Anthology Series Introduces New Storyline for Season 2 of the Popular Thriller
New York, NY (January 6, 2022) – Terror Lake Drive, ALLBLK’s popular thriller following the terrorized tenants of the fictional Freeman Lake Apartments, has named the lead cast for its second season, entitled “Single Black Female.” Tony Award-nominated actress Pascale Armand (Eclipsed), Yolanda Ross (The Chi), Charles Malik Whitfield (Chicago Med), Denise Boutte (Meet the Browns), and Kendrick Cross (Ambitions) will star in the newest installment of the anthology series created by Jerry LaMothe (Blackout) and Kajuana S. Marie. The second season brings a new, unsuspecting tenant to the mystifying lakeside apartment complex that terrorized a mother and her young son in Season 1. Following a single mother from Baltimore who relocates to Atlanta in an attempt to escape her troubled past, the inaugural season starred Shannon Kane (The Originals), Malik Yoba (First Wives Club), Donielle T. Hansley Jr. (Charm City Kings), and Lamman Rucker (Greenleaf).

Terror Lake Drive: Single Black Female takes place two years after the chain of events that haunted the Freeman Lake Apartments in the first season. Deja (Armand), a traveling nurse who has recently completed an assignment in Austin, Texas announces her new assignment at the recently constructed Atlanta University Hospital – much to the dismay of her friends and colleagues. Amid her housing quest, she meets an awkwardly shy and eclectic Doula named Shana (Ross), who happens to be a nursing student at the university and is seeking a roommate – single Black female preferred. Oblivious to its checkered past, Deja makes herself at home with Shana at Freeman Lake…unknowingly becoming a target of the latest eerie coincidence to inhabit the troubled community.

Whitfield stars as Mayor Brown, an Atlanta native tasked with getting his city back on track amidst a string of missing Black women and a crime rate at an all-time high. Boutte plays the role of Deputy Mayor Kenya Sanderson, a single mother of two and rising star within the political circuit who plots to become Mayor Brown’s replacement.

Cross plays the role of Dr. Eric Matthews, a director and lead Neuroscientist at Austin Medical’s Behavioral Health Department. A brilliant and passionate physician who takes a liking to Deja, he is determined to pursue a relationship with her despite her impending relocation.

Terror Lake Drive: Single Black Female is directed by LaMothe, who also serves as executive producer alongside Marie, and Jumaane Ford under LaMothe’s J. LaMothe Entertainment banner. Errol Sadler, Chris Bongirne and Samad Davis serve as producers on the series. The 7-episode second season is currently slated to premiere in June 2022.

ALLBLK’S ‘À LA CARTE’ DRAMEDY ADDS KANDI BURRUSS, ROBINNE LEE, KELLY PRICE AND DORIEN WILSON

ALLBLK’S ‘À LA CARTE’ DRAMEDY ADDS KANDI BURRUSS, ROBINNE LEE, KELLY PRICE AND DORIEN WILSON AS SUPPORTING CAST

New York, NY (December XX, 2021) – À La Carte, ALLBLK’s upcoming scripted dramedy series following the Black millennial dating experience, today announced four new additions to the cast of its 6-episode first season. Kandi Burruss (Real Housewives of Atlanta, The Chi), Robinne Lee (Being Mary Jane, Fifty Shades of Grey films), Grammy-nominated singer, Kelly Price, and Dorien Wilson (The Parkers) have signed on to support the previously announced lead cast featuring Pauline Dyer (A Stone Cold Christmas), Jessie Woo (Wild N’ Out), Kendall Kyndall (Games People Play), Jenna Nolen and Courtney Burrell (Tyler Perry’s Too Close to Home).

Created by Breanna Hogan, the series follows Mahogany Rose (Dyer), an overachiever in her 20’s who’s had high moral standards her entire life…until now. After adopting a more “liberal” approach to sex and dating, she finally lands the man of her dreams, Kaleb (Burrell). There’s just one problem. He’s already spoken for. Accustomed to being number one, Mahogany must decide if she will stick to her preference of being the one and only – or step out of her comfort zone and learn to play number two.

Burruss will star as Nicole, a confident and unconventional beauty whose sex-positive, free-spirited nature leaves her open to whatever life brings her way. Owner of a local sex shop, Nicole is very wise and very well-informed. During the series she builds a connection with Mahogany’s close friend Misha Taylor (Woo), encouraging her to explore experiences beyond her perceived limitations.

Lee will play the role of Fabiola Ford, an extremely successful “Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada” type who is fierce, fabulous, and feared by all who work for her. A force to be reckoned with whose razor-sharp tongue and killer business instincts have paid off well, Fabiola has had to be twice as good and three times as smart as the gatekeepers and typical dominators of the fashion industry in order to reach the heights she has. Seeing a younger version of herself in Mahogany, Fabiola serves as a source of “tough love” for Mahogany when her dating challenges start spilling over into her work life.

Price and Wilson will star as Mahogany Rose’s parents, Lyric and Victor. Facing several difficulties in their own relationship, Lyric and Victor are always ready to offer Mahogany a shoulder to lean on and some heartfelt advice.

À La Carte is directed and executive produced by Dijon Talton and The Talton Company. Breanna Hogan and Meagan Good serve as executive producers on the series. Katrina Y. Nelson (ALLBLK’s Lace) and Christopher O’Conner serve as co-executive producers – the latter in association with Prodigi Arts Entertainment. Angela White serves as producer. General Manager, Brett Dismuke, and SVP of Development & Production, Nikki Love serve as executive producers for ALLBLK. Currently in production, À La Carte will premiere in spring 2022.

Augustin will recur as Adam, a Yale University graduate and elementary school teacher who truly is an all-around good guy. Smart, caring, and corny in a cute way, Adam is the “nice guy” that girls tend to overlook.

Merrell will play the role of Rodney, the longtime boyfriend of Mahogany’s roommate, Shyra Clemons (Nolen). Recently promoted at his sports agency, Rodney is the small-town kind of guy who moves to the big city and stays committed to his high school sweetheart – at least until the lure of new Hollywood success and enticing temptations draw his attention elsewhere.

Gil will recur as Derek, an Instagram model and fitness trainer with a secret only fans account. A good guy at heart, Derek is handsome, charismatic, and has no problem juggling several women at a time – his girlfriend included. The true definition of a “f*** boy,” Derrick becomes Mahogany’s “side chick sensei,” there to guide her with information and provide plenty of insight on why men cheat.

Avila will play the role of Ziyad, a smart young lawyer at a large Los Angeles law firm who just happens to be gay. Not one to get caught up in the hype of Hollywood or his profession, Ziyad is practical, ambitious, and has a genuine desire to help people – all character traits that make him very appealing to Mahogany’s moral compass, Reign (Kyndall).

Mandi will star as Bianca, a statuesque and incredibly stylish woman whose high-level career ambitions keep her on the move.

AMC NETWORKS’ ALLBLK STREAMING SERVICE GREENLIGHTS ‘SEND HELP’

AMC NETWORKS’ ALLBLK STREAMING SERVICE GREENLIGHTS ‘SEND HELP’

AMC NETWORKS’ ALLBLK STREAMING SERVICE GREENLIGHTS ‘SEND HELP’ DARK COMEDY SERIES FROM INSECURE’S JEAN ELIE AND MIKE GAUYO

New York, NY (November 30, 2021) – Building off the euphoria of a successful final season, two members of Insecure have come together to deliver a new entertaining series for fans with the latest greenlight from AMC Networks streamer, ALLBLK. Created by actor, Jean Elie (Colin in Black & White) and writer, Mike Gauyo (Ginny & Georgia) – Send Help is a coming-of-age dark comedy series about a first-generation Haitian American young man struggling to overcome the challenges of “making it” in Hollywood, whilst coming to terms with a recent family tragedy.

A young man with dreams of stardom relocates from Brockton, MA to Los Angeles, CA in pursuit of a career as an actor, all while trying to be the new “man of the family,” and exploring what the LA dating scene has to offer. Throughout the series, Fritz fights to conquer his feelings of imposter syndrome, the Hollywood community, his incredibly demanding Haitian family and a looming family tragedy. Rather than address his shortcomings head on, he chooses to deny and avoid the issues that everyone else can see.

“Elevating the diversity of content available on ALLBLK has been top of mind for us as we prepare for the next year ahead,” says Brett Dismuke, General Manager of ALLBLK & WE tv. “Send Help will introduce a new perspective to our programming library that we anticipate will reach audiences across genders, age groups, and cultures – while also addressing emotional situations with comedic relief.”

Send Help creator and star, Jean Elie stated, “Send Help is a love letter to my family and others living with tragedy. It’s also a shoutout to first generation Americans daring to step into creative fields despite being discouraged by their immigrant families. I hope young people will see what’s possible when you step out of your own way and defy society’s limits.”

Co-creator, Mike Gauyo, added, “This is a series about Haitian people just existing. Not as caricatures or stereotypes, but as fully formed, normalized, human beings sharing the same space as everyone else, while sharing unique experiences that feel universal. I’m incredibly proud of this series and can’t wait to see it on air.”

Send Help’s 7-episode first season will be directed by Stewart Yost (Guardians of Justice). Matt Hoklotubbe, Michael J. McGarry and Francesca Smith will produce in association with Whistle Studios. General Manager, Brett Dismuke, and SVP of Development & Production, Nikki Love will serve as executive producers for ALLBLK. Production is set to begin early next year with the series slated for premiere in the fall.

New York, NY (November 18, 2021) – À La Carte, the new dramedy from Breanna Hogan, Dijon Talton and Meagan Good recently greenlit at ALLBLK, today announced the principal cast for its 6-episode debut season.
