OXYGEN’S “911 CRISIS CENTER” REVEALS THE FAST-PACED INNER WORKINGS OF AN EMERGENCY CALL CENTER

OXYGEN’S “911 CRISIS CENTER” REVEALS THE FAST-PACED INNER WORKINGS OF AN EMERGENCY CALL CENTER AND THE UNSUNG HEROES EXPERTLY HANDLING REAL, HIGH-STAKES DISTRESS CALLS ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 6 AT 9:00PM ET/PT

The New Series Gives Viewers a Front Row Seat to the High-Intensity Environment Dispatchers Thrive In During Emergencies
NEW YORK, NY – October 19, 2021 – Oxygen, the home for high quality true crime programming, drops viewers in the middle of the action at a dynamic Chagrin Valley area emergency call center in Ohio. At the center, the responders’ calm demeanor, quick thinking and ability to draw out essential information from callers in the midst of extreme situations is often the difference between life and death. From gut-wrenching to heartwarming, these very first responders hear it all over the course of a 12-hour shift. The all new series “911 Crisis Center” premieres Saturday, November 6 at 9:00pm ET/PT.

Team members’ experience varies from those who are 20-year veterans to those who are just starting out. However, all dispatchers are primed and ready to respond to a wide array of panic-stricken callers. Hearing callers terrorized by shots fired, angered over stolen cars, tearfully pleading during life-threatening medical emergencies and anxiety ridden over lost children makes working efficiently critical. The dispatchers work to swiftly extract needed intel while calming the callers, providing them with detailed, life-saving instruction and relaying all pertinent details to law enforcement on the ground and en route.

“911 Crisis Center” also examines the friendships between the dedicated professionals. The bond this tight-knit group has formed goes deep. They support each other through challenging calls and lift each other up when they’re experiencing tough times personally. However, not every moment of a shift is rife with traumatic calls. The dispatchers celebrate birthdays, share homemade treats, and crack inside jokes that lighten the mood. They also try to heed the ever present warning to never, ever jinx a shift by saying things seem “quiet” at the call center.

From Warner Brothers Unscripted Television, “911 Crisis Center” is produced by Shed Media in association with Green Lakes Productions with Dan Peirson, Lisa Shannon and Adam Kassen serve as executive producers.

In this two-hour special, Kara Robinson Chamberlain recounts in vivid detail being taken at gun point from a friend’s front yard. Forced into in a cramped, dark storage container in her captor’s car, Kara instantly knew her life was in grave danger. In a moment she describes as a divine intervention, the 15-year-old realized she had to be her own victor and take her life back; she had to escape! Kara suspects the adrenaline coursing through her body allowed her to remember countless details about her captor and her surroundings; information she hoped would eventually help identify her abductor when she escaped. Kara meticulously filed away information: from the serial number inside the dark container, to specific items inside her captor’s apartment – including caged animals, kitchen magnets and even strands of long, red hair in a hairbrush. After a harrowing 18-hours, Kara engineered her own incredible escape and led authorities back to the apartment of her captor. There, they would find evidence linking Kara’s captor to a series of crimes far darker and more deadly than anyone ever imagined. In the following days, Kara would learn she escaped from serial killer, Richard Marc Evonitz. Now a fierce advocate for survivors and an educator for those who work with them, Kara unveils details about her life as a vivacious teen, the kidnapping, the man who abducted her and she moved forward after her escape. The special features exclusive interviews with Kara’s parents, who recount the terrifying hours they spent fearing they would never see their daughter again, the high school boyfriend who supported Kara after her horrifying experience and law enforcement who were significantly aided in their search for Evonitz based on detailed information Kara provided after her daring escape.

“Escaping Captivity: The Kara Robinson Story,” is produced by Marwar Junction Productions and Entertainment One with Elizabeth Smart, Kara Robinson Chamberlain, Allison Berkley, Joseph Freed, Tara Long, Geno McDermott and Carolyn Blackstone Day serving as executive producers.
