Blaine, who recently crossed one million subscribers on YouTube, soared high over the skies of Arizona using only balloons for his journey in his biggest live performance yet, hosted by YouTube Creator and tech expert Marques Brownlee and featuring appearances from Casey Neistat, Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Olivia Wilde, Jason Sudeikis, professional surfer Jamie O’Brien and more, with a special appearance from David Blaine’s daughter, Dessa.

Four-part series ‘TOGETHER WE RISE: The Uncompromised story of GRM Daily’ will start on YouTube 28th September (with episodes 2-4 launching 1st, 5th and 8th October respectively), three-part series How to Be: Behzinga will start on YouTube 5th October (with episodes two and three launching 8th and 12th October respectively) and feature length film How to Be: Anne-Marie is set to launch later this autumn. ‘TOGETHER WE RISE: The Uncompromised story of GRM Daily’ is a four-part documentary telling the story of a generation through the game-changing YouTube channel, GRM Daily and its founder Posty, the young, Black, British entrepreneur who helped contribute towards giving a new generation of talent opportunities via a global platform which in turn became a benchmark for their success. Posty’s story is not only a story of excellence within Black British business and culture but synonymous with Grime and Rap: seemingly from nowhere with the help of his peers, him and his team steps up and, in the face of adversity he upholds his own conviction against the odds, succeeds and continues to do so decades later.

Posty, GRM Daily founder, said: “The doc showcases the passion and hard work that has been collectively put into UK rap music to help build it to being at the forefront of British music, it’s a story filled with inspiration and hope for the next generation.”

The documentary series features an incredible cast including Skepta, Giggs, Stormzy, Julie Adenuga, Kano, Ghetts, Aitch, Ms Banks, JME, D Double E, Zane Lowe and Dizzee Rascal.

The three episodes of ‘How to Be: Behzinga’ will take a look at the man behind Behzinga ‒ Ethan Payne, best known as one of the Sidemen ‒ and his journey from overweight gamer to endurance athlete with an ultimate goal of running the London marathon. Leading up to the event, we see Ethan’s vigorous routine as he trains his stamina, strength and mental endurance alongside world famous athletes. We’ll also see him open up or the very first time about his incredible weight loss journey and his struggles with mental health. With the London Marathon gone virtual and the big day quickly approaching, can Ethan leave his demons behind to overcome his biggest challenge yet?

If you told me I’d be doing the stuff I’ve done in this doc, I would have said you’re crazy. This has been one of the most eye-opening and gruelling experiences of my life. Pushing myself to the limits doing some epic and brutal challenges has opened me up like never before and taken me places I didn’t think possible… . physically and mentally. I’ve experienced a lot of shit in my life, been disruptive, wild and had some dark moments, but I’m living life to the max now, I’m in a happier place and doing this docu-series has been a big part of that.”

‘How to Be: Anne-Marie’, told by Anne-Marie, her family, friends and collaborators, will take a look at how she’s emerging from this strange period during the coronavirus pandemic where the world paused in many ways and moved on in others. She’s looking at “how to be” in the moment, after having time to pause, reflect and figure out what she needs right now. Throughout the film, viewers will hear from Anne-Marie’s inner circle about why she holds her family and friends so close, as well as watching exclusive interviews with Anne-Marie’s collaborators about her growth as an artist and her new material.

FEATURE LENGTH DOCUMENTARY CAPTURING LIFE ON A SINGLE DAY IS SET TO PREMIERE IN 2021

LOS ANGELES, CA, August 6, 2020 — YouTube’s forthcoming “Life In A Day 2020,” has received more than 300,000 global submissions from 191 different countries around the world. On July 25, 2020, people all over the world, in countries including Brazil, Canada, India, Japan, Russia, Turkey, and many more, filmed their day and then uploaded their footage to be considered for inclusion in the final feature-length documentary. Directed by Academy Award-winning director Kevin MacDonald (Whitney, One Day in September, The Last King of Scotland), and executive produced by Ridley Scott (The Martian, Gladiator) and Kai Hsiung (Lords of Chaos), the final film will be composed entirely of selected contributions from participants, and aims to showcase just how extraordinary life can be on an ordinary day.

Ten years after the original “Life In A Day,” YouTube and the filmmakers asked people all over the world to record their lives to tell the story of a single day on Earth. With the submission window now officially closed, the filmmakers have received more than 300,000 submissions, nearly four times the number of submissions to the previous film, which includes thousands of hours of footage from 191 different countries, in more than 65 languages. These submissions are already being reviewed by a multilingual team stationed around the world.

Submissions for “Life In A Day 2020” also came in at a rapid rate. At peak times in the first and last day of the open submission period, people all over the world were uploading at a rate of one entry per second. Countries with the most submissions include the US, India, Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey, the UK, Mexico, Russia, Canada, and Japan, with 78% of all entries coming from outside of the United States. Top languages listed as primary in submissions include English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Indonesian. Also of note, thousands of submissions were received in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, and Vietnamese.

Among the massive amount of submissions received for consideration, notable individuals featured in the uploaded footage include COVID-19 vaccine researchers in Oxford, a journalist covering the Portland protests, Rohingya and Syrian refugees, Black Lives Matter protesters, Tibetan Buddhists in a monastery, and a woman in Texas speaking to prisoners. Additionally, previous participants from the 2010 film also submitted footage to be considered for inclusion in this year’s film.

In the coming months, director Kevin Macdonald and the film’s three principal editors – Nse Asuquo (The Stuart Hall Project, The Jazz Ambassadors), Mdhamiri Á Nkemi (Blue Story, The Last Tree), and Sam Rice-Edwards (Whitney) – will undertake the enormous post-production effort, along with their team of submission reviewers, to weave together a 90-minute story of an ordinary day during an extraordinary time.

“Life In A Day 2020” is directed by Kevin Macdonald with Ridley Scott and Kai Hsiung serving as executive producers, and Jack Arbuthnott and Tim Partridge as producers. The documentary is produced by RSA Films in association with Flying Object.

“Life In A Day 2020” will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and on YouTube in 2021.

Footage sourced from the global contributors will be woven together in this documentary to tell the story of an ordinary day at an extraordinary time. “Life In A Day 2020” will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and on YouTube in 2021.

Ten years after YouTube’s groundbreaking and critically-acclaimed “Life In A Day,” and at an unprecedented moment in time, the renewed participation-based project asks the world to share what one day looks like through their personal camera lenses. On July 25, 2020, everyone is invited to capture and reflect the reality of our world over a 24-hour period. All footage must be filmed on July 25th only; participants will then have until August 2nd to upload their content to be considered for the final film. Once submissions close, a 30-person team of multilingual reviewers stationed around the world will begin reviewing and translating submitted videos. The film’s three principal editors – Mdhamiri Á Nkemi (Blue Story, The Last Tree), Sam Rice-Edwards (Whitney), and Nse Asuquo (The Stuart Hall Project, The Jazz Ambassadors) – will then undertake an enormous post-production effort, working alongside director Kevin Macdonald to shape the film’s final narrative out of submitted footage.

The original “Life In A Day” film was filmed in July 2010 to mark YouTube’s 5th birthday and brought the YouTube community together for what was one of the biggest participatory feature film projects ever made. The documentary attracted 80,000 submissions, received critical acclaim, premiered at Sundance in 2011 followed by a theatrical worldwide release, and has been watched on YouTube over 16 million times.
