SHOWTIME(R) ANNOUNCES “RAY DONOVAN” FEATURE-LENGTH FILM

Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) Nominee Liev Schreiber To Return and Co-Write Script With Showrunner David Hollander, Who Will Direct

Golden Globe Winner Jon Voight and Kerris Dorsey Also Return

LOS ANGELES – February 24, 2021 – SHOWTIME has announced a RAY DONOVAN feature-length film continuing Ray’s journey, following the hit drama series’ seven-season run on the network. Star Liev Schreiber will return in his Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) nominated role and co-write the script along with series showrunner David Hollander, who will also serve as director. Golden Globe winner Jon Voight will also reprise his role as Mickey Donovan, as will Kerris Dorsey as Ray’s daughter Bridget. The production is tentatively scheduled to begin filming later this year in New York and will air on SHOWTIME. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine and Jana Winograde, Presidents of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc.

The new film picks up where season seven left off, with Mickey in the wind and Ray determined to find and stop him before he can cause any more carnage. It will also weave together the present-day fallout from the Donovan/Sullivan feud with Ray and Mickey’s origin story from 30 years ago.

“When RAY DONOVAN went off our air after seven great seasons, we heard from so many of its loyal fans that they were not ready to say goodbye to Ray and the wonderfully dysfunctional Donovan clan,” said Levine. “And so, for them, we are delighted that Liev and David are creating a thrilling new chapter of this iconic series.”

During its 82-episode run from 2013 to 2020, the series earned multiple Emmy, Golden Globe, Writers Guild and Critics’ Choice nominations, with Voight winning a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance By An Actor Role In A Supporting Role In A Series, Mini-Series, Or Motion Picture Made For Television.

The RAY DONOVAN film is executive produced by David Hollander, Liev Schreiber, Mark Gordon, Bryan Zuriff and Lou Fusaro.

Scripted Anthology Drama Series Produced By SHOWTIME and Lionsgate Television Stars Fellow 2021 Golden Globe Nominees Viola Davis as Michelle Obama and Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford

Davis Also Executive Produces the Series via JuVee Productions

LOS ANGELES – February 22, 2021 – SHOWTIME has announced that Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild winner Gillian Anderson (The Crown) will star as Eleanor Roosevelt in THE FIRST LADY (w/t), rounding out the trio of 2021 Golden Globe nominees starring in the scripted anthology series. Anderson joins Oscar(R), Emmy and Tony winner Viola Davis (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), who also executive produces, as former first lady Michelle Obama and Oscar and Emmy nominee and Golden Globe winner Michelle Pfeiffer (French Exit) as Betty Ford. Yet another Golden Globe nominee this year, Susanne Bier (The Undoing), will direct and executive produce. THE FIRST LADY (w/t) is a revelatory reframing of American leadership, told through the lens of the women at the heart of the White House. Produced by SHOWTIME and Lionsgate Television, the series is executive produced by Oscar winner Cathy Schulman (Crash), Viola Davis, Julius Tennon, Andrew Wang, Susanne Bier, Jeff Gaspin (Rhythm + Flow), Brad Kaplan (Mr. Church) and created by author Aaron Cooley (Four Seats: A Thriller of the Supreme Court), who will write several of the episodes and executive produce. The announcement was made by Amy Israel, Executive Vice President, Scripted Programming, Showtime Networks Inc.

“Gillian Anderson is an actress of incredible range and exquisite talent – she is the perfect choice to complete this powerhouse trio, who will inhabit the roles of these iconic women,” said Israel. “It’s inspiring to have Gillian, Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Susanne Bier and Cathy Schulman at the forefront of THE FIRST LADY. They have truly set the stage for a landmark SHOWTIME series.”

In the East Wing of the White House, many of history’s most impactful and world-changing decisions have been hidden from view, made by America’s charismatic, complex and dynamic First Ladies. This series will peel back the curtain on the personal and political lives of three unique, enigmatic women, tracing their journeys to Washington through interweaving storylines with an enlightening intimacy, with season one focusing on Michelle Obama, Betty Ford and Eleanor Roosevelt. The series also stars Aaron Eckhart (Wander) as President Gerald Ford. Additional guest stars include Judy Greer as Betty Ford’s trusted confidante and social secretary Nancy Howe, Jayme Lawson as young Michelle Obama, Kristine Forseth as young Betty Ford, and Rhys Wakefield as President Ford’s Deputy Chief of Staff Dick Cheney.

Anderson earned her sixth career Golden Globe nomination earlier this month for her performance as Margaret Thatcher on The Crown. Previously, she won Emmy, Golden Globe and two Screen Actors Guild awards for her lead drama actress role as Dana Scully on The X-Files. She also received Emmy, Golden Globe and BAFTA(R) nominations for Bleak House, and won the British Independent Film Award for Best Actress thanks to her work in The House of Mirth. She has five career Emmy nominations and earned her seventh SAG Award nomination as well. Her other recent noteworthy credits include Sex Education, All About Eve, American Gods, The Fall, War & Peace, Hannibal and Great Expectations.

Eleanor Roosevelt served as the First Lady of the United States from 1933 to 1945, making her the longest serving First Lady in history. She was an American political figure, diplomat and activist. Controversial for her outspokenness, particularly on civil rights, she was the first presidential spouse to hold regular press conferences, write a daily newspaper column and host a weekly radio show. She also pushed the United States to join and support the United Nations and became its first delegate.

Schulman’s company Welle Entertainment is dedicated to making female-facing content. Schulman and Gaspin read a spec script Cooley had written about First Lady Edith Wilson, and that inspired them to re-examine the families in the White House through the eyes of the First Ladies.

Cathy Schulman, via her Welle Entertainment, executive produces THE FIRST LADY (w/t) along with Aaron Cooley, JuVee Productions’ Davis, Julius Tennon and Andrew Wang, Susanne Bier, Jeff Gaspin via Gaspin Media and Brad Kaplan via Link Entertainment.

SHOWTIME is currently available to subscribers via cable, DBS, and telco providers, and as a stand-alone streaming service through Amazon, Apple(R), Google, LG Smart TVs, Oculus Go, Roku(R), Samsung Smart TVs, Xbox One and PlayStation(R)4. Consumers can also subscribe to SHOWTIME via Amazon’s Prime Video Channels, Apple TV Channels, AT&T TV Now, FuboTV, Hulu, The Roku Channel, Sling TV and YouTube TV or directly at www.showtime.com.

Documentary Directed by Emmy(R) Nominee Nadia Hallgren Provides Rare Glimpse Behind the Scenes of the Year’s Biggest Live Show Executive Produced by Emmy Nominee Jesse Collins

NEW YORK – February 12, 2021 – SHOWTIME has announced that it will air THE SHOW, a 90-minute feature documentary that will provide a unique, first-ever look into the making of the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. This year’s show starred The Weeknd and was executive produced by Emmy nominee Jesse Collins (BET Awards, Grammy(R) Awards, Oscars(R)), Roc Nation and directed by acclaimed multi-award nominated Hamish Hamilton (who has directed the Halftime Show since 2010). Directed by Emmy nominee Nadia Hallgren (Becoming), THE SHOW is produced by the Pepsi in-house content studio and Boardwalk Pictures (Cheer, Chef’s Table) and will premiere later this year.

This past Sunday, nearly 100 million people around the world tuned in to watch The Weeknd’s visual and sonic artistry on the Halftime Show stage. What the world witnessed was the product of tireless hours, days and months of collaboration among first-time Halftime Show executive producer Collins, brought on by second-time executive producers Roc Nation (and other entertainment industry visionaries) to pull off one of the biggest musical productions during one of the most challenging, unprecedented times. Despite the logistical challenges that the collective team faced in the lead-up, the result is what the world saw Sunday – an imaginative, out-of-the-box performance.

“The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show is undoubtedly the world’s biggest stage, producing the most viewed and talked about moment in music every single year. The pressure to deliver an iconic, memorable and entertaining performance is felt well beyond the artist, as there are a number of people – behind the scenes – who are vital to its success,” said Todd Kaplan, VP of Marketing – Pepsi. “With our new documentary coming to SHOWTIME, we are taking fans on the emotional and thrilling journey of what it takes to make the biggest show of the year – with the added complexity of doing so amidst a global pandemic. With Jesse Collins and a number of super-talented creatives at the helm, THE SHOW chronicles all the drama and hard work that goes into successfully pulling off a show of this magnitude.”

“Anchored by The Weeknd’s dynamic performance, THE SHOW is a worthy snapshot of the tremendous artistry and effort that goes into the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show,” said Kent Sevener, Executive Vice President Content Acquisition, Showtime Networks Inc. “Jesse Collins has been absolutely passionate about this project, and Nadia Hallgren brings the kind of energy and insight that will make this behind-the-scenes look a transformative experience and something unique for SHOWTIME viewers.”

THE SHOW is being brought to life by award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer Nadia Hallgren from The Bronx, New York. She directed the four-time Emmy-nominated documentary Becoming (2020) and made history as the first person to receive Emmy nominations for both Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program and Outstanding Cinematography for a Nonfiction Program on the same project. (Becoming producer Lauren Cioffi will join Nadia to produce THE SHOW.) In 2019, her documentary short, After Maria, was shortlisted for an Academy Award. Nadia won the Special Jury prize at SXSW in 2018 for her independent documentary series She’s The Ticket and a Webby Award for Gavin Grimm Vs.

“This historic year with Jesse Collins as the first Black EP of the Halftime Show brought an opportunity to tell a new story,” said Nadia. “We get a window into the process of a diverse team of executives and creatives working at the highest level, in front of and behind the camera. It’s fun to see these masters at work while they also uplift others. I hope this can inspire people to pursue big dreams.”

Collins’ work on the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show marks his first year, joining Roc Nation, as its executive producer. Working alongside Collins was a cast of entertainment production leaders including: XO’s La Mar Taylor (Creative Director for The Weeknd), acclaimed creative set designer Es Devlin, Lila Nikole (the first Latina costume designer to work on the Halftime Show), Bruce Rodgers on set build, Dionne Harmon as a producer, and Charm La’Donna, the choreographer behind the world’s biggest pop stars, developing choreography.

Some of the award-winning and critically-acclaimed television that Collins has executive produced includes miniseries The New Edition Story, scripted series American Soul, children’s series Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices, award shows BET Awards, Black Girls Rock! and Soul Train Awards, specials John Lewis: Celebrating A Hero, Love & Happiness: An Obama Farewell, Change Together: From The March On Washington To Today and Def Comedy Jam 25; and competition/game shows Sunday Best and Rhythm & Flow. He is also a co-executive producer for the Grammy Awards and will next executive produce the 93rd Annual Academy Awards in April 2021.

The Super Bowl LV Halftime Show was the Pepsi brand’s 10th time as presenting sponsor of the event, ninth year in a row and second year in the partnership formed between NFL and Roc Nation.

On Friday, April 2, Bellator MMA will kick off the new era with the next round of the Featherweight World Grand Prix, as Bellator’s reigning lightweight and featherweight champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire (31-4) defends his 145-pound title against Emmanuel Sanchez (20-4) in the semifinals. Both fighters are vying for a chance to move on in the single-elimination tournament to face undefeated A.J. McKee (17-0), who has already punched his ticket to the finals with an impressive first-round submission victory in November. Fans can expect fireworks as these men attempt to take home the Bellator Featherweight World Title and the World Grand Prix $1 million prize.

Then, on the next two Friday nights, April 9 and April 16, Bellator MMA will present the opening rounds of the stacked Light Heavyweight World Grand Prix tournament. Starting on April 9, current Bellator heavyweight champion and former light heavyweight champion Ryan Bader (27-6, 1 NC) takes on former UFC champion Lyoto Machida (26-10) in a rematch of their 2012 bout, while two recent high-profile free agent signings Anthony “Rumble” Johnson (22-6) and Yoel Romero (13-5) clash in a battle of Bellator newcomers. On April 16, Bellator’s 28-year-old current titleholder Vadim Nemkov (13-2) defends his belt in a rematch against another former Bellator champ in Phil Davis (22-5, 1 NC) and top contender Corey Anderson (14-5) takes on Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov (18-5-1) who will make his Bellator debut. These eight superstars will vie for the tournament title and the Bellator World Championship belt throughout the year in the single-elimination tournament.

The month of May sees an additional championship on the line, as newly crowned bantamweight titleholder Juan Archuleta (25-2) takes on No. 1-contender Sergio Pettis (20-5) on May 7. Archuleta took home the vacant 135-pound title in September with a dominant performance, while Pettis cemented his position with an impressive 2020 campaign that saw his Bellator debut end with the first submission-victory of his career.

Additional events in May and complete fight cards are to be announced in the coming weeks. Please visit Bellator.com and SHO.com for more information.
