On Tuesday, October 5 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT Mary Kay Letourneau: ‘Til Death delves into the infamous relationship with PEOPLE magazine reporter Steve Helling who has covered the couple for 15 years and Letourneau’s best friend Ann Bremner who give viewers personal insight into the lives of the controversial couple during Letourneau’s last days on earth before dying of cancer in 2020. Making her own controversial headlines during her life and definitely after she passed was billionaire real estate mogul and hotelier Leona Helmsley. In her will she disinherited family members while leaving $12 million to her dog “Trouble”. Despite being dubbed the Queen of Mean for her ruthless approach to building a massively successful real estate empire based in New York City Helmsley left the bulk of her $4.8 billion fortune to be divvied up to charities devoted solely to the care and welfare of canines. The trouble is she wasn’t specific enough in her will and it triggered several lawsuits from charities as well as disgruntled family members.

Helmsley began earning her massive fortune as a real estate mogul working from a secretary to owning her own company before becoming even more wealthy after marrying billionaire husband Harry Helmsley. A hotel heiress her reputation was not only built on the back of her prized property holdings including 30 national hotels, New York’s iconic Flatiron building and the Empire State Building it was also built on the backs of her employees who claimed she ripped them off, fired them without cause and ran her properties with an iron fist earning her the nickname from the press as the “Queen of Mean”. Helmsley’s ultra-lavish lifestyle and penchant for working the tax system would ultimately become her undoing in court after she was convicted of federal income tax evasion and other crimes. Years later at the time of her death the late real estate mogul was worth between $4 billion to $8 billion. Unlike some celebrities Helmlsey did leave behind a will and many would speculate that her estate would be split fairly amongst her living heirs. But in true Helmsley fashion she instead leaves a will behind that cuts out two of her grandchildren and leaves as much as $12 million to her Maltese dog companion named “Trouble” and billions to unspecified canine charities triggering a series of legal battles over who is entitled to what in the Helmlsey empire. (Albuquerque, NM) Thursday, August 5, 2021 – REELZ today announced its September 2021 premieres anchored by original documentary CIA vs. Bin Laden: First In showcasing an extraordinary level of cooperation with the CIA revealing the inside story of tracking down Osama Bin Laden. September 2021 premieres also include the return of original series Life, Death & Money with two new stories celebrating the powerful careers of Marvin Gaye and Selena whose tragic and shocking deaths were followed by monumental estate battles with millions of dollars in the balance and history making legal decisions. Making its REELZ premiere in September is The Story of Soaps chronicling the cultural influence and addictive storytelling of soap operas.

“In remembering 9/11 on its 20th anniversary it’s important to capture the real stories of people in the CIA who were directly tasked with tracking down the man responsible for those tragic events and CIA vs Bin Laden: First In is a riveting account of what transpired inside one of the most secretive organizations in the world,” said Steve Cheskin, SVP of Programming at REELZ. “September premieres also celebrate two iconic stars in Marvin Gaye and Selena whose popularity after their untimely deaths generates millions of dollars leading to game changing lawsuits to decide who profits.”

The horrific events of 9/11 left America wounded and hungry for justice. The hunt for Osama Bin Laden would begin and the Central Intelligence Agency was tasked to execute the search. Now for the first time members of the CIA who were directly involved reveal the inside story of the mission to hunt down the most wanted terrorist on the planet by one of the world’s most secretive and powerful organizations. On Sunday, September 5 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT CIA vs Bin Laden: First In features interviews with 18 people including senior CIA leaders who played critical roles in the hunt for Bin Laden, many of whom have accounts that have never been publicly told until now, in addition to former senior officials of French and British intelligence agencies.

Soulful singer and songwriter Marvin Gaye had a golden voice that brought him fame and fortune but his shocking murder by his own father revealed an estate in disarray as Gaye died without a will and $9 million in debt. Gaye’s estate needed to harness the earning potential of his intellectual property rights to pay the debt and nearly 30 years after his death a controversial copyright lawsuit filed against recording artists Robin Thicke, Pharrell Williams and T.I. for their 2013 megahit “Blurred Lines” had the potential to eliminate what Gaye owed. Marvin Gaye: Life, Death & Money on Wednesday, September 15 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT celebrates his powerful career and the multi-million dollar fight Gaye’s family waged after his death that would make music copyright history. Like Gaye, groundbreaking and record setting Latin music star Selena Quintanilla had massive earning potential after her untimely death and also died without a will so who was entitled to her estate? Selena was on the brink of mainstream pop success with the release of her first English language album when one woman’s obsession cut her life short at just 23 years old. Despite constant touring, several albums and a rising fashion brand at the time her death Selena’s estate was worth $326,000 but after her death Selena’s popularity skyrocketed as did the value of her estate. On Wednesday, September 22 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT Selena: Life, Death & Money reveals the legal clash that unfolded 20 years after her passing when widower Chris Perez is approached to make a TV series about his life with Selena but her father steps in to stop it resulting in an estate dispute about who has the right to tell her story and who is entitled to its massive royalties.

While Selena’s story ended in real tragedy the themes of deceit, passion, heartbreak and love in her life were a perfect fit for a TV drama. In an ode to the master storytelling in daytime dramas The Story of Soaps makes its REELZ premiere on Saturday, September 25 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT featuring Bryan Cranston, Chandra Wilson, Alec Baldwin and many more along with legendary writers, producers and fervent fans sharing their love for the power of soap operas. The Story of Soaps details why soap operas have been a part of American households for decades giving audiences a daily dose of captivating stories, love-to-hate characters, power couples and nail-biting cliffhangers.

The Story of the Soaps at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT

Below are detailed descriptions for September 2021 programming listed by premiere date and time:

CIA vs. Bin Laden: First In Premieres on Sunday, September 5 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. CIA vs. Bin Laden: First In is the most revealing documentary produced about the 10 year hunt for Osama Bin Laden by the Central Intelligence Agency. The documentary features interviews with 18 people including the former CIA director, CIA case officers, military leaders, members of European intelligence services and a U.S. Congressman who all had direct roles in the hunt and elimination of the world’s most wanted terrorist. Many of the people most deeply involved with tracking down Bin Laden have been reluctant to share their stories until now. There was simply no benefit for these quiet professionals, their families, or the agencies they served to be in the public eye but they have collectively decided that now is the time to go on record and tell their stories before it’s too late. CIA vs. Bin Laden: First In is produced by KM Plus Media s.r.o., Big Media Holdings, LLC, RMC Production and RMC Films.

Marvin Gaye: Life, Death & Money Premieres on Wednesday, September 15 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT. On April 1, 1984 legendary soul singer Marvin Gaye was shot and killed inside his California home by his own father after a domestic dispute. Gaye’s family would grieve the death of a son, brother and father who died depressed, drug-addicted and more than $9 million in debt. Without a will the fate of Gaye’s financial legacy was left to a court-appointed bankruptcy attorney to salvage with the family. With savvy marketing of Gaye’s song royalties, image rights and even the official rights to produce his life story the executor of the Gaye estate paid off the debts and accumulated several million dollars in assets. Gaye’s three children, as the heirs under intestate law, reaped the benefits for years. Knowing their father’s value and musical style it’s no surprise that when Gaye’s children heard the 2013 megahit “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke, Pharrell Williams and T.I. on the radio alarm bells went off. As they would later argue in court “Blurred Lines” closely mirrored the “feeling” of their father’s 1977 song “Got to Give It Up”. Gaye’s estate attorneys would aim to justify that “Blurred Lines” could not exist without Gaye’s original recording. This would blow open a massive copyright infringement case among Gaye’s estate and the three famous artists ultimately making Gaye’s song a turning point in music copyright history that would have a massive ramifications for artists in the music industry. Marvin Gaye: Life, Death & Money is produced by Buck Productions.

Selena: Life, Death & Money Premieres on Wednesday, September 22 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT. Known as the “Queen of Tejano Music” at just 23 years old Selena Quintanilla was on the brink of a mainstream pop breakout with the impending release of her first English language album. With major record sales, lucrative endorsements and a burgeoning retail fashion line it appeared as though the rising star would conquer the music world. However, Selena’s life would instead be cut short when a jealous friend and employee named Yolanda Saldívar shoots and kills the young singer in a motel room on March 31, 1995. Selena’s family and fans were shattered but for her family grief soon turned into talk about Selena’s money and legacy after it was revealed she died without a will. Before her death Selena had signed over her image rights directly to her father and manager Abraham Quintanilla. This meant that he alone would have the ability to control Selena’s name, voice and image which would dictate the future earnings for him, Selena’s sibling bandmates and her widower Chris Perez. This is where the future estate war unknowingly begins for Perez against his father-in-law. In 2012 Perez independently releases the bestselling autobiography “To Selena With Love” and the book is so successful it is optioned to become a TV series but not before Perez is hit with a $1 million lawsuit by Abraham. According to Abraham, Perez has no right to adapt his book into a TV show about his late wife. What follows is a legal battle that cracks open long-buried family tensions and raises questions about who has the right to tell Selena’s story and who stands to profit. Selena: Life, Death & Money is produced by Buck Productions.

The Story of Soaps makes its REELZ Premiere on Saturday, September 25 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. An incredible panel of voices including Alec Baldwin, Carol Burnett, Jon Hamm, Denise Richards, Andy Cohen, Chandra Wilson, Bryan Cranston, John Stamos and many more share their stories of working on soap operas. From its daytime origins to primetime incarnations such as Dallas and Melrose Place through the advent of reality TV The Story of Soaps explores the escapism and indulgence soap operas created. A look at the remarkable life of a true comedy giant leads August 2021 premieres with Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Jerry Lewis” on Sunday, August 1 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. His trademark physical humor inspired generations of comedians and earned him the nickname the ‘King of Comedy’ but behind his image as a benevolent clown who raised billions for charity there were rumors of a different Lewis. Was there a secret hiding behind the funny façade Lewis so successfully perfected over the years and did his signature pratfall comedy style play a role in what eventually took his life?

Kicking off REELZFest programming on Saturday, August 14 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT is Jim Morrison: Rider on the Storm exploring the mercurial journey of The Doors frontman whose electrifying performances, rebel spirit and provocative lyrics changed rock music. But behind his mysterious rock star poet persona was a troubled and restless soul trapped in a life damaged by heavy substance abuse and eventually mired in controversy after he became the first ever rock star arrested on stage during a live performance. Now in rare archive interviews hear Morrison in his own words discuss fame, becoming a sex symbol and how he pushed back against any label. While Morrison symbolized the psychedelic rock star of the ’60s the band with the mind-bending sound was Pink Floyd. On Sunday, August 15 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT Pink Floyd: Breaking the Band examines the rapid ascent and trickling breakup of the wildly successful group that sold more than 250 million albums. But before Pink Floyd took off their lead singer and co-founder was ousted from the band for excessive and debilitating drug use. The band would not derail and with the release of their iconic “The Dark Side of the Moon” album everything changed. Huge money, global fame and power struggles chipped away at Pink Floyd but what exactly made this unique mega selling band finally fall apart? Meteoric success, toxic jealousy and creative rivalries are also pillars in the story of progressive rock juggernaut Genesis. On Sunday, August 15 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT Genesis: Breaking the Band former lead guitarist Steve Hackett shares his first-hand experiences of the band’s incredible success, the story behind his departure and witnessing the clashes between singer Peter Gabriel and drummer Phil Collins that would spawn their remarkable solo careers.

Then on Saturday, August 21 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT it’s the REELZ premiere of music documentary Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey exploring heavy metal music as a cultural phenomenon with its legends Tony Iommi, Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie among others giving their take on the genre, its global fanbase and wild stories from decades of performing. Within the heavy metal music family is a branch of glam metal epitomized by the band Whitesnake with its lead singer David Coverdale’s big voice, searing guitar riffs, tight leather pants and big hair. On Sunday, August 22 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT Whitesnake: Breaking the Band see the band that emerged from English badlands hungry to conquer the world but to hone the sound that would rock America it would take 10 years and a constantly changing lineup. With more than 15 million albums sold Whitesnake was a success but it was all built on Coverdale’s ruthless and singular ambition and at height of their power he threw it all away. The pantheon of hard rock is not complete without Alice Cooper. Dubbed “The Godfather of Shock Rock” Alice Cooper’s signature brand of heavy metal included a wild and often controversial stage show that involved pyrotechnics, live animals and fake blood. Before its lead singer legally changed his name to Alice Cooper, the name was for a rock band that achieved huge success in record time but the pressure to keep performing turned toxic. In Alice Cooper: Breaking the Band on Sunday, August 22 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT see the story of the legendary group whose story went from a party to a horror show.

As possibly the most fascinating, successful and troubled superstars of all time Michael Jackson was a singular talent who captivated crowds and stirred strong reactions among fans and observers. Alongside the remarkable performances and die hard fans was a deeply damaged man. In Michael Jackson: Inside His Mind on Thursday, August 26 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT psychiatrist Dr. Bob Johnson psychologically profiles the complex mind of the pop icon from his abusive childhood to his insatiable need for attention and the origins for compulsions that drove his often erratic behavior. On Saturday, August 28 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage makes its REELZ premiere with the story of the Canadian rock band power trio exploring their 40 years of rock and roll success, setbacks and soaring popularity. From the Rush’s working class roots and struggle to land a record deal to globetrotting tours with legends including KISS this is the complete inside story of one of the most influential bands of all time. Closing out REELZFest on Sunday, August 29 are the back-to-back premieres of Metallica: Breaking the Band at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT and AC/DC: Breaking the Band at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT about the fabled bands who share stories of pushing through heartbreaking tragedies on their way to making music history. Metallica is the highest selling heavy metal bands in history with five consecutive chart-topping albums along with 1,600 shows and nearly $1.5 billion in gross sales. But their massive musical success came with destructive excess and intra-band rivalries led to mayhem with extreme personalities battling for the spotlight. But as the young band ascended to its lofty status tragedy struck when bassist Cliff Burton dies after the band’s motorhome crashes. The death would reverberate through Metallica for years and it would take hundreds of thousands of dollars in therapy to get the band back on track. Selling more than 200 million records and playing more than 2,500 concerts worldwide explosive Australian rockers AC/DC blew away everything in front of them. The band’s two founding brothers Malcolm and Angus Young had a relentless drive to succeed that would leave carnage in its wake and splinter the band. Former bassist Mark Evans shares his experiences from the legendary in-studio guitar solo by Angus that literally lit the studio on fire to his fallout with Angus that led to Evans leaving the band.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Jerry Lewis” Premieres on Sunday, August 1 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. Jerry Lewis was still working into his 90s up until just a few months before his death. But 75 years in the limelight took its toll on this comic legend. His body paid the price for his knockabout clown image which centered around elaborate and frequent pratfalls after he suffered a permanent back injury at just 38 years old that would cause him a lifetime of chronic pain and led to an addiction to opioid painkillers. He was a heavy smoker for more than 40 years and the doctors discovered congenital heart issues when he was just a teenager. He died at the age of 91 of cardiac disease but what was it that kept Lewis living and working so long? Renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter doesn’t think his cardiac failure is the whole story behind his death. Dr. Hunter delves deep into Lewis’ records to discover whether there was something else going on in his body that contributed to his eventual demise. Sharing their personal stories of Lewis are his daughter Danielle Lewis and widow Sandra Lewis. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Jim Morrison: Rider on the Storm Premieres on Saturday, August 14 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. In July 1965 Jim Morrison ran into classmate and keyboardist Ray Manzarek on a beach in Venice California and the two decided to start a rock band. Just two short years later The Doors hit “Light My Fire” topped the Billboard Hot 100. As one of the most memorable artists of the 20th century the creative rebel brilliance of Morrison was only matched by his penchant for raw self-destruction which culminated in his untimely death at just 27 years old. Jim Morrison: Rider on the Storm explores every chapter of the mysterious rocker’s life and his search for his true identity. Did Morrison himself even know who he wanted to be? Morrison’s extraordinary story reveals the rock icon as a chameleon constantly shifting personalities and personas to manifest his wild artistic sparks. From the seeds of his anti-authority spirit planted in his youth from clashes with his strict U.S. Navy Rear Admiral father to the excesses of ’60s rock stardom hear Morrison in his own words discuss his youth and becoming a celebrity. Morrison could be a sensitive friend, an aspiring poet, a caring lover or an out of control alcoholic hell bent on confrontation which was all seen by The Doors road manager Vince Treaner who shares his experience with the complex rocker. Did Morrison’s constant quest to express his artistic urges and rebel against any authority become the catalyst for his untimely death? Jim Morrison: Rider on the Storm is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Pink Floyd: Breaking the Band Premieres on Sunday, August 15 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. With their astounding 250 million albums sold Pink Floyd is among the most successful rock bands of all time but the band was nearly broken before they rocketed to success. The British rockers had always been at the center of ’60s psychedelic rock era with their experimental sound incorporating sound effects and playing live gigs with long and improvised sets but lead guitarist and singer Syd Barrett took it too far. Barrett became so engulfed in his addiction to drugs the band ousted him and were back to the drawing board. The band’s bass player Roger Waters picked up the reigns and began writing the album that would become “The Dark Side of the Moon”. Upon its release in 1973 the album went straight to the top of the Billboard 100 and stayed in the charts for a record setting 18 years and would go on to sell more than 45 million copies alone making Pink Floyd certified superstars. But the extreme swing in fortune for the band after toiling for years began to rip them at the seams. Add on the pressure of trying to follow up an iconic album and mix in intra-band power struggles and Pink Floyd was a powder keg. “The Dark Side of the Moon” like the four records that followed it was the brainchild of Waters who became so convinced Pink Floyd’s success was only down to him that he tried to bury the band so he could prosper alone. Breaking the Band is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Genesis: Breaking the Band Premieres on Sunday, August 15 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. One of the biggest bands of the 20th century Genesis sold more 100 million albums worldwide and sold out thousands of shows. But their story is as remarkable for the band’s success as it is for their extraordinary transformation from cult progressive rockers to pop-rock superstars. Along the way power struggles saw the band fragment with lead singer Peter Gabriel and eventually drummer Phil Collins both leaving to launch massively successful solo careers. See the band’s remarkable creation and survival story from their early beginnings in a sleepy part of England to sold out global tours and chart topping hits as they infused a decade with their iconic sound. Genesis lead guitarist Steve Hackett shares his personal experience detailing his reaction to Gabriel getting a hot Hollywood offer that saw him leave the band on a whim as well as the intense creative clashes that led to Gabriel’s final departure from Genesis to start his solo career. When Gabriel left Genesis was bankrupt, without its lead singer and written off by the music press as yesterday’s news. What followed was an amazing turn of fortune driven by a refocused group with Collins as the lead singer as the band recorded their most commercially successful album ever. Still, creative differences remained as did financial struggles. Hackett also reveals what prompted his own departure from the band leaving Genesis to just three members before yet another and final breakup. Breaking the Band is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey Makes Its REELZ Premiere on Saturday, August 21 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. Who is really behind the popularization of the heavy metal horn hand gesture? Viewers also see why heavy metal artists have long had an obsession with some of life’s most provocative subjects including sexuality, religion, violence and death. This groundbreaking documentary is the first of its kind presenting both a defense of a long-misunderstood art form and a window for the outsider into the spectacle that is heavy metal. Sharing their first hand experiences as legends of the genre are Tony Iommi, Alice Cooper, Dio, Dee Snider as well as Tom Morello and Rob Zombie among others. Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey is produced by Banger Films.

Whitesnake: Breaking the Band Premieres on Sunday, August 22 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. Whitesnake was the brainchild of former Deep Purple frontman David Coverdale. They appeared on the English music scene in 1978 with raunchy lyrics and a big blues rock sound. Over the next 12 years Coverdale’s grit and determination went on to drive the band to become one of the biggest successes of the “Hair Metal Age”. But there were plenty of casualties on the way with a host of lineup changes as Coverdale ruthlessly searched for the winning formula. Hit songs like “Here I Go Again” and “Fool For Your Loving” along with famously big hair, Coverdale’s unique voice and stellar guitar playing pushed them to the forefront of the glam rock consciousness. With an image that went from blues musicians with tailored moustaches to leather clad rockers with bouffant hair Whitesnake sold millions of albums worldwide and their sexy glamourous videos defined an era but the band’s story is one filled with personal rifts and an epic meltdown. Breaking the Band is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Alice Cooper: Breaking the Band Premieres on Sunday, August 22 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. The band Alice Cooper rose from total anonymity to become one of the highest grossing groups in the world capturing the imagination of a generation with iconic hits including “School’s Out” and their provocative often controversial stage show. But the pressure to continue their success was immense. And when their intriguing frontman began to monopolize the spotlight it rankled the other band members. Mix in addictions, jealousy and greed and it would only be three years after their first hit that the band Alice Cooper would implode. The lead singer changed his name to Alice Cooper and became a cultural icon while the other members of the group quietly moved into the background. Breaking the Band is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Michael Jackson: Inside His Mind Premieres on Thursday, August 26 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. Innocent or guilty? Black or white? Man or child? Extrovert or introvert? Michael Jackson left many questions about his life unanswered. His controversial decisions involving personal relationships, child care, spending habits and drug dependency make his story one of the great riddles of pop culture and music. So who was this man and why did he operate in such strange ways with such bizarre consequences? In Michael Jackson: Inside His Mind psychiatrist Dr. Bob Johnson examines Jackson’s childhood, relationship with his father and siblings, incredible early superstardom followed by an adult life of untold riches, horrific accusations and exile. In doing so he stitches together the man behind the mask of plastic surgery, misinformation and mystery. What led Jackson to a strange lifelong obsession with childhood that eventually contributed to his own self-destruction? Did his life as a global star where normal boundaries didn’t exist make him believe he was untouchable and influence his own moral compass? How did his experiences of childhood shape his own seemingly disturbed reality? Go inside the complex and controversial mind of Michael Jackson with insight from several people who knew Jackson personally including former manager Dieter Wiesner, friend Mark Lester, The Jackson 5 keyboard player Ronnie Rancifer and Jackson family neighbor Reynaud Jones among others. While in prison Smith had sex with two prison guards who would eventually both lose their jobs and face convictions for illegal conduct. One of those guards, Alfred Rowe, shares a shockingly candid account of how the devious double murderess seduced him and how their secret sexual relationship left a devastating path of carnage in its wake.

Wildlife icon and passionate conservationist Steve Irwin wrestled crocodiles on The Crocodile Hunter watched by millions. When it emerged that the 44-year-old Irwin had been killed from a stingray barb to the heart there was disbelief given his decades of experience with dangerous animals and the fact that stingrays are relatively docile. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Steve Irwin” on Sunday, July 18 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT examines Irwin’s untimely death through the lens of his health leading up to that fateful day. Was there anything in his medical history that played a factor in the tragedy? Like Irwin, magician Roy Horn wowed audiences working with dangerous animals in what would become the world famous Siegfried and Roy shows featuring tigers, big cats and other large animals. Roy performed more than 30,000 live shows in 45 years with Siegfried grossing more than $1 billion but the show abruptly ended after a tiger attacked Horn. He survived but was partially paralyzed and lived for several more years but on May 8, 2020 at the age of 75 Horn became one of the first celebrities to die from complications with COVID-19. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Roy Horn” on Sunday, July 18 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT examines what was going on inside Horn’s body that left him vulnerable to the disease.

Leonard Nimoy gave life to one of television’s greatest characters in the half-human, half-Vulcan alien Spock on Star Trek. Although he spent only three years on the original Star Trek series before it was canceled Nimoy demonstrated a relentless work ethic. For nearly two decades his constant drive to achieve eventually started to cast a shadow on his health. In Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Leonard Nimoy” on Sunday, July 25 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT see how years of smoking cigarettes led to the complex lung disorder chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). If proper treatment is established early people with COPD can live for several years so why did Nimoy die so quickly after his diagnosis? Joining Spock as a treasured and instantly recognizable character is Verne Troyer’s Mini-Me in the hit Austin Powers movie franchise which launched Troyer to global stardom but his success came with a heavy toll on his health. With Troyer’s fame came over indulgence in the form of heavy drinking exasperating his struggles with depression and severely stressing his body. His death at 49 years old from a reported suicide by excessive alcohol consumption seemed like a tragic end but in Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Verne Troyer” on Sunday, July 25 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT, Dr. Hunter reveals an integral and overlooked piece of Troyer’s autopsy report that could turn the suicide conclusion on its head.

Initially packs of Oceanic Whitetip and Tiger sharks focused on the floating dead but eventually they massed into a ruthless army and picked off the injured and struggling killing an estimated 150 sailors. Ultimately through shear tenacity and courage 316 survived the horrific ordeal. The disaster would become the greatest single loss of life at sea from a single ship in U.S. Navy history. It was during a traumatic childhood in post-war Germany that Roy developed a unique ability to work with animals. In partnership with budding magician Siegfried he took his talent to the stage and the pair developed a live act that starred cheetahs, lions and tigers. They went from touring the clubs of Europe to scoring their own headline residency as the hottest act in Las Vegas going on to perform more than 30,000 shows becoming one of the most successful live performances of all time and in 2000 were named Magicians of the Century. But in 2003 tragedy struck when Roy was mauled onstage and almost killed by a tiger. He was left partially paralyzed but his strength to survive and recover from the incident was heralded as miraculous. Years later at the age of 75 he died from complications with COVID-19. It’s a highly contagious disease but has a low mortality rate with 94% of those who’ve died from it having at least one other pre-existing health condition. So what made Horn’s infection turn fatal? Renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter analyzes every detail of Horn’s available medical history to piece together what else was going on inside his body to find the answers. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Over the next 16 years while supporting his young family he became the ultimate bit-part actor mostly playing tough guys but in 1966 an opportunity came on a new show called Star Trek. With an insatiable drive to succeed Nimoy put everything he had into the character of Spock. Over the next two decades he worked at a blistering pace taking on producing and directing duties in addition to acting much to the detriment of his family life and especially his health. Along the way Nimoy picked up a few vices to cope with his stress resorting to smoking cigarettes and eventually heavy drinking after long taping days. Nimoy developed COPD which is known as a smoker’s disease but he quit smoking 30 years before he died so were there other contributing factors to his death? Renowned pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter uses first-hand accounts of Nimoy’s life to find the truth behind the character traits and lifestyle choices that ultimately caused the global pop culture figure’s death. In managing his physical pain, depression demons and dwindling fame Troyer’s heavy drinking spiraled into suicidal behavior with calls to 911 wanting to end his life. But now renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter investigates the medical evidence surrounding Troyer’s case and uncovers some startling revelations that could flip the suicide ruling on its head. The June lineup begins with Robert Earl’s Be My Guest making its REELZ premiere with two back-to-back episodes every Sunday in June starting on Sunday, June 6 at 11am ET/ 8am PT with the famed entrepreneur and restaurateur Robert Earl hosting a culinary tour through everything from elegant fine dining hot spots to hole-in-the-wall hidden gems with celebrity guests including Boy George, Wes Craven and Lance Bass sharing their favorite restaurants across America.

Sundays in June also include back-to-back new episodes of Autopsy: The Last Hours of… starting on Sunday, June 6 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT with the story of Andy Griffith followed by Elizabeth Montgomery at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. Griffith brilliantly played the small town sheriff and gentle country father in The Andy Griffith Show as well as criminal defense attorney Ben Matlock in 181 episodes of Matlock but his achievements spanned many genres as Griffith also starred in 73 movies and won a Grammy Award(R) for a gospel album. But behind the public face lived a different man who was very private and loved his vices. Did Griffith’s secret life play a key role in his demise? Montgomery was one of the most treasured small screen actresses for more than four decades known for starring in Bewitched which ran for eight seasons with Montgomery nominated for nine Emmy Awards(R) and four Golden Globe Awards(R) but she concealed a life- threatening secret. She was diagnosed with colon cancer and died just one month later. Colon cancer should be very straightforward to treat provided it’s caught early and the symptoms are wide ranging and easy to recognize so why did Montgomery succumb to the disease so fast?

Sonny Bono was not only the visionary behind one of pop’s greatest duos, Sonny and Cher, after the couple split he stayed busy as a restaurateur followed by four years as mayor of Palm Springs and eventually becoming a congressman. He died after crashing head first into a tree while skiing but Bono was known to be an expert skier and had been skiing for decades at the resort where he died. On Sunday, June 13 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Sonny Bono” examines whether something in Bono’s medical history could have possibly caused this fatal collision. Immediately following at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT is the story of another shocking celebrity death in Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Bob Crane” but in Crane’s case it was a brutal, mysterious and still unsolved murder that took the life of one of the hottest TV actors of 1960s with Crane as the wisecracking lead actor in Hogan’s Heroes loved by millions. Now medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter delves into the case using multiple police forensic reports, witness statements and crime scene photographs together with Crane’s autopsy in hopes of shedding new light on the murder.

Whitney Houston was the most award-winning female artist of all time who at one point signed a $100 million recording contract and in 1987 alone reportedly earned $44 million. But when she died unexpectedly at just 48 years old in 2012 some reports suggested she was broke and even owed $11 million in unpaid taxes. Whitney Houston: Life, Death & Money on Thursday, June 17 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT details the remarkable story of Houston’s estate. Her primary heir and daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown was in the crosshairs of a family feud involving her father Bobby Brown and others but it would all end in tragedy yet again before a heart-dropping reveal about who would ultimately control the Houston estate.

They were the golden voices who exuded charisma and were the epitome of effortless cool for decades. Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin were both key members of the A-list group of celebrity friends known as the Rat Pack and the two singers also performed on big and small screens sharing abundant success. But they also shared a love for heavy drinking, smoking and late-night living that took its toll on their health. Sinatra died at 82 years old from a heart attack but what exactly caused his heart to fail? On Sunday, June 20 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Frank Sinatra” looks at his stellar career and the big life event he experienced a decade before his death that could have changed everything for him. Then at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT it’s Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Dean Martin” about the singer, comedian and actor who delighted audiences for more than five decades with his music, movie and TV roles. But Martin hid the personal tragedies that haunted him with a lifetime of excess that culminated in an addiction to pain medication. But did Martin have other addictions that played a role in his death?

At 95 years old Stan Lee was the king of comic books earning mega millions but the drama that ensued in the last year of his life put both his well-being and fortune in jeopardy. He was in the superhero business for nearly 80 years and his showmanship helped launch the massively lucrative Marvel Universe and its movies and TV shows with Lee having a hand in creating approximately 60 superheroes including Spiderman, the Hulk, Iron Man and Black Panther. At the time of his death some estimated his estate to be worth $50-70 million. In Stan Lee: Life, Death & Money on Saturday, June 26 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT see what unfolded behind closed doors during the final year of his life as Lee was entangled in a story that rivals the best of Marvel sagas complete with a cast of characters who positioned themselves to take advantage of his declining health and advanced age.

As the swashbuckling and self-assured 007 secret agent James Bond character in seven Bond movies over 12 years Roger Moore made the role his own with an old fashion valor, trademark humor and panache. But in real life Moore suffered from a lifetime of serious health problems. He died of liver cancer at 89 years old and on Sunday, June 27 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Roger Moore” charts a path between the action star image on screen and his medical reality to understand the truth of how he died. The truth is a murky matter in the case of silver screen star Grace Kelly. After rising to fame Kelly left Hollywood to marry Prince Rainier of Monaco and live an intensely private life until a tragic car accident took her life in 1982. With no public death certificate and her royal family remaining silent on any details questions swirled about whether her health played a role in the crash. Now Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Grace Kelly” on Sunday, June 27 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT examines what is known about Kelly’s medical history to paint a picture of her health in her final days.

Robert Earl’s Be My Guest Makes Its REELZ Premiere on Sunday, June 6 at 11am ET/ 8am PT. Outrageously charming entrepreneur and restaurateur Robert Earl is a man on a culinary quest. Through New York City’s four-star restaurants, the vibrant food truck scene in Los Angeles and hidden gems across America viewers get an intimate tour discovering new food finds. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Andy Griffith” Premieres on Sunday, June 6 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. On July 3, 2012 the sad news broke that cherished TV star of the 1960s Andy Griffith had died. In a career spanning 70 years he had charmed audiences as an actor, comedian and recording artist. But it was his performance as Sheriff Andy Taylor in The Andy Griffith Show that catapulted him into the hearts of American audiences and made him a household name. Popular for this character’s gentle kindness and good humor audiences believed he was their friend and father figure. But the public perception of Griffith was at odds with a darker side not seen on TV. Friends recall a Jekyll and Hyde personality and a man who became increasingly reclusive as he aged. Griffith’s death certificate states that he died as a result of a heart attack after years of suffering from other illnesses. Now renowned pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter investigates the health story of a man whose private habits and behaviors left him susceptible to heart disease in multiple ways. Though his death at 86 years old may not have come as a surprise what did raise eyebrows was the fact that he was buried in the grounds of his home within four and a half hours of the 911 call alerting the emergency services that he was unresponsive. As part of his investigation Dr. Hunter will uncover whether this bears any significance on the manner in which he died. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Elizabeth Montgomery” Premieres on Sunday, June 6 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. Actress Elizabeth Montgomery became a global household name for playing Samantha the nose-twitching witch in the TV series Bewitched. She was born into acting nobility following her father, two-time Oscar(R) nominated Robert Montgomery, into the profession where she built a successful and diverse acting career spanning four decades with four Golden Globe Awards(R) and nine Emmy Award(R) nominations. On May 18, 1995 Elizabeth unexpectedly died at the age of 64 after a short battle with colon cancer. She appeared to only experience six weeks of pain before a biopsy proved her cancer had reached a critical Stage IV having already spread to her liver and lungs with disastrous repercussions. Strangely, it is a disease that should be relatively easy to treat and prevent. This episode investigates and uncovers the tragic and harrowing chain of events that resulted in this much loved star passing away too early. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Sonny Bono” Premieres on Sunday, June 13 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. On January 5, 1998 congressman, restaurateur and recording artist Sonny Bono died after crashing head first into a tree on a family skiing vacation. Born in Detroit to Italian parents Bono was the mastermind behind the iconic pop duo Sonny and Cher and their hit TV show Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour seen by tens of millions of viewers every week. After an acrimonious split from Cher, Bono who was a born risk-taker never looked back as he took on new professional challenges. He went from bit-part actor to restaurateur to mayor of Palm Springs and eventually a highly regarded Republican congressman. There were no witnesses to Bono’s fatal accident so in this episode renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter uses death investigation reports alongside first-hand accounts of Bono’s life to discover what may have caused the 62-year-old expert skier to lose control and crash. Was there something in his medical history or any current treatments that could’ve contributed to Bono having such a catastrophic crash? Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Bob Crane” Premieres on Sunday, June 13 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. On the afternoon of June 29, 1978 Hogan’s Heroes star Bob Crane’s body was discovered bludgeoned to death. He was just two weeks away from his 50th birthday. The nation was stunned. Crane’s autopsy report stated he died from a blunt force impact to the head that caused massive bleeding and brain injury. There was also a ligature tied around his neck used to strangle him. His murderer has never been found. Hidden away from the adored TV show actor was Crane’s darker side including sex addiction and a penchant for filming his own sex tapes. Police found his apartment crammed full of cameras, lights and editing equipment and assumed that one of his tripods was the murder weapon as it was missing from the scene. Their attention quickly turned to John Carpenter who had introduced Crane to the then new video recording technology and who was featured in several of Crane’s lewd tapes. Carpenter had fled the scene on the morning of the murder and during their investigation police found blood in his rental car that matched Crane’s rare blood type. Authorities believed they had their man. But it would take another 16 years to bring Carpenter to trial when prosecutors believed that new techniques in DNA testing would prove it was blood from Crane. Carpenter professed his innocence throughout. Why would he kill his best friend? If it wasn’t Carpenter who was it? Now forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter reopens one of Hollywood’s most famous cold cases examining more than 700 pages of original police reports together with crime scene photographs and video to answer how Crane died so brutally. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Whitney Houston: Life, Death & Money Premieres on Thursday, June 17 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT. In 2012 internationally acclaimed pop diva and actress Whitney Houston was in the midst of yet another career revival. After finally leaving her tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown in 2007 Houston had just wrapped her latest movie Sparkle and was eager to make new music while maintaining her sobriety. But on the eve of her comeback performance at the 2012 Grammy Awards(R) she was found dead inside the bathtub of her Beverly Hills hotel room. Houston left behind an estate some estimated to be worth more than $20 million but also left behind $11 million in owed taxes. Houston’s last will and testament stated that 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown was the primary heir but the document had not been updated since Houston made it with Bobby Brown several years prior. Would Bobby Brown pursue conservatorship to control the Houston estate? Would Houston’s family step in to ensure Bobbi Kristina Brown inherits what her mother intended? Sadly just three years later, Bobbi Kristina Brown would suffer an almost identical fate as her mother drowning in a bathtub but she was put on life support. The tragedy once again put the Houston estate in limbo. With Bobbi Kristina Brown fighting for her life in a hospital bed the circumstances surrounding her accident would lead to attempted murder accusations, lawsuits and family fights over decisions about her care, money and her mother’s final legacy. Life, Death & Money is produced by Buck Productions.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Frank Sinatra” Premieres on Sunday, June 20 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. On May 14, 1998 the world was saddened by news that the legendary singer and actor Frank Sinatra had died. Arguably the most popular entertainer of the 20th century Sinatra had been performing and recording music for more than 60 years by the time of his death from heart attack at 82 years old. With his effortless sense of cool, famously blue eyes and rich voice Sinatra won the hearts of people around the world with his emotional delivery of songs and his charismatic performances on screen. Despite his heartthrob entertainer appeal Sinatra was not immune to the traumas of love. His second marriage to Ava Gardner ended following infidelity and several suicide attempts by Sinatra. He’d begun to drink heavily which would result in a decades long alcohol dependency. He also smoked and had a famously short temper. When he died from a heart attack the causes of his heart failure were clear but surprising considering just a few years prior at 79 years old he was touring frequently and had just released his most successful album ever. Now forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter asks if there were events in Sinatra’s life that could have prolonged his life and what exactly were the real causes of his heart failure? Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Dean Martin” Premieres on Sunday, June 20 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. On Christmas Day in 1995 Dean Martin aka the “King of Cool” died at the age of 78 leaving behind a five decade legacy in music, movies and television. Martin started life in the limelight as a crooner in local bars and clubs but quickly shot to international stardom as a singer releasing more than 30 albums and in 1964 even knocking The Beatles off the top spot in the charts with his hit rendition of “Everybody Loves Somebody Sometimes.” He started his acting character as one half of the comedy duo “Martin and Lewis” with Jerry Lewis but after 10 years he cut ties and decided to go at it alone. Martin subsequently starred in more than 40 movies from Westerns with John Wayne to Oceans 11 featuring Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. who along with Martin were also members of the A-list group known as the Rat Pack. Dean went on to host his very own TV show The Dean Martin Show which earned him a Golden Globe Award(R). But 50 years in the limelight took its toll on this popular entertainer. He chain smoked his whole life and was a drinking man even using alcohol as a prop and part of his stage persona. During the last eight years of his life his alcohol intake spiraled out of control and he also became dependent on opioid painkillers. He died at the age 78 of respiratory arrest. As a lifelong smoker he developed emphysema and later lung cancer but renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter doesn’t think this is the whole story. He needs to delve deep into Martin’s records to discover whether there was in fact something else going on in his body that contributed to his eventual demise. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Stan Lee: Life, Death & Money Premieres on Saturday, June 26 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. At 95 years old Stan Lee was a comic book legend but despite being touted as a creative genius whose original characters helped launch the multi-billion dollar Marvel movie franchise Lee was no mastermind when it came to money. In fact Lee consistently made ill-advised business decisions that would cost him. While there were failed business ventures and crooked business partners who entered his path one of the worst moneymaking decisions Lee ever made was when he traded up possible future movie profits for a one-time payout from Marvel. This meant that when the Spiderman and Iron Man movies became box-office hits and made billions of dollars Lee didn’t get a dime. Despite his financial missteps Lee led a full life well into his 90s working on new characters and doing his famous cameos in more than 60 blockbusters. But in the year prior to his death the late icon’s life would play out like a plot in one of his comic books. As soon as his wife Joan of 70 years dies a man named Keya Morgan swoops in to manage his career and finances. Friends accuse Morgan of isolating the elderly star and reports suggest that he had embezzled millions of dollars from Lee’s assets. The plot thickens after Lee dies and Morgan is on the run from the law while Lee’s only child was on a warpath to recover the money she claims was stolen from her father’s $50 million estate. Life, Death & Money is produced by Buck Productions.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Roger Moore” Premieres on Sunday, June 27 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. Sir Roger Moore died of liver cancer in 2017 at the age of 89 years old. The famously modest and unassuming British actor had been many people’s favorite James Bond. Where Sean Connery had played Bond straight Moore played him for laughs teasing the joke at the role’s heart that James Bond was a “secret” agent so familiar that everybody knows his favorite drink. For Moore Bond was a parody or he was nothing. But his swashbuckling and smooth Bond had belied his real life of serious health problems. Moore was not as robust as the movie image of indestructibility suggested. Moore’s life story read like a medical textbook with major ailments at every turn starting with near terminal double-pneumonia at the age of five. The son of a south London policeman Moore had been forced to reinvent himself at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art after being told that his cockney accent wouldn’t cut it in showbiz. This coupled with his father’s advice to remember that success might be short lived fostered in him a sense of life’s precariousness. Now renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter analyzes the details of this fascinating case to unearth the truth behind Moore’s death. He had suffered years of ill health and fought three different types of cancer but had somehow made it to the age of 89. Maybe there had been more Bond in Moore than he had let on. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “Grace Kelly” Premieres on Sunday, June 27 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. On September 13, 1982 Grace Kelly, Princess Grace of Monaco, drove her old Rover 3500 car off the edge of a mountain road above the famous principality. She died in a hospital the following day at just 52 years old. The crash brought to an end a life lived almost entirely in the public eye first as the iconic star of some of Hollywood’s best loved movies and then as the wife of Prince Rainier of Monaco who was ruler of the tiny Mediterranean enclave. In the wake of Kelly’s death it proved hard to get at the truth of what had actually happened. A police investigation encountered obstacles and the Palace appeared to close ranks. It was said that Kelly had suffered a stroke at the wheel. With her family history of high blood pressure which was a health condition not thoroughly understood at the time questions swirled about whether this played a role in her death. But what is the truth of Kelly’s final hours? Conspiracy theories multiplied in the vacuum left by the Palace’s silence but now renowned forensic pathologist and medical examiner Dr. Michael Hunter analyzes the details of this compelling case to discover the answer. Autopsy: The Last Hours of… is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Autopsy: The Last Hours of… examines the health battles Franklin fought throughout her career from kicking smoking and drinking habits to controlling her diet as well as her long battle with a rare form of pancreatic cancer. In Story of Her Songs see the powerful stories behind three songs that made Franklin the Queen of Soul from her defiant anthem “Respect” to global gospel smash “I Say a Little Prayer” and her incredible 1980s comeback “Sisters are Doin’ it for Themselves”. In Franklin’s monumental career she’d built an estate worth an estimated $80 million. Life, Death & Money explores the story after Franklin’s death when a shocking discovery was made regarding her estate. It was revealed that Franklin had three handwritten wills but they contradicted each other and sparked a massive legal quagmire that threatened to tear her family apart. Two additional new stories of Life, Death & Money unpack the messy estate battles that ensued after sensational vocalist Chris Cornell and innovative comedian Redd Foxx died with both artists leaving behind intellectual property potentially worth millions of dollars but with questions about who would manage it.

May premieres include the return of original documentary series Breaking the Band about The Who and Heart as the two bands share similar stories of strained partnerships, clashing artistic visions and tragic battles with drugs but in the case of Heart the intra-band partnerships were real romantic relationships that led to emotional meltdowns and lifelong feuds. In their own words Heart co-founding members Roger Fisher and Steve Fossen along with manager Michael Fisher tell the band’s incredible journey through several decades of hits, reinventions, fallouts and the real story behind that infamous on-stage guitar smashing incident that shook the band to its core.

Freddie Mercury successfully transformed himself from a shy and stifled boy into a powerful performer by reimaging himself throughout his life by living as a cast of illustrious characters he created. For June the couple’s conflicts added to the untold amounts of stress already experienced by her body after a lifetime of touring and a new Autopsy: The Last Hours of… “June Carter Cash” examines the heart complications that contributed to her passing. The physical and mental toll of performing on the road is viciously compounded when hard drugs and heavy drinking are involved. The downfall of the original Heart left Ann and Nancy free to take the band into the cutthroat world of mainstream rock super stardom where they would reinvent themselves with different band members leading to their 1980s power ballads including the chart topping “Alone”. It’s said time heals all wounds but in the case of a broken Heart the bitterness of the breakup would last decades even as the original band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame they would only perform one song together and hear from the Fisher brothers how even a simple group photo was an insurmountable feat. Warren Jeffs: Cult of Personality Premieres Friday, March 5 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. At the border of Utah and Arizona a remote theocratic community has been thriving for decades. They live in full obedience to a spiritual leader whom they believe is ordained by God. His name is Warren Jeffs and he is the president and prophet of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints. On a quiet summer night Flora Jessop is on a dangerous mission: to rescue two teenage girls who are trying to flee the church that she escaped years before. Having its stronghold in the twin towns of Hildale Utah and Colorado City Arizona the Fundamentalists are a splinter group from the Mormon Church who strive to preserve the polygamist practices long abandoned by the original movement. Its members live under strict religious rules dictated by polygamist prophet Jeffs who is a manipulative and tyrannical leader ruling over every aspect of members’ lives including their properties, their work and who they can marry which includes teenage and child brides that he even takes for himself. Disobeying the will of Jeffs was akin to disobeying a direct commandment of God and punishment was harsh. Jeffs was eventually arrested in 2006 and sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years for the sexual abuse of minors. What kind of person can gain and hold this absolute power over thousands of people? This is the story of Jeffs told by cult experts, researchers, award-winning journalists along with former church members Jessop and Brielle Decker who recalls her experience as the 65th wife to Jeffs. Cult of Personality is produced by KM+BM Media.

The Real Hunt for Red October Premieres Saturday, March 6 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. The 1990 American smash hit movie The Hunt for Red October starring Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin and Sam Neill tells the story of a rogue Soviet nuclear submarine attempting to defect to the U.S. while being hunted by both the American and Soviet Navies. Based on the novel by Tom Clancy it reveals the technology, drama and character of an underwater Cold War battle but what few realize is Clancy’s book and the movie were inspired by a classified nuclear submarine confrontation that some believe changed the course of world history. Now the extraordinary events are revealed in The Real Hunt for Red October including the mysterious whereabouts of a sunken Soviet nuclear submarine and its connection to a CIA operation involving eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes so grand in its scale and execution that some say it rivaled the moon landing. The documentary also explores the curious story of Clancy who may not have simply been a Maryland insurance salesman with a knack for dreaming up military thrillers. Instead there is convincing evidence that he was a CIA and Navy Intelligence asset who was carefully fed classified materials that portrayed the U.S. Navy as so advanced it provoked the Soviets into a military spending spree that eventually bankrupted them. It was this economic collapse that helped end the Cold War. Sharing their experiences with the movie and its extraordinary source material are Sam Neill, Tom Clancy III, former U.S. Secretary of the Navy John Lehman, former U.S. Navy Special Projects Office Chief Scientist Dr. John Craven, former Soviet Navy Admiral V.N. Ponikarovsky and nuclear submarine engineer and author Kenneth Sewell. The Real Hunt for Red October is produced by Muse Entertainment Enterprises.

Told by the band themselves including their lead singer Dee Snider who is also the voice of Breaking the Band this is a cautionary tale of how ego, overexposure and intra-band tension would rip the group apart. Snider and Twisted Sister bandmates guitarist Eddie Ojeda, guitarist and band founder Jay Jay French as well as the band’s co-manager Joe Gerber all reveal the band’s struggles and triumphs from not being able to get a record deal to a make-or-break gig overseas, the album that brought harmony within the band and the infamous day-long photoshoot that sent ugly fractures deep within the group. Thanks to their spectacular arena gigs and more than 40 million album sales they have become one of the world’s most successful and enduring rock bands. Their off-stage excess and partying along with their female following were unmatched. But fame and fortune cost them dearly and they paid big time. By the 1990s serious cracks began to appear. Festering jealousies and power struggles, worsening addictions, backstage fist fights and ultimately burnout from constant touring and partying were amongst the trials they faced. But the eventual push that sent Poison out of the spotlight didn’t come from within the band so what really happened? Poison: Breaking the Band is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.

Rounding out January premieres is the return of original series World’s Most Evil Killers with the unsettling stories of infamous murderers “The Vampire of Sacramento” and the “Killer Cabbie” among others.

“We’re thrilled to welcome back Geraldo Rivera whose deep reporting experience makes him the perfect storyteller for the heartrending stories of celebrities beset by tragedy,” said Steve Cheskin, SVP of Programming at REELZ. “Adding to the network’s strong lineup of music themed originals our January premieres about Eric Clapton, Sting and The Police, Axl Rose and Aerosmith crank up the action with the wild real stories of the legendary rockers.”

On Saturday, January 23 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT it’s Death by Manson: Murder in the Family Special about director Roman Polanski who endured murder in his family more than once after his mother was killed in a Nazi concentration camp and his wife actress Sharon Tate and their unborn baby were murdered by Charles Manson followers. The Preppy Killer: My Friend the Murderer Premieres Saturday, January 2 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. Robert Chambers seemingly had it all from his movie star looks and athletic build to prep school background and a social life at the core of New York City’s wild 1980s nightlife. But on the morning of August 26, 1986 he was a murderer and stood in silence watching investigators comb over the scene of his crime as the partially clothed body of 18-year-old Jennifer Levin is discovered on the Upper East Side of Manhattan’s Central Park. The subsequent investigation exposed lurid tales of his life filled with sex, crime and exclusive nightclubs details which press used to fan the flames of the scandal and shed light on his troublesome lifestyle. When the 19-year-old Chambers becomes the chief suspect he claims Levin wanted “rough sex” and blames her for her own death. The sensational 1986 tabloid story of affluent teens from New York City’s private prep schools becomes known as the “preppie murder.” Sharing her experience of being a close friend to Chambers is Margo Manhattan who witnessed the start and escalation of his wayward path from stealing electronics, clothes and cars along with heavy drug use and binge drinking but even his destructive behavior could not hint at how dangerous and dark Chambers would become. As one of the first to examine the crime scene former NYPD detective Mike Sheehan shares his experience with the case along with former prosecutor Thomas Kendris who details the shocking defense used by the Chambers legal team. The Preppy Killer: My Friend the Murderer is produced by AMS Pictures.

Affluenza Teen: The Jailhouse Sessions Premieres Saturday, January 2 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT. Ethan Couch is the privileged Texas teen who became infamous for killing four people in a drunk driving accident in 2013. Instead of jail the 16-year-old Couch only received probation after his attorneys used a controversial defense arguing he suffered from ‘affluenza’ a condition in which they claim he was unable to discern right from wrong due to his privileged upbringing. The media scorn and public outrage only intensified after a leaked video appeared to show Couch violating his probation drinking at a party. The move landed him in more legal trouble and led to him fleeing the country making him an international fugitive before authorities caught up with him in Mexico. Youth Pastor Brian Jennings was one of the victims killed in the crash that left his best friend Timothy Williams heartbroken. Williams would make a bold move to meet with Couch in jail and wound up visiting him a total of 93 times over a nearly two year period to discuss the case, lessons learned and forgiveness. Sharing his experience as an attorney who represented Couch victims Greg Coontz discusses the case while Fort Worth Star Telegram reporter Bud Kennedy and D Magazine writer Michael J. Mooney reflect on the uproarious public response after it became known Couch wouldn’t serve a day behind bars for causing the crash. Affluenza Teen: The Jailhouse Sessions is produced by AMS Pictures.

Sting & The Police: Story of Their Songs Premieres Sunday, January 3 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. See the fascinating stories behind the three songs that made Sting and The Police global superstars with insight from the producers, back-up singers, photographers, journalists and biographers who watched it happen. At first the three musical maestros Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland struggled to convince audiences of their authenticity before their single “Roxanne” became a huge musical breakthrough. From there The Police’s massive hit “Every Breath You Take” with its dark themes of surveillance, obsession and stalking inspired by the breakdown of Sting’s marriage and took the band to staggering new levels of popularity. The song’s producer Hugh Padgham describes how the recording session was set against a backdrop of infighting and professional jealousy among the band. Upon its release the song becomes an instant classic and turned the bandmates into international stars. But just at the peak of their powers tensions within the band reach a breaking point and Sting shocks the world by going solo setting out to prove that with creative freedom he can be just as successful. He teams up with Grammy Award(R) winning producer Neil Dorfsman and together they fuse reggae and jazz for hit single “Englishman in New York” and its international success secures Sting’s prowess as a remarkable solo artists. Relive the moments that made The Police an unforgettable band and helped keep Sting as a solo artist at the top for more than 40 years. Sting & The Police: Story of Their Songs is produced by ViacomCBS International Studios UK.

Eric Clapton: Story of His Songs Premieres Sunday, January 3 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. Explore the three songs that showcase the musical genius of Eric Clapton. Hear from Clapton’s touring band members, session musicians and producers who were in studio during the recording sessions along with the photographers, journalists and industry experts who witnessed it all. In his 1977 hit “Cocaine” Clapton confronted his addiction to the drug head-on while providing a stark warning about its dangers. Illuminating the depths of that addition is touring bandmate Marcella Detroit who recalls one particularly hedonistic tour with Clapton that was fraught with excess and overindulgence. The 1990s saw Clapton dealing with unimaginable tragedy after a horrific accident resulted in the sudden loss of his four year old son. Seeking healing and comfort through the power of music he pens the tender tribute “Tears in Heaven”. Back-up singer Tessa Niles and renowned bassist Nathan East share their intimate memories of helping Clapton work through his grief culminating in Unplugged which became one of the best-selling live albums of all time. Confronting his troubled childhood the song “My Father’s Eyes” reveals the sad truth behind Clapton’s own relationship with his father and the feeling of looking into his son’s eyes and seeing his father’s eyes. Acclaimed producer Simon Climie reveals his complete reimagining and radical reshaping of the track securing Clapton yet another Grammy Award(R) win. Reliving the key moments that made the songs see Clapton go from cult blues hero to becoming one of most influential and celebrated guitarists and songwriters of all time. Eric Clapton: Story of His Songs is produced by ViacomCBS International Studios UK.

One year after Bakley’s murder Blake is arrested. But the evidence is flimsy and circumstantial. On the night of Bakley’s death Blake was a well-loved entertainer, a regular on the talk show circuit and Emmy Award(R) winner but that reputation is suddenly shattered. Did Blake hire a hitman to kill Bakley as prosecutors alleged? Was she as some claimed desperate to a part of the glamorous part of Hollywood no matter the cost? Or was she simply in the wrong place at the wrong time vulnerable late at night in a parking lot? Geraldo Rivera’s Murder in the Family is produced by Flying Scoop M&E.

Aerosmith: Breaking the Band Premieres Sunday, January 31 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT. With more than 150 million records sold in a career spanning a staggering 50 years Aerosmith has truly earned its title as one of the greatest rock bands ever. Formed in 1970 the “Bad Boys from Boston” as they were known soon became notorious for their raucous live performances and wild off-stage antics. They built their reputation with a blues infused hard-rock take on their 1960s heroes The Rolling Stones. The early success of Aerosmith was built around the talents of rock idol frontman Steven Tyler and guitar legend Joe Perry whose love-hate relationship and notorious drug abuse led to their nickname of the toxic twins. The band’s collective vices would end in disaster and halt their first era when in 1979 Perry walked away from the band. Both Perry and the remaining members of Aerosmith spent years in their own figurative wildernesses, drug addicted and spending money they didn’t have and it appeared as though promising careers had been cut short. But in a remarkable and unprecedented turn around the band reunited in 1984 staging one of the most unlikely comebacks in music history. Indeed the second iteration of Aerosmith rose to even greater heights in the 1980s and 1990s as the band captured the spirit of the MTV generation and moved beyond America to worldwide superstardom. In this special two-hour Breaking the Band see the inside story of Aerosmith as told by those who were there including a rare interview with the man behind their 1980s resurrection in former manager Tim Collins whose tenure ended in bitter acrimony. This is the remarkable story of how the band survived 50 years of every form of stereotypical rock band excess. Aerosmith: Breaking the Band is produced by Potato, part of ITV Studios.
