AMC’S ANNUAL HORROR MARATHON FEARFEST BECOMES ‘FURFEST’ WITH ADOPT-A-PET.COM COLLABORATION

AMC’S ANNUAL HORROR MARATHON FEARFEST BECOMES ‘FURFEST’ WITH ADOPT-A-PET.COM COLLABORATION
All month long, AMC, AMC+, and Shudder are encouraging viewers to find their PAW-fect watch buddy for spooky season and beyond, and to raise awareness for black cat and black dog adoption
NEW YORK, NY – October 20, 2020 – AMC Networks today announced it has teamed up with Adopt-a-Pet.com, North America’s largest non-profit pet adoption website, for AMC’s annual horror marathon FearFest, to raise awareness for pet adoption with ‘FurFest.’ All month long, AMC, AMC+, and Shudder are encouraging viewers to support Adopt-a-Pet.com’s mission to end the overpopulation of companion animals in shelters and help pets find loving forever homes through custom, PET-tacular spots airing across linear, digital, and social channels.

The custom spots, featuring a few four-legged horror fans, encourage viewers to find their perfect watch buddies through adoptions and especially raise awareness for black cat and black dog adoptions this spooky season. Halloween may be the season for magical black cats, but in reality, they are most often left behind in shelters because of the color of their fur. Many animal welfare organizations call this “black cat syndrome,” with the phenomenon happening with black dogs as well. Through the collaboration, audiences are encouraged and inspired to help fight “black cat syndrome” by adopting these furry friends or by donating to Adopt-a-Pet.com. See the custom spot below:

“We all know that spooky season is best enjoyed with a buddy by your side, which is why we’re thrilled to join forces with Adopt-a-Pet.com to help viewers find their perfect four-legged watch companions,” said Linda Schupack, President of Marketing, AMC Networks Entertainment Group. “The movies on AMC’s FearFest and Shudder are already scary enough. How great to cuddle up with a lovely black cat or black dog for Halloween and beyond.”

“Teaming up with AMC Networks is an exciting and unique way to spread the word about pet adoption,” said Dana Puglisi, Chief Marketing Officer of Adopt-a-Pet.com. “We appreciate AMC and Shudder’s efforts to help get more pets into loving homes. And we love all the extra snuggles those newly adopted pets will receive while their people binge through the FearFest thrills!”

Now in its 24th consecutive year, AMC’s annual horror marathon FearFest brings the frights with an entire month of genre programming from iconic franchises like Halloween and Insidious, and the return of award-winning docuseries Eli Roth’s History of Horror. Shudder, dubbed “the ultimate in streaming horror” by Newsweek, offers the best selection of original and classic horror, thriller and supernatural films and series, uncut and commercial free. Both are also now available as part of the new AMC+, a premium streaming bundle featuring only the good stuff, which also includes IFC Midnight’s best genre cinema from independent, foreign and documentary films. In addition to the largest slate of classic horror movies such as Friday the 13th and Halloween, AMC+ also includes all series within The Walking Dead Universe, as well as AMC’s Eli Roth’s History of Horror, and new Shudder programming, such as Joe Bob’s Halloween Hideaway Special and A Creepshow Animated Special, and much more.

SHUDDER ACQUIRES BLOODTHIRSTY HORROR COMEDY “BOYS FROM COUNTY HELL”

SHUDDER ACQUIRES BLOODTHIRSTY HORROR COMEDY “BOYS FROM COUNTY HELL”

October 14, 2020 — New York, NY — Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, today announced that it has acquired all rights in North America to Chris Baugh’s (BAD DAY FOR THE CUT) wild and wicked horror comedy BOYS FROM COUNTY HELL, starring Jack Rowan (PEAKY BLINDERS), Nigel O’Neill (THE BOOKSHOP) Louisa Harland (DERRY GIRLS), Fra Free (ANIMALS) and John Lynch (THE TERROR). The film, which was selected for this year’s cancelled Tribeca Film Festival, had its world premiere last week at Sitges International Film Festival and will premiere on Shudder in the US and Canada next year.

Welcome to Six Mile Hill, a sleepy town whose only claim to fame is that locals say Bram Stoker once spent a night in the local pub. It’s home to Eugene Moffat, who spends his days drinking pints with his friends and pranking tourists at the grave site of Abhartach — a legendary Irish vampire who may have inspired Stoker’s infamous Dracula. Sinister events unfold when Eugene and his father’s construction crew knock over Abhartach’s supposed resting place. When an infected workmate attacks them one
night, the fight for survival begins. But stakes and garlic won’t defeat this primeval force. Eugene and the Boys must rally their wits to save the town and send this bloodthirsty monster back to hell.

“I’m delighted that BOYS FROM COUNTY HELL has found a North American home on Shudder. The film was made with a lot of passion and grit by many talented people, and so it’s a huge honour to have it presented by such a fearless curator of boundary-pushing genre programming,” said director Chris Baugh.

“BOYS FROM COUNTY HELL is a pure delight from beginning to end that manages to be both funny and scary, with characters you’d be happy to grab a pint with at the pub even if they weren’t fighting vampires. We know Shudder members are going to love it as much as we do, and we can’t wait to share it with them,” said Shudder General Manager Craig Engler.

“We are thrilled to be teaming with Shudder for the North American release of BOYS FROM COUNTY HELL. We look forward to audiences enjoying the film on what is, for us, the premiere streaming service dedicated to entertaining genre fans the world over,” said producer Brendan Mullin.

BOYS FROM COUNTY HELL is produced by Brendan Mullin of Six Mile Hill Productions and Yvonne Donohoe for Blinder Films, and executive produced by Katie Holly for Blinder Films, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Rian Cahill for Automatik, and Lesley McKimm for Screen Ireland. The film is a co-production between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland and was supported by Endeavor Content, Screen Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen, and Egg Post Production.

The deal was negotiated by Endeavor Content on behalf of the filmmakers and Emily Gotto on behalf of Shudder. Baugh and Mullin are repped by Independent Talent Group, Grandview, and CAA.

SHUDDER DROPS NEW TRAILER FOR THE BOULET BROTHERS’ DRAGULA: RESURRECTION

SHUDDER DROPS NEW TRAILER FOR THE BOULET BROTHERS’ DRAGULA: RESURRECTION

PREMIERING OCTOBER 20

Today, Shudder released the trailer for The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection, premiering exclusively on the horror streaming service in all its territories, as well as via the Shudder offering within the AMC+ bundle, beginning Tuesday, October 20.

Dubbed one of the “15 best LGBTQ shows everyone needs to watch” by Cosmopolitan and “required horror viewing” by Fangoria, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula has taken both queer and horror audiences by storm. The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection presents drag in a unique feature-length format, blending both cinematic and documentary style content with reality competition.

Hosted and judged by series creators The Boulet Brothers, the innovative, two-hour film—part horror movie, part documentary and part reality competition—marks the first spin-off of the groundbreaking The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula series and the first time that competitors from all three seasons of the show will return to compete against one another, including Frankie Doom (season 1), Loris (season 1), Kendra Onixxx (season 2), Dahli (season 2), Victoria Elizabeth Black (season 2), Priscilla Chambers (season 3), and Saint (formerly St. Lucia, of season 3). The winner of the competition will be “resurrected” and will return to compete on the upcoming Boulet Brothers’ Dragula season 4 as a main competitor, and will also walk away with a twenty thousand dollar cash prize. Additional cast details can be found below.

The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection is written, produced, and co-directed by the Boulet Brothers with Executive Producer David Sigurani and director Nathan Noyes.

The Boulet Brothers

The Boulets Brothers are drag icons, television personalities, filmmakers, and producers. Their projects have included horror-themed TV series and films, live nightlife events, books, and comics. The duo, known individually as Dracmorda and Swanthula, are celebrated modern day horror hosts, seen as the preeminent voices in the genre. Outside of their television projects, the Boulets appear regularly as featured guests, performers and emcees at horror conventions, nightclubs and live events all over the globe. They are hosts of the haunting podcast Creatures of the Night for Dread Central, interviewing notable guests at the intersection of LGBTQIA+ media and horror. Contrary to their provocative drag alter ego, they are not brothers, but partners who have been a couple for over a decade.

The Boulet Brothers are the creators, hosts, judges and producers of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula series and it’s first film spinoff The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection.

Priscilla Chambers

Priscilla Chambers is a trans drag artist from Asheville, North Carolina. Priscilla competed on season 3 of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula and placed third, coming heel-length to winning the entire competition. While appearing on the third season, Priscilla presented and identified in her regular life as a man, but shared that after her experience on the show she had the strength to embrace her identity as a transgender woman.

Her appearance on The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection will be the first time she has presented publicly as a woman since beginning her transition. She is using her appearance on the show as a platform to champion trans rights, and at the same time hopes to win after coming so close in season 3.

Victoria Elizabeth Black

Victoria Black is a professional special effects makeup artist and haunt attraction designer who lives and works in Orlando, Florida. Victoria is regarded as one of the most talented special effects makeup artists working in drag today and was the runner up on The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula season 2.

Victoria was often criticized for being shy and quiet during her season, and her lack of enthusiasm as a potential winner and spokesperson for the show was noted as a contributing factor to her loss. After her loss, Victoria was diagnosed with having Asperger Syndrome, and has pushed to counter her autism spectrum disorder and find her voice. She is returning to The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection feeling empowered and believes she is more ready to reign after coming so close. Out of all of the drag artists competing, Victoria is regarded by the other competitors as the powerhouse to beat.

Saint

Saint is a drag queen who lives and works in the small southern town of Acworth, Georgia. Saint competed on season 3 of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula and was considered a “baby queen” on her season as she was new to drag and had the least experience. Saint was an early out on her season, and feels that being doubted by the entire cast contributed to her “psyching herself out” and performing poorly on the show. She is quoted as saying that being attacked by fellow castmate (and established drag icon) Maddelynn Hatter on the first episode destroyed her mentally, and considered the attack to be her downfall.

Since being sent home, Saint has traveled the world as a drag performer and feels she has mastered her craft to become a much more compelling drag artist. She has recently been invigorated by an emotional experience speaking at the George Floyd memorial in NYC and is returning to the competition stronger than ever. She reflects on her experiences living through this year’s civil rights uprising during The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection and shares the story of how she has grown into her identity as Saint and plans to use that confidence in the competition.

Kendra Onixxx

Kendra Onixxx is a drag queen who lives and works in Moreno Valley, California. Kendra is quoted as saying she is “unapologetically black” and expresses her heritage in her drag and performance. Kendra served as a soldier in the U.S. Army for eleven years before becoming a drag performer, and currently works as a nurse at a retirement home. Kendra’s family are devout Christians and do not know that she moonlights as a drag performer.

Kendra is a fire-breathing performer who often incorporates fire in her performances. Earlier this year, her face was badly burned in a horrific stage accident. which she reflects on during The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection. She intends on performing with fire on the show for the first time since her accident as a way to overcome her anxiety about what happened to her. An early elimination on The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula season 2, Kendra feels she has a lot more to show and is returning to the competition ready to fight fire with fire.

Dahli

Dahli is a non-binary drag artist who works and lives in Phoenix, Arizona and is a former member of the electronic music group Blood On The Dancefloor. Dahli’s drag is reflective of changing attitudes towards gender in society, presenting as neither male or female in their costumes and performances. Dahli has recently become more vocal about their biracial identity (their mother is Caucasian and their father is Black) and was inspired to do so by the recent Black Lives Matter movement.

Dahli competed on The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula season 2, and despite scoring high, they threw the competition and left the show early under mysterious circumstances. Dahli reflects on the reasons and consequences of this decision in The Boulet Brothers Dragula: Resurrection, and seeks to win this competition as a redemption for their earlier loss.

Frankie Doom

Frankie Doom is a drag queen who lives and works in West Covina, California. She competed and placed third in the first season of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula and has been working to perfect her craft since then. While often regarded as “messy” or “punk” in her performance and style, Frankie has spent the last few years since competing on the show developing her special effects makeup skills and is coming back to The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection with a vengeance.

Loris

Loris competed on the original season of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula and is quick to remind everyone of that fact. She is considered to be one of the most controversial contenders ever to compete on the show, and her sharp tongue drew the ire of the entire cast by the end of her season. She was removed from the competition not by the show’s judges but by the cast who came together to “vote” her off when they were asked “who should go home” during a judging panel. Loris feels her removal was unfair and returns to The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection considering this her chance at redemption and revenge.

MICHAEL DOUGHERTY’S GHOUL LOG TRICK ‘R TREAT SAM O’LANTERN NOW STREAMING ON SHUDDER

MICHAEL DOUGHERTY’S GHOUL LOG TRICK ‘R TREAT SAM O’LANTERN NOW STREAMING ON SHUDDER
Shudder Presents New 24/7 Streaming Jack-O’Lantern Inspired by Dougherty’s Iconic Halloween Anthology Film
Official Trailer:

NEW YORK, NY – October 2, 2020 – Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, has debuted this year’s “Ghoul Log,” a 24/7 streaming jack-o’lantern, created by Trick ‘r Treat director Michael Dougherty (Godzilla: King of the Monsters). The Ghoul Log Trick ‘r Treat Sam O’Lantern is inspired by his beloved film from Legendary Entertainment and its iconic star, Sam, the mischievous spirit of Halloween who enforces the holiday’s ancient traditions. It is available to stream on Shudder now, both on-demand and soon 24/7 via the in-app Shudder TV feed.

Log line: On a dark, autumnal street, the Sam O’Lantern blazes to life. While the pumpkin burns, keep your eyes peeled for the surprises it summons.

“Thanks to the ongoing dumpster fire that is 2020, Halloween is going to be yet another stay-at-home activity for a lot of people, so I hope the Sam O’Lantern brings a bit of light and magick to all those in need of some holiday spirit,“ said Michael Dougherty

“When we thought about what would get Shudder subscribers most excited for the 2020 version of our annual Ghoul Log, our wish-list idea was to team up with Michael Dougherty for something inspired by his iconic Halloween movie Trick ‘r Treat. When we reached out to Mike, we were delighted to find out that he was not only interested in the idea, but he already had an amazing concept in mind,” said Craig Engler, Shudder’s General Manager.

The Ghoul Log Trick ‘r Treat Sam O’Lantern is the third in Shudder’s annual Halloween series. The Ghoul Log premiered in 2018, doing for Halloween what the famed Yule Log has long done for Christmas. Its long, unbroken feed of a candle-lit jack-o’lantern accompanied by spooky night sounds was an immediate hit. 2019 saw Return of the Ghoul Log, an animated creation courtesy of famed horror director Larry Fessenden (Depraved) and animator Beck Underwood. This year’s Ghoul Log is the first to be directly inspired by an iconic horror film. Trick ‘r Treat, released in 2009, has amassed a ravenous cult following and the Sam character has become a perennial Halloween icon inspiring a still growing line of toys, comic books, costumes, holiday décor, and theme park attractions.

The Ghoul Log Trick ‘r Treat Sam O’Lantern was conceived, designed and executive produced by Dougherty and directed by Evan Gorski and Michael Babyak. It was produced by Ava Yazdani and features special effects by AtmosFX (AtmosFX.com). Trick ‘r Treat © Legendary 2007. All rights reserved.

DRAG, FILTH, HORROR & GLAMOUR COME TO SHUDDER IN NEW ORIGINAL

DRAG, FILTH, HORROR & GLAMOUR COME TO SHUDDER IN NEW ORIGINAL, THE BOULET BROTHERS’ DRAGULA: RESURRECTION, PREMIERING OCTOBER 20

Hybrid Horror/Reality Competition/Documentary Feature is the First Spin-Off of the Groundbreaking Drag Competition Series The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula

NEW YORK, NY – September 29, 2020 – Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, today announced a new Shudder Original, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection coming to the platform just in time for Halloween. The innovative, two-hour film—part horror movie, part documentary and part reality competition—marks the first spin-off of the groundbreaking The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula series and the Brothers’ first collaboration with the horror streaming service. The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection will premiere exclusively on Shudder in all territories on Tuesday, October 20.

Hosted and judged by series creators The Boulet Brothers, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection’s Halloween-themed competition marks the first time that competitors from all three seasons of the show will return to compete against one another. The winner of the competition will be “resurrected” and will return to compete on the upcoming Boulet Brothers’ Dragula Season 4 as a main competitor, and will also walk away with a twenty thousand dollar cash prize.

“We’re so excited to be bringing this special to life, and even more excited that it’s happening just in time for Halloween. The format is something incredibly different and it truly presents drag in an innovative way that has never been seen on tv before. It’s easily the best content we have ever produced, and the highest level of drag that tv audiences have ever seen. We are so proud of the cast and crew who made this happen, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Shudder to produce it,” explained the Boulet Brothers.

“Over three seasons of their pioneering show, the Boulets have been a creative force helping to make horror more outrageous, fun and delightful. We’re excited to have The Boulet Brothers’
Dragula: Resurrection, on Shudder and can’t wait to share it with our members ,” said Craig Engler, Shudder’s General Manager.

Dubbed one of the “15 best LGBTQ shows everyone needs to watch by Cosmopolitan
and “required horror viewing” by Fangoria, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula has taken both queer and horror audiences by storm. The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection presents drag in a unique feature-length format, blending both cinematic and documentary style content with reality competition.

Unlike past seasons of the series which brought competitors to Hollywood, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection will travel across the country for in-depth conversations with each artist where they live and work, observing their process as they create their unique looks. The competitors will be challenged to conceptualize and design three original Halloween-themed looks and present them in performances to be filmed at haunting and horrifying real-world locations including an abandoned Georgia train station and a haunted mansion in the woods of North Carolina. The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection will also feature music from trans pop icon Kim Petras and gay country music star Orville Peck.

The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Resurrection is written, produced and co-directed by the Boulet Brothers with Executive Producer David Sigurani and director Nathan Noyes.
