(SILVER SPRING, MD) January 7, 2021 – TV One dives into a third season of the nail biting true crime series ATL HOMICIDE, premiering on Monday, January 25 at 9 p.m. ET/8C. Viewers will reunite with the passionate and fearless veteran homicide detectives David Quinn and Vince Velazquez of the Atlanta Police Department as they disclose first-hand accounts of real-life murder investigations. Each episode follows the thirty-year Atlanta PD veterans as they reveal how they solved tragic crimes committed in the Atlanta metro area while working side by side as partners in the homicide division.

“With a bigger focus lately on police reform, we hope ATL Homicide can continue to show a different side of law enforcement that many of our citizens don’t normally see.” said Vince Velazquez.

The hour-long show will dive deep into Quinn and Velazquez’s personal experiences as detectives as they narrate step-by-step some of their most bone-chilling cases. The dramatic stories, based on true events have been re-created through flashbacks and showcase actors Angelo Diaz as David Quinn and Christopher Diaz as Vince Velazquez.

The retelling of these investigations take the viewer on an adventure of mystery and intrigue. In its third season ATL HOMICIDE brings all new stories of real and raw experiences as the detectives seek to deliver justice on behalf of the victims.

In the season premiere episode, Quinn and Vince investigate the tragic murder of a young father gunned down at a gas station. The detectives narrow in on a local drug dealer as the suspect, but as they near the finish line, they find that their closest ally may hold the darkest secrets in this complicated investigation. Moments of Black auditory dissent featured in the special spans centuries and includes themes of Negro spirituals, like “Swing Low Sweet Chariot,” which provided both a distraction from the harsh conditions of slavery and communication tools for the enslaved as they plotted their escape to freedom; to soul and funk anthems during the Black Power movement performed by Aretha Franklin (“Respect”) and Curtis Mayfield (“People Get Ready”) demanding an immediate change to the political landscape and that civil rights be upheld; to the heart-wrenching viral music videos by young, contemporary artists – like Keedron Bryant’s captivating single “I Just Want to Live” – creating rallying mixtapes for the current Black Lives Matter movement which, this past summer, saw a melting pot of cultures across the globe who marched in solidarity, to protest police brutality. Episode Description: Larenz Tate is probably best known for his role as the smooth talking, poet-reciting Darius Lovehall from the cult classic film, Love Jones but, Larenz rose to fame after playing the role of O-Dog in the 1993 teen drama film Menace II Society. He has gone on to star in both iconic television series and movies that continue to move the culture.

TYRESE

Airs: Sunday, September 13 at 10 P.M./9C

Episode Description: Tyrese Gibson was born December 30, 1978 in Watts, Los Angeles, California, where he was raised. He is an R&B singer, songwriter, actor, author, television producer and model. He is well known for his actor role as Roman Pearce in the The Fast and Furious movie franchise. Other popular movies Tyrese has acted in are Death Race, Transformers, Baby Boy and Legion.

EVE

Airs: Sunday, September 20 at 10 P.M./9C

Episode Description: Eve is a rapper and actress, best known for hits like ‘What Ya Want,’ and her Grammy-winning “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” collab with Gwen Stefani. She’s also starred in the Barbershop film franchise. A self-proclaimed “pitbull in a skirt” – an epithet better suited to her tomboyish early years than now – Eve was barely out of her teens when she had her first No. 1 album in 1999. By 2002, she had two more hit albums and won a Grammy – her sound and colorful personal style bridging the gap between the feminist Queen Latifah and the more overtly sexual Lil’ Kim. Since 2017, Eve has been one of the hosts of the CBS Daytime talk show, The Talk and in 2014 she married Maximillion Cooper, the British multimillionaire founder of the celebrity motor rally Gumball 3000, and now lives with him in London.

YANDY SMITH-HARRIS

Episode Description: Yandy Smith is a Harlem born, entertainment manager and entrepreneur. In 2004, she graduated from Howard University and interned at Violator under the mentorship of Mona Scott-Young. In 2005, Yandy met Jim Jones on a private jet charted by Russell Simmons and left Violator to manage him full-time. In 2006, Yandy approached Mona to retool a TV pilot show and the concept was tweaked to include Jim’s girlfriend Chrissy and her circle of friends, becoming what would be later known as Love & Hip Hop. Through her time a cast member and manager, the hustle has always remained. She is now a wife to long time love Mendeecees Harris, mother and the longest running cast member on Love & Hip Hop.

JENIFER LEWIS

Episode Description: Actress, singer, diva, activist, and the “Mother of Black Hollywood,” Jenifer Lewis is a force to be reckoned with. She began her career appearing in Broadway musicals and worked as a back-up singer for Bette Midler and has shown no signs of slowing down. Known as the Mother of Black Hollywood who has played everyone’s mom, from Tupac’s character in Poetic Justice, Whitney Houston’s mother in The Preacher’s Wife, Tina Turner’s mom, Zelma Bullock, in What’s Love Got to Do With It to Ruby on Black-ish.

DEBBIE ALLEN

Airs: Sunday, October 11 at 10 P.M./9C

Episode Description: Debbie Allen is a multi-hyphenate- actress, dancer, choreographer, singer-songwriter, producer, and director. She has been nominated 20 times for Emmy awards; winning three, two Tony awards, a Golden Globe and ultimately receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Directing some of our favorite shows such as Everybody Hates Chris, Empire, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder, she is currently the Executive Producer of Grey’s Anatomy.

OMARI HARDWICK

Network Posts Double-Digit Year-Over-Year Quarterly Ratings Among All Key Demos in Prime and Total Day

(SILVER SPRING, MD) – August 10, 2020 – TV One announced today it posted double-digit second quarter gains among all key demos in Prime and Total Day. TV One P/25-54 and P/18-49 Prime ratings increased +18% and +27%, respectively. TV One posted similar ratings gains in Total Day with an increase of +21% for P/25-54 and +25% for P/18-49.*

Additionally, in second quarter 2020, TV One ranked as the #5 network among African American P/25-54 against all ad-supported cable networks and is currently the #5 network, season-to-date, among African American W/25-54.

TV One’s second quarter success is attributed to a programming slate that offered a broad range of content including original series and movies, classic sitcoms, and music specials designed to entertain and inform a diverse audience of adult black viewers.
