MARK STRONG’S COMPLICATED UNDERGROUND LIFE CONTINUES TO SPIRAL AS “TEMPLE” RETURNS FOR SEASON 2 MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1 ON SPECTRUM ORIGINALS

Los Angeles, Calif. (October 12, 2021) – TEMPLE named one of the “Best Shows of 2020” by the New York Times, makes its thrilling return to Spectrum On Demand when all seven episodes of the crime series drops ad-free on Monday, November 1.

Season One Temple was ranked #1 in unique VOD HHs and #1 in overall VOD usage (HBO’s The Undoing was #2) for its first 15 weeks on Spectrum (through February 27, 2021).

“We are delighted to be back on Spectrum with Season 2 of TEMPLE,” said Strong. “This time we take viewers on a white-knuckle ride above ground where events spin dangerously out of control and Daniel is forced into an unholy alliance with an unusual medical fixer played by the inimitable Rhys Ifans.”

Strong plays the brilliant but haunted surgeon, Daniel Milton, who sacrificed everything for love in Season 1 when he opened an illegal medical clinic in the network of tunnels beneath London’s Temple subway station with hopes of healing his wife Beth (Catherine McCormack) with experimental treatments. But when word of the clinic started to spread among outcasts and the criminal underworld, Daniel became entrenched in dangerous battles between life and death, which continues throughout Season 2 as he tumbles deeper and deeper into the hole he’s dug for himself. As he’s faced with larger than life decisions, the choices he makes will define him forever – for better or for worse.

Additional talent returning to Season 2 includes: Carice van Houten (Game of Thrones), Daniel Mays (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Lily Newmark (Sex Education), Ryan McKen (Zomboat) and Tobi King Bakare (I May Destroy You). BRITBOX UK AND SPECTRUM ORIGINALS JOIN FORCES FOR WORLDWIDE DEBUT OF “A SPY AMONG FRIENDS”

CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED ACTORS, DAMIAN LEWIS AND GUY PEARCE TO STAR IN SONY PICTURES TELEVISION-PRODUCED LIMITED SERIES DRAMA

London/Los Angeles, Cali, October 6, 2021: BritBox UK, the streaming service created by ITV and the BBC, and Spectrum Originals, the premier U.S. destination for Spectrum video subscribers, will globally debut A SPY AMONG FRIENDS, a limited series based on the New York Times best-selling book written by Ben Macintyre. In collaboration with Sony Pictures Television, ITV Studios and Veritas Entertainment Group, the limited series produced in the UK stars Golden Globe(R) and Emmy(R) Award-winning actor, Damian Lewis (Homeland, Billions) and Emmy(R) Award-winner, Guy Pearce (Jack Irish, Mare of Easttown). Lewis will also serve as executive producer through his production company, Ginger Biscuit Entertainment. The series has begun production in London this week and also will shoot in Romania.

From Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) Award-winning British writer Alexander Cary, producing alongside ITV Studios’ BAFTA award-winner Patrick Spence (Adult Material, Fortitude), the six-episode limited series will have a worldwide premiere airing exclusively on BritBox in the UK and Spectrum’s On Demand platform in the U.S. in the fall of 2022.* “How could I resist the opportunity to dramatize the true story of Nicholas Elliott (Damian Lewis) and Kim Philby (Guy Pearce) – two spies and lifelong friends, one of whom was betraying the other all along?” said Cary. “A friendship that resulted in the gutting of British and American intelligence at the height of the Cold War and shaped the field of play for the dangerous game against Russia that we’re still trying to win today. Macintyre’s books about spies from recent history are relevant and exciting because they examine the larger universal themes of human behavior that drive individuals among us, and like us, to excel in the murky world of espionage and, for better or worse, leave a lasting impact on the world.”

Additional cast includes: Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland, Line of Duty) and Stephen Kunken (Billions, The Handmaid’s Tale) and Adrian Edmondson (Back to Life, The Pact).

Alexander Cary serves as creator and executive producer along with Patrick Spence, Nick Murphy and Damian Lewis’ Ginger Biscuit Entertainment. The limited series is directed by BAFTA award-winner Nick Murphy (Save Me, A Christmas Carol) and produced by BAFTA award-winner Chrissy Skinns (Elizabeth is Missing, The Last Kingdom). Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, Peter Jaysen are executive producers for Veritas Entertainment Group.

Will Harrison, BritBox UK Managing Director said: “We’ve sought out the highest calibre writing, acting, directorial and production talent to create exceptional original British programming for BritBox. A SPY AMONG FRIENDS is the epitome of this and will provide a new and thrilling, must-watch show for subscribers.”

“I’m incredibly excited about collaborating with BritBox UK and ITV Studios along with our partners at Sony on this project,” said Katherine Pope, Head of Spectrum Originals. “This emotional thriller examines espionage through a deeply personal lens, and we are lucky enough to be in the hands of the brilliant Alex Cary, Nick Murphy, Damian Lewis and Guy Pearce whose dedication will yield a distinctly special series.”

“Alex and I have worked together over the years so I was thrilled when we finally got him to join the Sony family,” said Lauren Stein, EVP Drama Development, Sony Pictures Television. ‘A SPY AMONG FRIENDS’ was the first project he brought us and with the combination of Alex’s creative vision and the talent of Damian and Guy, we immediately knew this was a dream project. I couldn’t be more excited to be working on something so special.”

“I’m excited to be producing and starring in ‘A SPY AMONG FRIENDS.’ These fabulous scripts by Alex Cary take an up-close look at friendship – a friendship that was blinded by love, class, and membership to the right clubs, and ended in betrayal and the deaths of thousands,” said Lewis. “It’s been a fantastic creative process developing ‘Spy’ and now I can’t wait to start filming with Guy and all the other brilliant actors who’ve happily agreed to join us.”

“It’s an honour to be a part of this thrilling project,” said Pearce. “I’ve always been fascinated by the intriguing MI6 history and getting to go on this journey with Damian makes it all the more brilliant. I’m also very happy to be working again with the wonderful and talented Nick Murphy.”

“From the moment I finished reading Ben Macintyre’s manuscript of A SPY AMONG FRIENDS, I knew there was a stellar television event to be produced from it,” said Bob Bookman. “My partners and I at Veritas feel honored to be collaborating with Alex Cary, Nick Murphy, and our dream cast to make this passion project become a reality.”

“Alex, Damian, Guy, Nick and Chrissy – every producer dreams of bringing together a team as good as this. Bring it on,” added Patrick Spence, ITV Studios.

Kevin Lygo, BritBox Originals Creative Chief and ITV’s Director of TV concluded, “A SPY AMONG FRIENDS is a brand-defining original commission starring world class British talent. We are really looking forward to sharing it with our subscribers.”

SPECTRUM ORIGINALS GREENLIGHTS PARAMOUNT TELEVISION STUDIOS PRODUCED DRAMA “JOE PICKETT” STARRING MICHAEL DORMAN

Series led by famed filmmakers John Erick Dowdle, Drew Dowdle and Red Wagon Entertainment

Los Angeles, Calif. (March 18, 2021) – Spectrum Originals has announced the ten-episode pickup of one-hour drama JOE PICKETT headlined by Michael Dorman (Patriot, For All Mankind). From creators, writers, directors, showrunners and executive producers John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle, and produced by Paramount Television Studios and Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher’s Red Wagon Entertainment, the series follows a game warden (Dorman) and his family as they navigate the changing political and socio-economic climate in a small rural town in Wyoming. Surrounded by rich history and vast wildlife, the township hides decades of schemes and secrets that are yet to be uncovered. The series will air for a nine-month exclusive run on Spectrum.

“C.J. Box’s brilliant and beloved JOE PICKETT novels draw you in with the quiet beauty of the Wyoming setting, but it’s the characters that keep you riveted in their complexity, passion and unique points of view – for better or worse,” said Katherine Pope, Head of Spectrum Originals. “Michael has the intensity, humanity and humor that Joe Pickett demands, and we couldn’t have better partners in the incredible John Erick and Drew Dowdle, Paramount Television Studios and Red Wagon Entertainment to bring this world to life”.

Says Paramount Television Studios President Nicole Clemens, “C.J. Box’s JOE PICKETT novels truly have something for everyone – spellbinding storytelling, multifaceted characters, and of course the breathtaking setting of the Wyoming wilderness – and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with Spectrum Originals, Red Wagon and John Erick and Drew Dowdle in bringing these characters to life. The Dowdles have a sharp instinct for the specificity of this rich world. Joe Pickett is a ‘still waters run deep’ character and so we feel unbelievably fortunate to have Michael Dorman, who brings amazing depth to this character.”

“We fell in love with C.J Box’s JOE PICKETT novels because of their nuanced take on morality in a morally ambiguous world,” said creators, writers, directors, showrunners and executive producers John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle. “We became fascinated with Joe’s obsession with the ideas of truth, fairness, and the order of things, and perhaps even more fascinated with the trauma that made him that way. These days, there is so much to relate to in the Pickett family’s desire for a simpler life, and also in the notion that unresolved elements of our past tend to follow us wherever we go. Spending the last few years with the Pickett family has been one of the great joys of our careers, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring them to life on screen.”

The series comes from creators, writers, directors, showrunners and executive producers, John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle (Waco). Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher serve as executive producers for Red Wagon Entertainment. The series is based on The New York Times #1 bestselling book series by C.J. Box, who also serves as executive producer. Box’s novels have sold millions of copies in the U.S. alone and have been translated into 27 languages.
