2022 “VMAs” announce Kane Brown as Toyota Stage headliner with first-of-its-kind Mixed Reality activation from The Famous Group

Brown makes history as the first male country artist to perform on the show

· Global entertainer Kane Brown is set to make an epic “VMAs” debut from the Toyota Stage with a first-time TV performance of “Grand,” the new single from his highly-anticipated third album Different Man, dropping September 9th.
· Brown continues to make “VMAs” history as the first male country artist to perform on the iconic show. Last year, he was the only country artist to receive a 2021 nomination (“Video for Good” for his emotionally charged single “Worldwide Beautiful”).

· This marks Toyota’s fourth year as exclusive sponsor of “VMAs” remote performances, continuing its tradition of partnering with MTV to activate innovative in-show moments, this year using cutting-edge Mixed Reality technology, powered by The Famous Group – the creative technology company behind high-profile mixed reality activations in the Super Bowl, MLB All-Star Game, and NFL Wild Card Slime Game on Nickelodeon.

· Fans will be treated on a musical journey from NYC to New Jersey in the stylish and versatile Toyota Corolla Cross with Kane Brown’s hit “Be Like That” serving as the soundtrack for the trip, leading into his performance on the Toyota Stage.

· “Creating unforgettable cultural moments that weave our partners into the fabric of our award shows by leveraging innovation is Velocity’s gold standard, and this year’s remote performance at the VMAs will be no exception,” said Dario Spina, CMO, Velocity, Paramount. “Toyota continues to be an incredible partner and we’re excited for The Famous Group’s creative excellence in mixed reality to help MTV send Kane Brown’s historic performance into the stratosphere.”

· “Toyota joins forces with the MTV VMAs for the fourth year in a row to bring a show-stopping remote performance to the Toyota Stage,” said Jessamine Merrill, general manager, media and digital engagement, Toyota Motor North America. “This exclusive collaboration showcases the all-new Corolla Cross and a first-ever mixed reality technology, in partnership with The Famous Group, creating an added performance element to Kane Brown’s exciting VMAs debut.”

· “This creative partnership with Velocity marks a unique opportunity for our team,” says Erik Beaumont, Head of Mixed Reality, The Famous Group. “We have a track record of creating dynamic experiences for teams and organizations primarily in the sports world. Now, we look forward to expanding into a new and exciting vertical – music. We are ecstatic to collaborate with MTV and Toyota to create a captivating activation at a world-renowned event.”

global superstar nicki minaj to receive video vanguard award and perform live at 2022 “vmas”

Global superstar Nicki Minaj will receive MTV’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and perform for the first time since 2018 at the 2022 “VMAs,” airing LIVE from Prudential Center on Sunday, August 28 at 8PM ET/PT.
The 17x nominated and 5x “VMAs” winner, who took home her first Moon Person for Best Hip Hop Video in 2011, is nominated this year for “Best Hip Hop.”
“Nicki has broken barriers for women in hip-hop with her versatility and creative artistry,” said Bruce Gillmer, President of Music, Music Talent, Programming & Events, Paramount and Chief Content Officer, Music, Paramount+. “She has shifted the music industry and cemented her status as a global superstar with her crossover appeal, genre-defying style and continuing to be unapologetically ‘Nicki’.”
Minaj’s next single, “Super Freaky Girl” will be released on August 12.
Previous Vanguard Award recipients include Madonna, Janet Jackson, LL Cool J, Jennifer Lopez and Missy Elliott. David Bowie, The Beatles and director Richard Lester shared the honor at the first-ever VMAs (1984).
Nicki Minaj’s many memorable moments from previous “VMAs” include:
Minaj made her “VMAs” main stage debut in 2012, rapping a surprise verse on Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire” and returned with a trifecta of performances in 2014, first taking fans to the Amazonian jungle with “Anaconda,” then teaming up with Ariana Grande and Jessie J for a show-stopping performance of “Bang Bang,” and finally, “She Came To Give It To U” with Usher.
In 2015, Nicki again performed a trio of songs, first “Trini Dem Girls,” before bringing Taylor Swift on stage for “The Night Is Still Young” and “Bad Blood.” She reunited with Ariana Grande in 2016 for “Side To Side,” and in 2017, joined host Katy Perry for a performance of “Swish Swish.”
Nicki’s most recent “VMAs” appearance included an unforgettable rap medley from her album Queen, featuring songs “Majesty,” “Ganga Burn,” “FEFE” and “Barbie Dreams” at the 2018 show.
Beyond her can’t-miss performances, Nicki always dazzles the “VMAs” red carpet with trendsetting fashion and hairstyles, creating immediate viral frenzies across social media and media worldwide.
Nicki Minaj’s impressive list of “VMAs” stats include:
Following her first win in 2011, she continued domination in the “Best Hip Hop” category, picking up wins for “Anaconda” (2015) and “Chun-Li” (2018).
Minaj also took home “Best Female Video” in 2012 for “Starships.”
Most recently, she picked up a Moon Person in 2019 for “Best Power Anthem” (“Hot Girl Summer”).

mtv to celebrate “jerzdays” all summer long

mtv to celebrate “jerzdays” all summer long with back-to-back premiere event for jersey shore family vacation and new series buckhead shore on thursday, june 23 at 8pm et/pt

Buckhead Shore is the latest series to join the iconic “Shore” franchise and follows a group of friends in Atlanta’s “Beverly Hills of the South”

NEW YORK, NY – (May 26, 2022) – MTV today announced that “Jerzdays” will return for the summer with Jersey Shore Family Vacation and the highly anticipated new series Buckhead Shore premiering back-to-back on Thursday, June 23rd. The original “Shore” icons – Jersey Shore Family Vacation – will kick off the epic premiere event at 8PM ET/PT followed by the rowdy gang of Buckhead Shore at 9PM ET/PT on MTV.

Jersey Shore Family Vacation – Jersey Shore Family Vacation, which was #1 in its time period, returns for the second half of its monumental season five. The world is finally open again and the squad is free to roam — from El Paso for an old-fashioned roommates-only trip to watch DJ Pauly D spin, to San Diego for a full-on family vacation. But buckle up, because where this group goes, drama follows. Angelina’s marriage inches past the point of no return, and it’s time to settle some old scores that will have the whole family at odds.

Buckhead Shore – The Shore franchise heads to Buckhead, Georgia to follow a group of longtime friends and former flames making a name for themselves in Atlanta’s “Beverly Hills of the South.” JuJu Barney, Katie Canham, Savannah Gabriel, Adamo Giraldo, Parker Lipman, Bethania Locke, Pat Muresan, Chelsea Prescott and DJ Simmons head to the lake for their annual summer getaway. It’s time for wild fun, high drama hook-ups, and maybe even a few broken hearts.

Buckhead Shore is the latest series to join the massive “Shore” franchise slate, which includes Jersey Shore Family Vacation, All Star Shore, Floribama Shore, Geordie Shore (UK), Rio Shore (Brazil), Gandia Shore (Spain), Warsaw Shore (Poland), Acapulco Shore (Mexico) and Super Shore – along with seven new iterations in territories around the globe, including Argentina Shore, Colombia Shore and Australia Shore, with cities to be announced.

Follow along with @JerseyShore on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube, and @BuckheadShore on Instagram and TikTok. Join in on the conversation with #JSFamilyVacation and #BuckheadShore.

Jersey Shore Family Vacation and Buckhead Shore are produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 495 Productions.

Meet the cast of “Buckhead Shore”:
JUJU BARNEY – Instagram: @jujusworld1
“King of clubs” Juju hails from Atlanta royalty as the son of the owner of world-famous strip club Magic City. Charming and suave, Juju is known in the group for his outlandish quips and easy-going personality. But when Juju gets some shocking news about the family business, will he be able to transition from party mode back to boss mode?

KATIE CANHAM – Instagram: @ktcanham / Twitter: @Ktcanham
Katie may look like she has the perfect life from the outside, but the friend group’s “queen bae” has had her share of challenges: she’s lost her mother, is struggling to figure out her career path, and is spending her first single summer under the same roof as her ex-boyfriend, Parker. Coming to the lake house she is looking for a fresh start…even if that means living with Parker’s new flame.

SAVANNAH GABRIEL – Instagram: @saavannnah
Despite only having lived in Buckhead for a few years now, Savannah is nevertheless “making waves” in the friend group for her sweet yet spicy personality. Currently the woman rocking Parker’s chicken chain, she must not only manage their relatively new relationship but also how to handle being around Parker’s ex, Katie.

ADAMO GIRALDO – Instagram: @Adamogiraldo / Twitter: @adamogiraldo
“Fun and feisty” Adamo is the life of the party who never fails to have a good time. But despite wanting some escapist fun at the lake house, Adamo must navigate not only a new relationship but also the desire to reveal his true self to his mother.

PARKER LIPMAN – Instagram: @ParkerLipman
Parker considers himself the “head buck” of the group. A self-proclaimed mama’s boy whose family owns the Zaxby’s chicken fast-food chain, he hosts a yearly summer getaway for his friends at his family’s lake house in upstate Georgia. Parker can’t seem to stay out of trouble this summer, especially as he tries to navigate having both his girlfriend and ex living under one roof.

BETHANIA LOCKE – Instagram: @BethaniaLocke
The “heart of the lake” amongst the friend circle, Bethania is often viewed as the voice of reason and mediator when the waters start getting choppy. Raised in a strict Ethiopian/Jamaican household, she only recently lost her virginity and is eager to fully venture into the world of dating. But emotions run high when her longtime friend — and recent hook-up – joins the group at the lake house.

PAT MURESAN – Instagram: @patmuresan / Twitter: @patmuresan
Pat is one of Parker’s closest and most trusted allies. Whenever Parker finds himself in a predicament (which is quite often) he can always count on Pat to have his back and be one of his ‘bodyguards’ to protect him from trouble – just as long as Pat isn’t the one causing it!

CHELSEA PRESCOTT – Instagram: @Chelseaaprescott
When the friend group thinks of Chelsea two words immediately come to mind — “charm and chaos.” Hoping to live her best life at the lake house where she can fully embrace her bubbly and magnetic personality, she finds herself in numerous precarious situations and quickly realizes this getaway might be no vacation.

DJ SIMMONS – Instagram: @djsimmons__ / Twitter: @daryljordan23
DJ is considered by many to be “music royalty,” growing up as the son of Grammy-award winning music producer/song-writer Daryl Simmons. With big shoes to fill, he hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps but is distracted by the temptations of parties, friends, and lake life.

MTV Entertainment Group
