“M*A*S*H: WHEN TELEVISION CHANGED FOREVER” CELEBRATES THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE GROUNDBREAKING TV SERIES

Special Premieres Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT with Cast Members Jamie Farr, Mike Farrell and Jeff Maxwell Sharing Their Recollections From the History Making Television Series

(Albuquerque, NM) Tuesday, August 23, 2022 – REELZ today announced a new original special M*A*S*H: When Television Changed Forever celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Korean War themed comedy drama that premiered on September 17, 1972 and ran for 11 seasons that would become a beloved television juggernaut culminating in more than 106 million people tuning in for the series finale in 1983 – a record that still stands today. Through new exclusive interviews with cast members Jamie Farr (Cpl. Maxwell Q. Klinger), Mike Farrell (Capt. B.J. Hunnicutt) and Jeff Maxwell (Pvt. Igor Straminsky) along with producers and writers the special explores the brilliant series that lasted four times longer than the war it was set in and its delicate straddling of the line between comedy and drama at a time when evening news about the Vietnam War was beaming to television sets every night across America.

M*A*S*H also had many creative firsts never before seen in television dramas which included killing off a main character and weaving together multiple storylines in a single episode. M*A*S*H also broke barriers in television taking bold risks tackling issues of racism, gays in the military and anti-war sentiment. But what viewers didn’t see on screen were the struggles that left the show hanging by a thread on more than one occasion including its lukewarm reception by audiences to its first season that almost led to its cancellation. M*A*S*H: When Television Changed Forever premieres Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT.

“M*A*S*H had a tremendous impact on television with powerful storytelling that could be both hilarious and horrific often in the same scene,” said Steve Cheskin, SVP of Programming at REELZ. “We’re excited to show viewers the magic that made M*A*S*H as we mark its 50th anniversary with the real stories from people who lived it.”

In M*A*S*H: When Television Changed Forever cast and crew reveal their battles with network executives to keep the show alive, their first days on set, favorite episodes, what they think made the show a mega hit and why it endures today. The special also retraces the franchise history including its source material the 1968 novel “MASH: A Novel About Three Army Doctors” and the Academy Award(R) winning movie M*A*S*H starring Elliott Gould who in a new interview shares the story of how he won the coveted role of Capt. John Francis Xavier “Trapper John” McIntyre. Series executive producer Burt Metcalfe and writers Ken Levine and Gary Markowitz discuss stylistic firsts in the series that were considered risky at the time with episodes shot in different perspectives including a soldier’s point of view after being wounded and becoming a patient inside the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital and a black and white documentary style episode complete with real life war correspondent Clete Roberts interviewing M*A*S*H characters. And in true M*A*S*H fashion real events would find their way into key storylines after a fire tore through the Malibu set before production wrapped on the monumental series finale. The two hour series finale was expanded by another 30 minutes after it was decided to weave in stories about the fire much to the satisfaction of network executives who sold 30 second commercial spots in the series finale for the same price as those in the Super Bowl that year. M*A*S*H: When Television Changed Forever is produced by AMS Pictures.

On Sunday, August 7 original series Autopsy: The Last Hours of… returns with the real story about one of the most influential rock and roll artists ever in Buddy Holly whose brief life came to a violent end in a tangle of twisted metal at the edge of a frozen Iowa cornfield in the winter of 1959. Holly was just 22 years old but his influence on music is beyond measure. The modest and unassuming young Texan was there at the very start of rock and roll creating a style that influenced Bob Dylan, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones among many others. His official autopsy report states that he died of multiple traumas but questions remain about his state of mind to be on the flight. The conditions before takeoff were minus nine degrees with strong winds and official reports stated the flight was “unwise”. Holly had usually traveled via bus so now Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Buddy Holly” at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT examines the circumstances in his life that led him to take the flight in such poor conditions and if there was something in his medical history that could help explain his decision making that day.

Paul Walker was a beloved action movie star blessed with good looks and charisma to match. His real life love for cars led to the role of undercover cop Brian O’Conner in The Fast and the Furious and in a twist of fate his passion for motorsports would play a role in his demise. On November 30, 2013 Walker died when the supercar Porsche in which he was a passenger spun off an LA street. How it happened baffled crash investigators. Walker had spent years in fast cars and the Porsche driver had professional racing experience so what exactly happened on that fateful day? In Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Paul Walker” on Sunday, August 14 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Hunter examines his autopsy report, two extensive crash investigation reports and first-hand accounts from friends present the day of the crash to show what happened and if any health factors contributed to the crash. The O’Conner role led to global stardom for Walker just as Chadwick Boseman’s role as superhero Black Panther T’Challa in the Marvel franchise spawned legions of fans around the world. Before Black Panther Boseman had already built an acting legacy with memorable roles as Jackie Robinson in 42 and James Brown in Get on Up. On Sunday, August 14 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Chadwick Boseman” celebrates his powerful career and examines his tragic and untimely death. Boseman died of colon cancer at just 43 years old but the survival rate at his age is between 72-90% so was there something in his health history that contributed to his shocking passing and did his rigorous work schedule interrupt screenings that could have caught the cancer earlier? Sharing the path of being a young and hard working actor who is also a talented martial artist like Boseman was Brandon Lee. He was rising talent who was establishing a name for himself following in the footsteps of his movie and martial arts legend father Bruce Lee. But a freak accident on a movie set killed Brandon after he was hit in the abdomen by a projectile from a gun that was supposed to be shooting blanks. The bizarre onset accident shocked the world and his death became shrouded in mystery, controversy and conspiracy. On Sunday, August 14 at 11pm ET/ 8pm PT Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Brandon Lee” explores the theories surrounding his death and examines the medical circumstances of his death given that nearly 90% of victims of single gunshot wounds to the abdomen survive.

Johnny Carson was the undisputed king of late night TV with more than 5,000 episodes over a 30 year run with an average of 38 million viewers for his shows during the 1960s. His final appearance as host of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in 1992 attracted more than 50 million viewers. His perfect formula of light-hearted reviews of the day’s news, super star guests and silly sketches made him an entertainment icon on screen but off screen he battled the respiratory illness emphysema. After he started smoking at just 13 years old Carson claimed he stopped smoking more than a decade before his death at 79. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Johnny Carson” on Sunday, August 21 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT celebrates the late-night legend and examines his lung condition and the other contributing health factors that cost him his life. In 1973 a then up and coming comedian Freddie Prinze appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and was such a hit he became the first young comedian to be asked to sit for an interview with Carson. At the time Prinze was 19 years old and after the hit performance his comedy and acting career took off. But it was just three years later that Prinze would commit suicide ending a bright and promising career. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Freddie Prinze” on Sunday, August 21 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT presents his short but successful career with a look at what was happening in his personal life and his health that might have created the perfect storm leading him to his final act. Closing out August 2022 premieres and marking the 25th anniversary of the tragic death of Princess Diana is Diana: The Ultimate Truth delving into the lingering questions surrounding the car crash that took her life. On Sunday, August 28 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT Diana: The Ultimate Truth features security experts and crash investigators who are speaking out for the first time about working with Diana in her final days. COPS – Every Thursday in August features six back-to-back episodes of the original COPS making their REELZ premieres starting at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. The original reality ride-along series and pioneer of the unscripted television explosion takes viewers coast to coast and to the front lines with the men and women of American law enforcement where the action is visceral, unpredictable and as real as it gets. COPS is produced by Langley Productions.

On Patrol: Live -New episodes every Friday and Saturday starting at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. Host and executive producer Dan Abrams reunites with former Tulsa Police Department Sgt. Sean “Sticks” Larkin alongside Deputy Sheriff Curtis Wilson. Together, they provide minute-by-minute live analysis as the series documents for viewers in real time the everyday work of police officers on patrol from diverse departments across America. On Patrol: Live will also engage the community by inviting them into the series. “Citizen Ride-Alongs” will give local residents, within the communities of the departments appearing on the show, a first-hand perspective as they ride along with officers followed by On Patrol: Live cameras on live nights; “Citizens On-Set” invites community members into the studio as guests where they can share their Ride-Along experiences and observations and comment on the night’s live activities. Both features offer a unique opportunity for viewers and members of the community to gain unprecedented access to law enforcement – from routine calls and high-stakes incidents to tracking down fugitives of justice and recovering missing children. The live show content is complemented by public-service segments dedicated to finding missing children and tracking down America’s worst and most wanted criminals. It all adds up to the most dynamic and compelling show on live TV where the promise of “anything can happen” and “I’ve never seen that before” is always delivered to the viewer. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Buddy Holly” premieres on Sunday, August 7 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. Buddy Holly’s brief life came to a violent end in a tragic plane crash that also claimed the lives of fellow singers the Big Bopper and Richie Valens. Holly was just 22 years old but his influence on the history and development of rock and roll is beyond measure. The modest and unassuming young Texan was there at the very start of rock and roll creating a style that influenced Bob Dylan, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones among many others. The official report lists Holly’s cause of death as gross trauma to the brain combined with multiple fractures and lacerations. He died on impact. But the crash report also describes the flight as “unwise”. His aircraft took off in minus nine degrees and with a storm in his flight path. How did the writer of such luminous hits as “Peggy Sue”, “That’ll Be the Day” and “Oh Boy!” come to strap himself into a small plane in the early morning hours of a frigid and stormy Midwest night? Now renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter analyzes the details of his case to understand the circumstances behind Holly’s death. The singer often appeared to be a man in a hurry. He was always pushing – trying to make things happen. Did Holly push too hard to make the trip? Is there something in his medical history that could help explain his fateful decision to board the doomed flight? Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

On Patrol: First Shift premieres on Friday, August 12 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. Dan Abrams, Sean “Sticks” Larkin and Curtis Wilson discuss what’s in store for the upcoming episode of On Patrol: Live and provide a sneak peak of the departments and officers that the cameras will be following. The hosts will also look back at the most memorable moments from past episodes including everything from police pursuits to encounters with unforgettable suspects, as well as inspiring acts of heroism and courage under fire. New episodes of On Patrol: First Shift will air on Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT leading into the new episodes of On Patrol: Live. On Patrol: First Shift is produced by Half Moon Pictures for REELZ.

On November 30, 2013 the shocking news that star of Hollywood action franchise The Fast and the Furious Paul Walker had died. In a tragic twist of fate for the lifelong car racing enthusiast the 40-year-old heartthrob was killed in a high speed car accident. The ultimate action hero Walker had a thirst for thrills etched into his DNA maternal grandfather raced cars at the famous Bonneville Speedway. Walker and the action movie industry became a perfect fit earning him a fortune and the means to indulge his passion for fast cars. But after a decade contracted to The Fast and the Furious series Walker was looking beyond movies after reconnecting with his daughter and launching his own disaster relief charity. During a Thanksgiving break from filming the latest turbo-charged outing of the multi-million franchise Walker hosted a charity event featuring a bevy of custom cars. Walker and his business partner Roger Rodas took a quick spin around the block in rare Porsche supercar but something went terribly wrong and the pair perished in a horrific accident. But what exactly happened? Now renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter examines the details of the crash to determine what caused the crash and if there was anything in Walker’s medical history that led to him not being behind the wheel and in control of his fate. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Chadwick Boseman” premieres on Sunday, August 14 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT. On August 28, 2020 the iconic superhero Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman died from cancer at just 43 years old leaving fans shocked as many including friends and colleagues were unaware he was even battling colon cancer. Boseman was known for dedicating himself completely to important roles including Thurgood Marshall and Jackie Robinson so after seeing his weight loss fans thought he might have been losing weight for a role but Boseman was quietly fighting to live after a colonoscopy in 2016 revealed stage III colon cancer. The survival rate for colon cancer at his age of diagnosis at 39 is between 72-90% so why was his life cut so tragically short? Now renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter will examine all of the available records including Boseman’s medical history and first hand accounts about his life from family, friends and colleagues including his bodyguard Charles Carter and biographer Mia Johnson to understand why this shining star was died so young. Boseman was known for dedicating himself to his work and with the rigorous demands of being on set and frequent travel did his busy schedule prevent him from crucial cancer screenings further delaying proper treatment? Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Brandon Lee” premieres on Sunday, August 14 at 11pm ET/ 8pm PT. On March 31, 1993 the world was shocked by the news that 28-year-old Brandon Lee son of martial arts legend Bruce Lee was fatally shot on the set of The Crow in what was to be his breakout role. But how could an accident like this happen when the gun that fired the fatal shot was supposedly loaded with blanks? The freak accident was so rare that speculation swirled around its circumstances including a terrifying similarity between the Brandon shooting and a scene in his father’s movie The Game of Death in which his character is killed by a real bullet in a hail of fake rounds. As part of their investigation authorities even tracked down possible ties to organized crime. Now renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter explores the many theories surrounding his death and more importantly how the supremely fit martial artist died from an abdominal gunshot wound when the chances of survival seemed to be stacked in his favor as nearly 90% of victims of single gunshot wounds to the abdomen survive. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Johnny Carson” premieres on Sunday, August 21 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. The undisputed king of late night TV Johnny Carson died in Los Angeles in January 2005. His humor and laid back demeanor attracted the biggest stars night after night and his famed monologues helped viewers take in the day’s news with a wry smile. But away from the cameras Carson was a troubled man haunted by an emotionally impoverished childhood leading to heavy drinking and womanizing in his adult life. Carson paid a heavy price for the stresses in his personal and professional lives. A heavy smoker from childhood he was diagnosed with the lung disease emphysema nearly 20 years before his death which made it increasingly hard for him to breathe and took a heavy toll on his heart culminating in a heart attack in 1999 and his death six years later from respiratory arrest. Now renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter examines Carson’s life story and medical history to find out how his struggles with emotional and physical health combined to end the life of this entertainment giant. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Freddie Prinze” premieres on Sunday, August 21 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT. Freddie Prinze was a standout talent in the New York City stand-up comedy scene who rocketed to fame after appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson at just 19 years old. Soon after he scored a starring role as Chico Rodriguez on the primetime sitcom Chico and the Man. But Prinze struggled to balance his fast rise to fame and fortune with the demands of being a husband and young father. His recreational drug use spiraled into full-blown dependence and his behavior became increasingly impulsive and reckless. Was it all becoming too much for Prinze to handle? On January 29, 1977 the world was stunned by the news that Prinze had taken his own life at the age of 22. Now renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter analyzes every detail in his medical records to piece together what exactly caused this bright young comic with the world at his feet to take his own life. Was there something else going on inside his body that could’ve influenced his decision making? Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Diana: The Ultimate Truth premieres on Sunday, August 28 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. In August 1997 the world mourned the loss of a global icon in Diana the Princess of Wales. A decade after her death an official British inquest concluded the car crash in which she died was caused by the grossly negligent driving of her chauffer Henri Paul and the group of paparazzi photographers who were following them. But now 25 years later many questions about what happened and who is responsible still remain. Featuring exclusive never before heard interviews Diana: The Ultimate Truth features former detective and investigative journalist Mark Williams-Thomas examining some of the theories that have emerged since Diana’s death and will set out to answer key questions: Could Diana have actually survived the crash if she had been treated differently at the scene? What impact did Diana’s explosive and controversial BBC Panorama interview have on the final years of her life and did the interview set off a chain of events that actually led to her death? And, finally, was the British establishment involved in her death? The investigation by Williams-Thomas includes exclusive interviews with security expert Grahame Harding who speaks out for the first time about being hired by Diana to examine her phones and personal living quarters out of concerns for wiretaps and microphones. Also interviewed photographers at the Metropolitan Police involved with the case as well as close friends of Diana and people involved with the infamous BBC interview. (Albuquerque, NM) Tuesday, June 28, 2022 – REELZ today announced its July 2022 premieres led by the July 22 premiere of new series On Patrol: Live reuniting host and executive producer Dan Abrams with former Tulsa Police Department Sgt. Every week in July includes eight back-to-back episodes of the original hit documentary real life series COPS making their REELZ premieres showcasing the adrenaline filled unscripted action from the front lines of law enforcement across America.

Wynonna is an American icon and country music superstar who like the subjects of our new Story of Their Songs specials are still growing their legends selling out stadiums decades after their first hits.”

July 2022 premieres begin Sunday, July 10 with Def Leppard: Story of Their Songs at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT chronicling the six songs that powered the meteoric rise of the Sheffield England rockers from breaking into American charts with “Photograph” to embracing the music video with “Rock of Ages” and battling back from disaster with “Animal” after drummer Rick Allen lost an arm in a car accident. Def Leppard’s quest to top the U.S. charts finally happens in 1988 with the emotive power ballad “Love Bites” and their barnstorming rock anthem “Let’s Get Rocked” along with the seismic and immortal song “Pour Some Sugar on Me”. While the UK heavy metal influx in America was in full swing late 1980s many bands including Def Leppard had to go head to head on U.S. charts with five rockers from New Jersey. With more than 130 million album sales and 15 studio albums over a career spanning five decades Bon Jovi and its namesake lead singer Jon Bon Jovi are certified global superstars. But what was the inspiration behind the three songs that defined the band’s biggest moments? Bon Jovi: Story of The Songs on Sunday, July 10 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT explores the making of their 1987 smash hit number one single “Livin’ on a Prayer” that spent 22 weeks on U.S. charts to the game changing 1994 crossover power ballad “Always” and the track that rejuvenated the band in “It’s My Life” and introduced Bon Jovi to a whole new generation of fans.

With an incendiary cocktail of dark visuals and blistering sound Mötley Crüe epitomizes rock and roll excess. For more than four decades Mötley Crüe has lived life on the edge selling more than 100 million albums and are still selling out stadiums with the recent start of their latest North American tour. Now Mötley Crüe: Story of Their Songs on Sunday, July 17 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT reveals the inspiration behind the hits that propelled them to rock immortality. From their debut hit “Live Wire”, ramping up the controversy with “Looks That Kill” and surprising everyone with an epic and poignant ballad “Home Sweet Home” to the anthemic “Dr. Feelgood”, the unapologetic “Girls, Girls, Girls” and the electrifying hit “Kickstart My Heart” inspired by the brush with death experience of co-founder, bassist and songwriter Nikki Sixx. With Mötley Crüe serving up full throttle performances they set a high mark for potent showmanship but not to be outdone four musicians from Mechanicville PA would leave their own glam metal mark on rock and roll. Poison has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide and are still rocking audiences as part of 2022 The Stadium Tour with Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Poison: Story of Their Songs on Sunday, July 17 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT uncovers the inspiration behind the songs that took Poison from humble beginnings living in abandoned buildings to the top of the charts from their first and risqué hit “Talk Dirty to Me” to the signature ballad that was almost never released in “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” to the track that left fans puzzled over the exact meaning behind “Unskinny Bop”.

On Friday, July 22 at 9pm ET/PT new series On Patrol: Live premieres with host and executive producer Dan Abrams, Sgt. Sean “Sticks” Larkin and Deputy Sheriff Curtis Wilson live on set every Friday and Saturday night from 9pm ET – 12am ET/PT as they provide minute-by-minute live analysis as the series documents for viewers in real time the everyday work of police officers on patrol from diverse departments across America.

As one of the most influential rock bands of all time KISS changed the game for live performances. The band pushed creative boundaries in spectacular shows in their famous regalia of towering platform shoes, black leather, bare chests and signature face paint creating generations of diehard fans. But the shock and awe of a live KISS show wasn’t translating to strong record sales until the breakthrough hit “Rock and Roll All Nite” recorded with a live audience sent the band soaring to success. KISS: Story of The Songs on Sunday, July 24 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT also explores their dramatic change in direction with the disco inspired “I Was Made for Loving You” that shook up the KISS fanbase known as the KISS Army before doing it again with their radical reinvention for the 1983 hit “Lick It Up” that saw the band famous for its anonymity and wild looks ditch the makeup and costumes to forge an entirely new identity. As KISS was shocking fans with live performances in the mid-1970s an ocean away UK band Judas Priest was finding its footing en route to pioneering heavy metal with their blueprint of piercing high vocals, dual lead guitars and a sound that was meant for full volume. In Judas Priest: Story of Their Songs on Sunday, July 24 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT exclusive fresh interviews with lead vocalist Rob Halford and bassist Ian Hill reveal the inspiration behind the songs that made Judas Priest so influential from the pulsating “Breaking the Law” to U.S. breakthrough “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming” before boldly pushing boundaries with “Turbo Lover”. Halford and Hill discuss the long held secrets of the band and how they survived adversity to continue their rock legacy.

Closing out July 2022 premieres with a poignant real life story is Wynonna Judd: Love is Alive on Sunday, July 31 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT featuring the Country Music Hall of Fame artist in her own words discussing the soaring highs and crushing lows of life at the pinnacle of country music. Wynonna gives an intimate account of the whirlwind rise to fame and success as country music’s only mother daughter duo alongside her mother Naomi as the pair charted 14 number one hits and sold more than 20 million records over a three decade career together. COPS – Starting Friday, July 1 at 7pm ET/ 4pm PT every week in July features eight back-to-back episodes of the original COPS making their REELZ premieres. The original reality ride-along series and pioneer of the unscripted television explosion takes viewers coast to coast and to the front lines with the men and women of American law enforcement where the action is visceral, unpredictable and as real as it gets. COPS is produced by Langley Productions.

Def Leppard: Story of Their Songs premieres on Sunday, July 10 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. With two diamond albums and more than 100 million records sold Def Leppard is one of the most beloved bands ever. Now Story of Their Songs spotlights the epic tracks that helped take Def Leppard from teenaged hopefuls from Sheffield England to the top of the rock music world. From the soaring single “Photograph” and embracing the music video for “Rock of Ages” to comeback hit “Animal”, their fun super anthems “Let’s Get Rocked” and “Pour Some Sugar on Me” to topping U.S. charts in 1988 with the ballad “Love Bites” the legacy of Def Leppard is not without its heartbreaking lows. Those within the Def Leppard camp recall how the band bounced back from the massive dual blows of drummer Rick Allen losing an arm in a car accident and the tragic death of guitarist Steve Clark. Recording engineer Craig Thomson remembers the taxing sessions in the studio where perfectionist producer ‘Mutt’ Lange pushed the band to breaking point with his recording style. As director of the “Photograph” and “Rock of Ages” music videos David Mallet reveals the strong group-first mentality and attitude behind the band’s success while the “Animal” music video director Jean Pellerin tells the story of lead singer Joe Elliott and his ordeal at the hands of a circus knife thrower. Story of Their Songs is produced by Viacom International Studios UK.

Bon Jovi: Story of The Songs premieres on Sunday, July 10 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT. With a towering career spanning five decades with 15 studio albums and more than 130 million album sales Bon Jovi set the bar for mega rock bands. Now the stories of three songs that turned the New Jersey hopefuls into rock legends come to life including their 1987 hit “Livin’ on a Prayer” which sold three million copies alone and was result of working with famed songwriter Desmond Child for their second consecutive number one hit in a row after “You Give Love a Bad Name”. The other half of the band’s main songwriting duo included its namesake Jon Bon Jovi and lead guitarist Richie Sambora who’d been with Bon Jovi since the very beginning. But after two consecutive number one albums and nearly a decade of touring the world fans thought it was a story coming to an end when rumors began to spread about a band breakup. Relief came in the form of 1992 album “Keep the Faith” with its stylistic changeup power ballad “Always”. Bon Jovi survived fallouts and lineup changes only to reinvent itself with the wildly popular “It’s My Life” that rejuvenated the band and tied together elements of “Livin’ on a Prayer” that would introduce a whole new generation of fans to Bon Jovi. Sharing his story as record label executive Derek Shulman recalls how he came to sign the band and his first conversations with Jon Bon Jovi. Producers Bob Rock and Luke Ebbin reminisce about working with Bon Jovi in the studio and renowned music video director Wayne Isham along with producer Curt Marvis share their insights on the making of some of the band’s most iconic music videos. Story of Their Songs is produced by Viacom International Studios UK.

Mötley Crüe: Story of Their Songs premieres on Sunday, July 17 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. These are the stories of the six unforgettable songs that took Mötley Crüe from hopefuls playing gigs on the Sunset Strip to giants of heavy metal who are still selling out stadiums more than four decades after first releasing their debut hit “Live Wire”. The band was inspired by their love of Alice Cooper and 1970s British glam rock to create early classics like “Live Wire” and the darker “Looks That Kill” with a music video that sent shockwaves through America. Their growing success was nearly stopped entirely after lead singer Vince Neil caused a tragic fatal car accident while driving under the influence. The band known for celebrating debauchery and decadence had to shift gears leading them to power ballad territory with their version of “Smokin’ in the Boys Room” and a complete change in sound with “Home Sweet Home.” The band flexed its staying power at the top of the charts with its fourth album “Girls, Girls, Girls” and the signature single of the same name that reminded fans Mötley Crüe is still the band of wild excess. Putting an emphatic stamp on their legendary status their fifth album “Dr. Feelgood” told stories of the band’s battle with drug addictions and the brush with death co-founder, bassist and primary songwriter Nikki Sixx experienced that inspired their iconic “Kickstart My Heart” anthem. Sharing their Mötley Crüe stories are producer Tom Werman who recalls eating sushi with Sixx the night after the bass player had famously briefly died after a drug overdose while producer Bob Rock marvels at being in studio when a newly sober Mötley Crüe turned up to make the landmark “Dr. Feelgood” album. Story of Their Songs is produced by Viacom International Studios UK.

Poison: Story of Their Songs premieres on Sunday, July 17 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT. As one of the most beloved glam metal bands ever Poison had humble beginnings with its four original members sleeping in an abandoned dry cleaning building when they first arrived in LA from Mechanicsville PA. With the band still touring in 2022 they’ll be celebrating nearly 40 years of glam metal mastery. Story of Their Songs explores the inspiration behind three Poison hits that took them from supporting act to being the main event including their first Billboard hit with “Talk Dirty to Me” off their debut album “Look What the Cat Dragged In” as producer Jim Faraci recalls how the band literally showed up to his front door unannounced. “Talk Dirty to Me” music video director Jean Pellerin reveals how he captured the band’s sense of fun showmanship and feelgood energy helping it become an MTV favorite. Inspired by a breakup experienced by lead singer Bret Michaels the poignant 1988 ballad “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” was met with serious resistance from the record company with executives saying it was “too country”. After its release the song would become their biggest ever hit peaking at number one on the Billboard chart. More hits followed including the pop rock smash “Unskinny Bop” and road crew manager Riki Valentine reveals the true meaning behind that funny song title. Despite their huge success it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Poison. Those close to the band including producer Faraci and video director Shane Stanley share memories of the fallouts and excess that went on behind the scenes culminating in Bret Michaels and guitarist C.C. DeVille coming to blows backstage at the 1991 MTV Music Video Awards. Story of Their Songs is produced by Viacom International Studios UK.

KISS: Story of Their Songs premieres on Sunday, July 24 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. Fire breathing guitars, instruments being smashed on stage and a blood-spitting persona known as The Demon made KISS concerts legendary. But despite the buzz KISS record sales didn’t reflect attendance figures. Backed into a corner KISS bet big on themselves recording a live album to capture their concert hype. The standout track “Rock and Roll All Nite” with its blistering opening vocals from Simmons and the anthemic chorus lit the match for their success. The late 1970s saw disco sweeping the globe and a lot of rock music fans shunning it but some bands embraced it including KISS and co-founder Paul Stanley leading to the disco inspired 1979 hit “I Was Made for Lovin’ You”. Drummer Anton Fig shares his stories of playing drums for “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” and creating some of the song’s unique sounds. Despite years of record success and a lucrative merchandising operation by the early 1980s the KISS brand of rock was aging against fresh acts including Mötley Crüe and Bon Jovi. Then the unthinkable happens when lead guitarist Ace Frehley quits KISS sending the band into freefall. With popularity plummeting Simmons and Stanley gambled big again with a complete image overhaul along with a musical reboot. In forging a new identity KISS shed the wild leather outfits, stage personas and makeup releasing the 1983 hit “Lick It Up.” KISS art director Dennis Woloch recalls the group’s early days and the struggles the band faced before making it while engineer Jay Messina recalls the drama and subterfuge behind one of their biggest hits. Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider, Megadeth’s Marty Friedman and guitar virtuoso Steve Vai reveal their love for the band and their stories of hearing the most memorable songs from KISS. Story of The Songs is produced by Viacom International Studios UK.

Judas Priest: Story of Their Songs premieres on Sunday, July 24 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT. Judas Priest led a heavy metal wave out of the UK in the 1970s and never took their foot off of the gas pedal. Still touring five decades later in 2022 Judas Priest laid their own foundation for a sound and style that would serve as inspiration for countless heavy metal bands. Now in fresh interviews lead vocalist and heavy metal legend Rob Halford and bassist Ian Hill share the stories of the three songs that defined Judas Priest and helped shape the genre of heavy metal music. Halford discusses the iconic 1980 hit “Breaking the Law” with one of the most celebrated guitar riffs in history and the social unrest that inspired its lyrics. After disappointment when their next album “Point of Entry” failed to make the big breakthrough Judas Priest began work on “Screaming for Vengeance” but it still lacked a hit. Producer Tom Allom recalls how the band revisited throwaway material from prior recording sessions and played what he calls a “magic take” that became the basis for the band’s U.S. commercial breakthrough in “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming”. After overcoming intra-band turmoil in the mid 1980s Judas Priest returned to the studio with a new sound. The single “Turbo Lover” with its glam metal and synthesizer sounds was a marked departure for Judas Priest that rankled longtime fans. Halford shares his personal inspiration for “Turbo Lover” lyrics while renowned music video director Wayne Isham talks about its wild music video that would attract a new generation of Judas Priest fans. Story of The Songs is produced by Viacom International Studios UK.

Produced by Half Moon Pictures, Big Fish Entertainment’s new production arm focused on crime and investigative content, ON PATROL: LIVE builds on REELZ’s commitment to original programming focused on real stories and real lives, and brings significant new live original programming to its viewers nationwide.

Hosting and executive producing ON PATROL: LIVE is Dan Abrams, CEO and Founder of Abrams Media, host of Dan Abrams Live on NewsNation, Chief Legal Analyst for ABC News, and former host of Live PD. Live on set every Friday and Saturday night, the trio will provide viewers minute-by-minute live analysis and context, offering unique insight into the experiences of the men and women of law enforcement appearing on the show.

Said Abrams, “Law enforcement is front and center in the national discussion, and our hope is that showing the work of police officers in a live format will provide viewers with direct access to the work they do. I’m thrilled our team is finally back together and excited that REELZ has committed to making this show front and center on their network.”

Stan E. Hubbard, CEO of REELZ, said, “We’ve been in contact with Half Moon for some time and strongly believe that REELZ is the perfect home for ON PATROL: LIVE, which will add to our network as the cornerstone of our commitment to commissioning brand-defining, must-see original programming. “A live policing show like this provides an unfiltered, unvarnished look at what police officers are doing on a daily and nightly basis across America,” said Captain Tracey Cantrell, Division Commander with the Lawrence Police Department in Lawrence, IN. “The value of showing the reality of law enforcement to the community we serve cannot be overstated. Seeing it all as it really happens allows the public to reach their own conclusions and form their own ideas and opinions.”

Added Chuck Archie, a member of South Carolina’s Richland County Citizens’ Advisory Council, an all-volunteer community group established to increase professional competence and public accountability at the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, “Transparency is an absolute requirement when it comes to policing. We are a diverse group in every way – race, socioeconomics, politics and so much more – which is why giving local law enforcement the community perspective on issues is so important, and conversely, why it’s so important for the community to be able to see what officers are doing. We see a live show like this as having a positive effect on our process.”

Numerous offers for the series were made by multiple broadcasters, streamers and digital platforms; Half Moon Pictures ultimately closed a licensing deal with REELZ, which committed to a significant episode guarantee. Half Moon Pictures shares international and other rights for the show with REELZ, and will serve as the distributor of those rights moving forward.
