NEW YORK and DALLAS, April 8, 2022 – Today Discovery, Inc. and AT&T Inc.* (NYSE:T) announced that they have closed their transaction to combine the WarnerMedia business with Discovery. The combination creates a premier standalone global media and entertainment company, Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc., which will begin trading on the Nasdaq with the start of trading on Monday, April 11, under the new ticker symbol “WBD.”

Warner Bros. Discovery will create and distribute the world’s most differentiated and complete portfolio of content, brands and franchises across television, film and streaming. The new company combines WarnerMedia’s premium entertainment, sports and news assets with Discovery’s leading non-fiction and international entertainment and sports businesses, including Discovery Channel, discovery+, Warner Bros. Entertainment, CNN, CNN+, DC, Eurosport, HBO, HBO Max, HGTV, Food Network, Investigation Discovery, TLC, TNT, TBS, truTV, Travel Channel, MotorTrend, Animal Planet, Science Channel, New Line Cinema, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Turner Classic Movies and others.

Under terms of the agreement, which was structured as a Reverse Morris Trust transaction, at close AT&T received $40.4 billion in cash and WarnerMedia’s retention of certain debt. Additionally, shareholders of AT&T received 0.241917 shares of WBD for each share of AT&T common stock they held at close. As a result, AT&T shareholders received 1.7 billion shares of WBD, representing 71% of WBD shares on a fully diluted basis. Discovery’s existing shareholders own the remainder of the new company. In addition to their new shares of WBD common stock, AT&T shareholders continue to hold the same number of shares of AT&T common stock they held immediately prior to close.

The PUPPY BOWL XVIII Pre-Game Show begins exclusively on discovery+ and Animal Planet at 1PM ET/ 10AM PT where fan-favorite PUPPY BOWL sportscasters Rodt Weiler, Sheena Inu, James Hound, and field reports Mini Pinscher and Greta Dane provide the inside scoop on this year’s Puppy Bowl Draft ahead of the big game. The pre-game show spotlights exclusive interviews with coaches and players, a look at the adorable pups warming up and running their favorite routes during CHEWY’s ‘Play of the Day.’ In addition, audiences will get a first-look tease at the purr-fect halftime show through the ARM & HAMMER™ Clump & Seal™ Kitty Halftime Report. We’ll also get puppy DNA analysis from Wisdom Panel™ dog DNA test Players Report and catch up with several special puppy players past and present including Chunky Monkey, who won the hearts of many during Puppy Bowl XVII and Marshall, who was declared victorious as the winner of the Puppy Bowl XVII ‘Pupularity Playoff”. Those who tune-in will meet Biscuit, the Washington Capitals service pup who is training with America’s VetDogs and see a special look at the BISSELL Pet FoundationTM and their rescue efforts of transporting cats and dogs out of the Hurricane Ida danger zone to safety at Animal Welfare League in Alexandria, VA.

To kick off the game, special guests Elmo & Tango are traveling all the way from Sesame Street to gather the PEDIGREE® Starting Lineup players in the center of the field for the PUPPY BOWL XVIII coin toss to who from Team Fluff or Team Ruff will be the first to wag their tails! In addition, Elmo & Tango will be featured throughout the game as they cheer on one unforgettable pup, Wasabi, a Chihuahua/Cocker Spaniel mix from The Sato Project, from the sidelines throughout the game. As the game progresses, we will see which pup has what it takes for the one and only BISSELL Pet FoundationTM MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) award by scoring the most touchdowns. This pup will join a league of past MVP champions, and through TROPICAL SMOOTHIE CAFE®, audiences will catch up with a previous Puppy Bowl MVP now in his loving, forever home and living his best life “on Tropic Time”. In addition to these incredible Pup Close stories, PUPPY BOWL XVIII will also feature an unforgettable senior spotlight story featuring Mr. Lee Asher from the upcoming discovery+ series, My Pack Life, as he hosts Sharkey, a Greyhound Mix from Family Dogs New Life shelter at his own rural sanctuary, The Asher House, in Oregon where Sharkey will not have a day full of adventure but will have a chance of finding a forever home.

This year’s big game will feature the return of two special PUPPY BOWL moments– First, TEAM RUFF and TEAM FLUFF players will be cheered by adorable, adoptable puppy cheerleaders who will root and howl for their favorite players from the sidelines. On August 29, 2021, Hurricane Ida made landfall as a Category 4 storm, slamming Louisiana’s coastline with 150 mile per hour winds and catastrophic storm surge. One of the strongest storms in Louisiana’s history, Ida left a trail of devastation across the state and triggered a heroic response from emergency personnel, including the Wildlife Agents of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF). An all-new special episode of Animal Planet’s Louisiana Law offers a stunning up-close look at the Wildlife Agents’ missions during Hurricane Ida, from the hours leading up to landfall through the aftermath and recovery. LOUISIANA LAW: IN THE EYE OF HURRICANE IDA features Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Agents conducting search and rescue missions through the floodwaters and wrecked homes. With communications and utilities down, Agents bring their unique skillsets and equipment to the aid of their fellow Louisianans. In the aftermath of the hurricane, agents go door to door on humanitarian missions, getting critical supplies to those who need them the most.

“Louisiana experienced one of the most destructive hurricanes in the state’s history and we felt a responsibility to bring these search and rescue stories to our audiences,” said Amy Introcaso-Davis, Executive Vice President, Development and Production, Factual Programming, Discovery.

“What the public sees in this segment of Louisiana Law is the best example of how our agents immediately answer the call to help the great people of our state during times of disaster, while in some instances, those agents are leaving their own homes and families at risk,” said LDWF Secretary Jack Montoucet. “It is gratifying to see the resilience of the people our agents interacted with. They are the best examples of Louisianans who get stronger and battle back, both emotionally and physically, after catastrophes.”

“We are super proud of the job our agents did in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. From search and rescue to humanitarian and security patrols, our agents stepped up and performed their duties to the best of their abilities,” said Colonel Chad Hebert, head of the LDWF Enforcement Division. “This Hurricane Ida special of Louisiana Law showcases the job our agents did and also the spirit of the Louisiana people for the rest of the nation to see.”

In south Louisiana, Sgt. Scott Dupre conducts one last patrol in his St. Mary Parish neighborhood. He’s in the direct path of the storm and must balance protecting his home and family with his response to community search and rescue missions. Sgt. Dupre springs into action when he receives a distress call from injured guests stuck inside a flooded hotel in Houma, Louisiana Cpl. Mike Meserole leaves his family safely behind and joins a convoy of fellow Wildlife Agents heading south to Louisiana’s hardest-hit parishes He and Cpl. Mike Cook to help stranded boat captains clear an obstructed riverway, and assist a trio of shrimpers anxious to see whether their homes survived the hurricane.

Meanwhile, with no power, communications down and live mapping apps rendered useless, Sgt. Leroy Tarver is tasked with navigating unfamiliar flooded neighborhoods to rescue a stranded woman in distress. Sr. Agent Suni Nelson delivers lifesaving supplies to the people of LaPlace, where drinking water is contaminated, and food is scarce.

Series Spotlights the Bronx Zoo’s Groundbreaking Work in Animal Care and Welfare, Conservation and Education

The world-famous Bronx Zoo returns to Animal Planet, showcasing more incredible stories of remarkable animals and the dedicated staff who care for them. In the all-new season, THE ZOO dives back into the hard work and heartwarming moments of daily life at the Bronx Zoo’s 265-acre campus and its sister parks across New York City. Audiences will learn about the zoo’s groundbreaking work in animal care and welfare, conservation, and education. Season five of THE ZOO kicks off with a special two-hour premiere on Saturday, Oct.9 at 8PM ET/PT, with new episodes airing every following Saturday at 9PM ET/PT.

In the unforgettable premiere, a bevy of fascinating new animals find a home at the zoo. From a herd of Bactrian deer fawns on a journey to the Big Apple from Ohio, to a young red kangaroo named Troody growing into the shoes of a Bronx kangaroo legend, to a keel-billed toucan rescued from the dark world of animal trafficking, zoo staffers step up to provide a New York welcome for them all. Excitement is afoot for the zoos’ existing residents as well, as the gorillas experiment with a fashion-forward new enrichment and a trio of curious lynx kittens step into the public eye at the Queens Zoo. Audiences will also get an exclusive update on Nadia, the Malayan tiger who was the first animal in the US to be diagnosed with COVID-19.

“The dedication of our essential zoo and aquarium staff has never been more apparent than in Season 5,” said Jim Breheny, Bronx Zoo Director. “They continued to provide expert care to the animals each day throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic and never lost sight of our conservation mission. Staff in all of our WCS parks and those in zoos and aquariums around the world who braved the unknowns of the virus to ensure the daily needs of the animals were met are true heroes.”

This season, audiences will see the Bronx Zoo’s mission in action as a pair of endangered Coquerel’s sifakas are introduced in hopes that they will mate; Sydney, an adorable harbor seal pup rescued from a stranding in the wild, finds a new home at the New York Aquarium; and a pair of rehabilitated ospreys become ambassadors for their species. The zoo’s veterinary staff get creative by crafting a one-of-a-kind orthopedic shoe to help a tiny oscillated turkey chick walk.
