ALLBLK’S ‘À LA CARTE’ DRAMEDY ADDS KANDI BURRUSS, ROBINNE LEE, KELLY PRICE AND DORIEN WILSON

ALLBLK’S ‘À LA CARTE’ DRAMEDY ADDS KANDI BURRUSS, ROBINNE LEE, KELLY PRICE AND DORIEN WILSON AS SUPPORTING CAST

New York, NY (December XX, 2021) – À La Carte, ALLBLK’s upcoming scripted dramedy series following the Black millennial dating experience, today announced four new additions to the cast of its 6-episode first season. Kandi Burruss (Real Housewives of Atlanta, The Chi), Robinne Lee (Being Mary Jane, Fifty Shades of Grey films), Grammy-nominated singer, Kelly Price, and Dorien Wilson (The Parkers) have signed on to support the previously announced lead cast featuring Pauline Dyer (A Stone Cold Christmas), Jessie Woo (Wild N’ Out), Kendall Kyndall (Games People Play), Jenna Nolen and Courtney Burrell (Tyler Perry’s Too Close to Home).

Created by Breanna Hogan, the series follows Mahogany Rose (Dyer), an overachiever in her 20’s who’s had high moral standards her entire life…until now. After adopting a more “liberal” approach to sex and dating, she finally lands the man of her dreams, Kaleb (Burrell). There’s just one problem. He’s already spoken for. Accustomed to being number one, Mahogany must decide if she will stick to her preference of being the one and only – or step out of her comfort zone and learn to play number two.

Burruss will star as Nicole, a confident and unconventional beauty whose sex-positive, free-spirited nature leaves her open to whatever life brings her way. Owner of a local sex shop, Nicole is very wise and very well-informed. During the series she builds a connection with Mahogany’s close friend Misha Taylor (Woo), encouraging her to explore experiences beyond her perceived limitations.

Lee will play the role of Fabiola Ford, an extremely successful “Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada” type who is fierce, fabulous, and feared by all who work for her. A force to be reckoned with whose razor-sharp tongue and killer business instincts have paid off well, Fabiola has had to be twice as good and three times as smart as the gatekeepers and typical dominators of the fashion industry in order to reach the heights she has. Seeing a younger version of herself in Mahogany, Fabiola serves as a source of “tough love” for Mahogany when her dating challenges start spilling over into her work life.

Price and Wilson will star as Mahogany Rose’s parents, Lyric and Victor. Facing several difficulties in their own relationship, Lyric and Victor are always ready to offer Mahogany a shoulder to lean on and some heartfelt advice.

À La Carte is directed and executive produced by Dijon Talton and The Talton Company. Breanna Hogan and Meagan Good serve as executive producers on the series. Katrina Y. Nelson (ALLBLK’s Lace) and Christopher O’Conner serve as co-executive producers – the latter in association with Prodigi Arts Entertainment. Angela White serves as producer. General Manager, Brett Dismuke, and SVP of Development & Production, Nikki Love serve as executive producers for ALLBLK. Currently in production, À La Carte will premiere in spring 2022.

ALLBLK’S ‘À LA CARTE’ DRAMEDY ADDS DANIEL AUGUSTIN, MIKE MERRILL, JUAN GIL

ALLBLK’S ‘À LA CARTE’ DRAMEDY ADDS DANIEL AUGUSTIN, MIKE MERRILL, JUAN GIL, XAVIER AVILA AND NAZANIN MANDI AS SUPPORTING CAST

New York, NY (December 2, 2021) – À La Carte, ALLBLK’s upcoming scripted dramedy series following the Black millennial dating experience, today announced several new additions to the cast of its 6-episode first season. Daniel Augustin (David Makes Man), Mike Merrill (All American), Juan Gil (A Second Thought), Xavier Avila (Pretty Dudes), and Nazanin Mandi (Twenties) have signed on to support the previously announced lead cast featuring Pauline Dyer (A Stone Cold Christmas), Jessie Woo (Wild N’ Out), Kendall Kyndall (Games People Play), Jenna Nolen and Courtney Burrell (Tyler Perry’s Too Close to Home).

Augustin will recur as Adam, a Yale University graduate and elementary school teacher who truly is an all-around good guy. Smart, caring, and corny in a cute way, Adam is the “nice guy” that girls tend to overlook.

Merrell will play the role of Rodney, the longtime boyfriend of Mahogany’s roommate, Shyra Clemons (Nolen). Recently promoted at his sports agency, Rodney is the small-town kind of guy who moves to the big city and stays committed to his high school sweetheart – at least until the lure of new Hollywood success and enticing temptations draw his attention elsewhere.

Gil will recur as Derek, an Instagram model and fitness trainer with a secret only fans account. A good guy at heart, Derek is handsome, charismatic, and has no problem juggling several women at a time – his girlfriend included. The true definition of a “f*** boy,” Derrick becomes Mahogany’s “side chick sensei,” there to guide her with information and provide plenty of insight on why men cheat.

Avila will play the role of Ziyad, a smart young lawyer at a large Los Angeles law firm who just happens to be gay. Not one to get caught up in the hype of Hollywood or his profession, Ziyad is practical, ambitious, and has a genuine desire to help people – all character traits that make him very appealing to Mahogany’s moral compass, Reign (Kyndall).

Mandi will star as Bianca, a statuesque and incredibly stylish woman whose high-level career ambitions keep her on the move.

ALLBLK’S ‘À LA CARTE’ NAMES PAULINE DYER, JESSIE WOO, KENDALL KYNDALL

ALLBLK’S ‘À LA CARTE’ NAMES PAULINE DYER, JESSIE WOO, KENDALL KYNDALL, JENNA NOLEN AND COURTNEY BURRELL AS LEAD CAST

New York, NY (November 18, 2021) – À La Carte, the new dramedy from Breanna Hogan, Dijon Talton and Meagan Good recently greenlit at ALLBLK, today announced the principal cast for its 6-episode debut season. Pauline Dyer (A Stone Cold Christmas), Jessie Woo (Wild N’ Out), Kendall Kyndall (Games People Play), Jenna Nolen and Courtney Burrell (Tyler Perry’s Too Close to Home) will lead the cast of the scripted series centered on the Black millennial dating experience and a 20-something overachiever’s journey to adapting her dating deal breakers.

Dyer stars as Mahogany Rose, a gorgeous, young go-getter who is the epitome of perfection. The type who usually makes the right decisions, Mahogany has always had somewhat of a whimsical idea of how her love life would turn out. But when she meets Kaleb Myles (Courtney Burrell), a charming and charismatic man who checks off nearly all her boxes, she’s forced to reconsider her typical standards as she discovers that he falls short of a critical characteristic on her list – being single.

Mahogany’s friend circle keeps her on her toes while helping her navigate her newfound situation-ship. Misha Taylor (Jessie Woo) is a bold and liberal jokester who lives her life out loud in every way. Inside the classroom, Misha is the perfect 2nd grade teacher but outside of work walls, Misha owns her own voice and puts her sass on display. Reign Moore (Kendall Kyndall) is a Calabasas, CA native who serves as the moral compass of the friend group. Cut off from his privileged lifestyle by his father, Reign considers making some questionable decisions for money. Shyra Clemons (Jenna Nolen) is a traditional southern belle with southern views and morals to match. An Animation and Digital Arts graduate student, Shyra is Mahogany’s roommate and longest friend.

À La Carte is directed and executive produced by Dijon Talton and The Talton Company. Breanna Hogan and Meagan Good serve as executive producers on the series. Katrina Y. Nelson (ALLBLK’s Lace) and Christopher O’Conner serve as co-executive producers – the latter in association with Prodigy Arts Entertainment. Angela White serves as producer. “À LA CARTE”: ALLBLK GREENLIGHTS NEW HALF-HOUR DRAMEDY SERIES FROM DIJON TALTON AND MEAGAN GOOD

New York, NY (November 08, 2021) – ALLBLK, the popular streaming service for Black TV and film from AMC Networks, continues to push the envelope with an original series premiere-filled year and more still to come. ALLBLK’s latest greenlight, À La Carte, is a scripted, dramedy series about the Black millennial dating experience and one girl’s journey to the last place she ever thought she would end up… on the side.

Created by publicist, Breanna Hogan, the series follows Mahogany Rose, an overachiever in her 20’s who’s had high moral standards her entire life… until now. After adopting a more “liberal” approach to sex and dating, she finally lands the man of her dreams, Kaleb. There’s just one problem. He’s already spoken for. Accustomed to being number one, Mahogany must decide if she will stick to her preference of being the one and only – or step out of her comfort zone and learn to play number two.

Kicking off with a 6-episode order, À La Carte will be directed and executive produced by Dijon Talton and The Talton Company. Meagan Good (The Intruder, Think Like a Man) will also serve as an executive producer on the series, along with Katrina Y. Nelson (ALLBLK’s Lace) and Christopher O’Conner – who will produce for Prodigy Arts Entertainment. Angela White will serve as producer. General Manager, Brett Dismuke, and SVP of Development & Production, Nikki Love will serve as executive producers for ALLBLK. Casting is currently underway with production set to begin in mid-November.

“ALLBLK has had an exciting year of premieres, and 2022 is gearing up to be just as exciting, if not more so,” said Brett Dismuke, General Manager of ALLBLK & WE tv. “Tales of the dating scene today are ripe for great storytelling, and the plot of À La Carte is a tale that is sure to ignite passionate conversations and fiery debates among friend circles everywhere.”

À La Carte director, Dijon Dalton added “We are so excited to have À La Carte as our first production at the newly formed, The Talton Company. À La Carte is full of young, beautiful, bold, and nuanced Black characters who are funny, flawed, and on an intimate journey to figure out their lives. It’s the revolutionary act of just existing in Black love and joy for an age group of friends that often goes underserved in Hollywood. We couldn’t be prouder and more excited to partner with ALLBLK on bringing this special gem to life!”
