TNT, TBS and truTV Announce Premiere Dates in March and April

Chad
Programming Slate Features New Series “Chad,” “Double Cross with Blake Griffin” and “Big Trick Energy,” Alongside Returning Fan-Favorite “American Dad!”

BURBANK, CA – January 21, 2021 – TNT, TBS and truTV unveil March and April premiere dates for three new and two returning shows. The programming slate includes TBS’ new single-camera comedy “Chad” (April 6) and returning top-rated animated comedy “American Dad!” (April 19). Two new series join truTV’s line-up, including limited series “Double Cross with Blake Griffin” (March 19-20) and magic prank show “Big Trick Energy” (April 15). Rounding out April, as previously announced, the “27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®” will be simulcast on April 4 on both TNT and TBS.

Premiere dates and series descriptions for TNT, TBS and truTV’s March and April slate include:

TBS

CHAD – Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT beginning April 6
“Chad,” a single-camera comedy, follows a 14-year-old pubescent Persian boy (Nasim Pedrad) as he navigates his first year of high school on a mission to become popular. Chad’s friendships and sanity are pushed to the limits as he uses every tactic at his disposal to befriend the cool kids, while enduring his mother’s new dating life and reconciling with his cultural identity. Pedrad, who first made her mark on “Saturday Night Live,” is also creator, writer, executive producer and showrunner on “Chad.”

AMERICAN DAD! – Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT beginning April 19
“American Dad!” centers on super patriotic CIA agent Stan Smith (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) and the misadventures of his unconventional family in Langley Falls, VA. Stan applies the same drastic measures used in his job at the CIA to his home life, where Stan’s blissfully unaware wife, Francine (Wendy Schaal), has an unfaltering loyalty that makes her blind to his unabashed arrogance. His left-wing activist daughter Hayley (Rachael MacFarlane), however, doesn’t let him off so easily – and knows just how to push her father’s buttons. Hayley’s brother is the geeky-yet-confident Steve (Scott Grimes), a kid who spends his time playing video games and obsessing about the opposite sex. The Smith cabinet is rounded out by two rather unconventional members: Roger (MacFarlane), a sassy, sarcastic and routinely inappropriate space alien, and Klaus (Dee Bradley Baker), an attention-starved goldfish with the brain of a German Olympic skier.

truTV

DOUBLE CROSS WITH BLAKE GRIFFIN (four-episode limited series) – Friday, March 19 at 5:30 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. ET/PT and Saturday, March 20 at 5:30 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. ET/PT
“Double Cross with Blake Griffin” serves up an incredibly devious twist as it offers a service to those who are all too often the victims of a prank. Magic is Pushed to the Limit As truTV Greenlights “Big Trick Energy”

Chris Ramsay, Eric Leclerc, Wes Barker and Alex Boyer Impress Unsuspecting People on the Street with Extreme Stunt Magic

LOS ANGELES – OCTOBER 27, 2020 – truTV has ordered 10 episodes of the comedic and outrageous unscripted illusionist stunt series “Big Trick Energy.” Best friends for more than 10 years, master magicians and mischievous daredevils Chris Ramsay, Eric Leclerc, Wes Barker and Alex Boyer venture into the real world to both shock and awe unsuspecting spectators – and each other – with their unique brand of extreme, provocative, mind-blowing magic. Fueled by their camaraderie and spontaneous antics, their radical, unconventional and even dangerous magic defies expectations and completely astonishes their subjects.

From shock collar card tricks to mind bending one of their own cars in broad daylight, no stunt is off limits and no line is uncrossable to these self-proclaimed “Abracadipshits.” Viewers will also get a peek behind the curtain when they reveal how some of these unforgettable experiences were created.

“They’re more magical Jackasses than self-proclaimed Abracadipshits, but it goes without saying that Chris, Eric, Wes and Alex are making magic cool again,” says Corie Henson, executive vice president, head of unscripted programming for TBS, TNT, and truTV. “They’re charming, dangerous and hilarious. You’ll definitely want to spend the night with them.”

“These guys are the real deal, as hilarious as they are amazing, sharing a bond of friendship and camaraderie that is at the heart of the show’s creative DNA,” says Tony DiSanto, CEO of DIGA Studios. “As a lifelong magic fan (and a spectacularly unaccomplished amateur magician), I personally couldn’t be more excited to unleash ‘Big Trick Energy’ onto the world!”

“Big Trick Energy” is executive produced by Tony DiSanto, Nick Rigg and Tommy Coriale for DIGA Studios, along with Chris Ramsay, Ian Frisch and Mark Efman.
