on a mission to find the places where chefs, the ultimate foodies, break bread and satisfy their appetites. In Where Chefs Eat, premiering Wednesday, December 29 at 9pmET/6pmPT on Cooking Channel, Ted travels to Philadelphia and with the help of acclaimed chef Mike Solomonov, prepares to eat his way through the city, stopping at chefs’ favorite places and hidden gems along the way, tasting everything from vibrant blue dumplings that are as beautiful as they are delicious, an overflowing off-the-menu feast eaten directly by hand, out of-this-world sushi served up by a master at an exclusive, hidden sushi bar for those ‘in the know,’ and a sweet frozen treat that is transformative in more ways than one. From stop to stop, they will meet the proprietors of each establishment, learn the history of the chefs and their dishes, and get a unique insider’s view of the Philly food scene.

At Kalaya Thai Kitchen they meet Chef Nok Suntaranon who went from home cook and occasional caterer to acclaimed chef and restaurant owner in under two years. Her carefully layered flavors, meticulous selection of fresh ingredients, and exquisite presentation of dishes such as her signature blue flower-shaped Shaw Muang dumplings make her restaurant a must-eat spot. At Perla, they meet the Philippines-born Chef Lou Boquila who wanted to share his late mother’s cooking with the world when he opened his restaurant named after her. His Filipino tasting menu was a hit, but the real gem of this establishment is the meal that’s not on the menu, a whole table dining experience called the Kamayan Feast. No plates or utensils, just a giant spread meant to be eaten with your hands and shared with friends and family. For a palate cleanser and sweet treat, they head to Siddiq’s Real Fruit Water Ice. Chef-Owner Siddiq Moore wanted to improve his local community while bringing some refreshing, healthy treats to the area and soon realized his unique take on water ice was the vehicle that would achieve both goals. Now serving the most award-winning water ice, Siddiq’s biggest pride is how he’s been able to transform his neighborhood through his activism and efforts. Finally, Ted and Chef Mike head to meet Chef Jesse Ito, son of Japanese sushi pioneer Masaharu Ito, at Royal Izakaya, a hidden gem that is a playful and lively ode to Tokyo’s own “Izakaya” scene. With cleverly elevated Japanese bar small bites in the front, and an elegant reservation-only sushi bar hidden in the back, this is a one-of-a-kind Philly experience.

From fresh fruit frozen delights to a feast big enough to feed an army, Ted Allen and Chef Mike Solomonov explore Philadelphia’s best-kept food secrets and discover what makes it one of the best places to eat in America as they visit the places Where Chefs Eat.

WHAT MARTHA STEWART SAYS GOES ON “CHOPPED: MARTHA RULES”

Five-Part Tournament Premieres Tuesday, April 13th at 9pm on Food Network

NEW YORK – March 15, 2021 – Lifestyle expert, acclaimed cookbook author and Emmy(R) Award-winning television personality, Martha Stewart is taking over the Chopped kitchen in the new, five-episode stunt Chopped: Martha Rules, premiering Tuesday, April 13th at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network. Set in an outdoor kitchen in Kennebunkport, Maine, Martha calls the shots and changes all the rules, any way she wants, as sixteen fearless chefs must compete and learn to pivot to stay in the running for the $50,000 grand prize. Hosted by Ted Allen, each hour-long episode features four chefs working with a mystery basket of ingredients through three rounds – appetizer, entrée, and dessert – as they are challenged to create unique and delicious meals in a limited amount of time. But Martha has big surprises in store, turning Chopped upside down with curveballs thrown at the competitors every step of the way, including Martha taking control of the clock knocking the chefs off their game and adding a surprise fifth chef to battle against the competitors that make it to the dessert round. Joining Martha at the judges table are Marc Murphy and Marcus Samuelsson, who determine the winners from the preliminary heats that will meet in the finale for a chance to take home the pay day. Which champion can keep their head in the game, no matter what obstacles Martha throws in their path, and who will be chopped?

“Martha Stewart is the definitive authority for all things lifestyle, and there is no one better at making all the rules,” said Courtney White, President, Food Network. “Set in one of Martha’s favorite locations, beautifully rustic and scenic Kennebunkport, the challenges presented to the chefs have Martha’s signature style written all over them.”

The first group of competitors set out to make a stellar first impression, but Martha has a twist for them concerning the pantry, as the chefs will only have access to 10 essential pantry staples. Maine-inspired basket ingredients like blueberry pie and clam chowder set the scene for a sensational coastal feast. In another episode the chefs learn that Martha plans to have them switch cooking stations – and dishes – at any time. Extreme creativity and serious agility must be on display as the chefs need to stay focused and confident under the most peculiar and demanding of circumstances. And in the finale, Martha plans to pull out all the stops to make the road to $50,000 as rife with challenges as possible. In the appetizer round the chefs wonder what’s going on, when instead of a fourth ingredient, they spot some footwear in the basket. The entrée round sees the last three chefs working with a bountiful collection of New England-inspired gastronomic goodness, and an extra mandatory task in the dessert round promises to be both time-consuming and educational.

Fans can meet the chefs and learn more about Martha and her pantry essentials on FoodNetwork.com/Chopped. Follow along with the competition on social media using #Chopped.

IT’S NO HOLDS BARRED AS JUDGES FACE OFF AGAINST PAST COMPETITORS FOR LARGEST CASH PRIZE IN “CHOPPED” HISTORY ON “CHOPPED: GRUDGE MATCH”

Tournament Premieres Tuesday, January 5th at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network

Five-Part Stunt Features Sixteen Chefs, Made Up of Chopped Judges and Former Champions Competing for $100,000 and Bragging Rights

NEW YORK – December 11, 2020 – It is history in the making in the Chopped kitchen, as sixteen professional chefs made up of Chopped judges and former champions take their spots at the stoves in the five-episode stunt Chopped: Grudge Match, premiering Tuesday, January 5th at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network. Hosted by Ted Allen, each episode features some of the most brilliant stars in the game tasked with making unforgettable meals from a basket of mystery ingredients with a limited amount of time over three rounds – appetizer, entrée, and dessert – to prove they have what it takes to earn the largest cash prize awarded on Chopped – $100,000! But this tournament will be like no other, as it includes the cream of the crop going head-to-head as they are judged by a rotating panel at the Chopped judges’ table, including Michelle Bernstein, Nilou Motamed, Christian Petroni, and Geoffrey Zakarian to determine which competitors move on to the grand finale to take on one last trio of mystery baskets for bragging rights and score the biggest prize in Chopped history.

“The plan is simple – defeat the giants of Chopped and win the biggest prize in the competition’s history, but this tournament is anything but simple,” said Courtney White, President, Food Network. “With chefs with top-level skills returning to battle it out, including our very own judges playing for Discovery’s Turn Up! Fight Hunger, a partnership with No Kid Hungry, settling grudges and showing viewers what it takes to prevail in the Chopped kitchen.”

Through five episodes of grudge matches the competitors must showcase their culinary chops utilizing the mystery basket ingredients, including four defeated culinary heavyweights from the “Beat the Judge” series returning with a score to settle. One ambitious champion runs into two major problems toward the end of the first round, while something stinky in the entrée basket has the competitors nervous. Then, after both remaining champs cook their hearts out with the dessert basket, the judges have a gut-wrenching decision to make. In another episode, four Chopped deities – Tiffani Faison, Amanda Freitag, Marcus Samuelsson and Chris Santos – open the appetizer basket and find a strange fish dish and some tiny exotic fruits. A pizza topped with something wild is the star ingredient in the entrée basket, and a vegetable disguised as a meat is a treat in the dessert round. Other episodes include four Chopped champions who were previously defeated by the judges returning to the kitchen hungrier than ever to take down everyone in their paths; and see sparks fly when Chopped legends Maneet Chauhan, Scott Conant and Marc Murphy face off for a chance to represent the judges in the finale. But joining them is a contender who has earned the right to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best. The winners from each heat meet in this historic Grudge Match finale, featuring judges vs. champions! With two separate knockout rounds to determine which genius judge and brilliant champ make it to the $100,000 title fight, the stakes have never been higher. Who will score the biggest prize in Chopped history, and who will be chopped?

Fans can get to know the competing chefs and get a behind-the-scenes look at the competition at FoodNetwork.com/Chopped. Follow along with the competition and tell us who you’re rooting for on social media using #Chopped.
