MotorTrend announced the addition of Bogi Lateiner, an ASE master certified technician and host of ALL GIRLS GARAGE, to the GARAGE SQUAD team. Bogi joins as co-host alongside National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) driver Bruno Massel and lead mechanic Joe Zolper who are now in their 8th season as co-hosts of the series. Bogi has hosted the popular MotorTrend series ALL GIRLS GARAGE since it launched in 2012. As a young woman Bogi pursued automotive repair as a career, becoming an ASE master certified technician and custom car builder. Her passion for empowering women through auto repair led her to found Girl Gang Garage, a unique auto shop whose purpose is to encourage and champion the entry and advancement of women within the automotive and skilled trade industries.

A spirited discussion about stance and paint leads The Plastic Cup Boyz to visit the Peterson Museum in Los Angeles to see the finest examples of color, chrome and other details. Spank falls in love with a Lilac paint job and wants it for his Chevelle. A trip to the iconic Mr. Cartoon’s Clubhouse gives the Boyz a lesson on what it means to have a genuinely respected car club and create a long-lasting and iconic brand in the car club community.

A visit to The Dockweiler VW Bug show gives Joey some ideas for his Bug resto/mod and Kevin another example of how a car club operates. Kevin arranges for the Boyz to visit the Irwindale Drift Track to learn the extreme use of brakes and suspension. Harry, John and Joey take a heart stopping trip around the track. Lucky and Joey visit Powerhaus VW to talk about the specific engine, brake, and suspension choices for his bug. After watching auction footage in the Clubhouse, the Boyz decide to take a trip to Arizona to attend the celebrated Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction.

The Plastic Cup Boyz make their first trip to a live automotive auction at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale where they get a taste of high-end cars. They learn the different ways people enter the build aspect of the car resto/mod business and realize the money that is made – and lost – when they experience their first auction. Kevin brings home a dandy custom 1959 Corvette he names “Mint Condition”. After the auction The Plastic Cup Boyz walk away with an appreciation for the lack of diversity in the car world and how important their presence might be in welcoming others. Kevin shares a personal story about his origins and what it means to kick down the doors at Barrett-Jackson and make a statement.

Kevin is unhappy with the car club’s progress. Convening at the Clubhouse, the Boyz realize that they work better together and set off to achieve everything necessary for their official Car Club Launch. At Timeless Kustoms Kevin sees his resto/mods in various states of builds, and Harry and John get a taste of working at the highest resto/mod level. Kevin expresses his own desires for the Club to one day “own the process”, building at the same level but under their own shop and shingle of the Car Club.

With car upgrades finished, the guys arrive at Boss’s social media location for an iconic photoshoot that will help launch them into the car world. Wearing their new car club jackets, the debate starts as to who will be president. Kevin realizes that the best way for them to move forward is to continue to work together – they don’t need a president! At the clubhouse, the Boyz are warmly received by those who have influenced their journey to learn about cars and car culture. With their cars proudly placed on the grass for all to see, the guys share their knowledge and they impress. Kevin surprises everyone with a new goal for the club as he unveils a rusted-out Camaro and proposes they do a ground-up build together!

Is it as good as the original show? Yeah, I actually think it is. Is it better? I think that’s up to the viewer to decide,” said Corddry.

“Top Gear is the dream job and I’ll admit to feeling the pressure. This is the show, after all. But it’s been so much fun to work on. Dax and Rob are genuinely hilarious people, we got some of the coolest and some of the crappiest cars in America to drive the wheels off of. Literally did so in some cases. It’s the best, most fun sort of chaos and I can’t wait for people to see it,” said Bovingdon.

In the season one premiere Friday, January 29, 2021, on the MotorTrend App, Dax, Rob, and Jethro test the world of supercars by choosing vehicles to drive that perfectly reflect their personality. Dax, a Detroit native, chooses the 2020 Shelby GT 500 while Rob, a Porsche enthusiast, selects the 2020 Porsche GT3, and Jethro, the veteran supercar driver in the group, handpicks the 2020 McLaren GT. Three very different vehicles for three very different drivers who seek to find out who is fastest among them. Also, Dax and Jethro try teaching Rob how to drift and Dax heads to the airport for a fitting send off to the Lamborghini Huracan.

In Part one, “14,115 Feet Up,” of PIKES PEAK: ON THE EDGE, six drivers – some who are amateurs seeking glory and some who are pros seeking redemption – prepare for America’s ultimate racing challenge. Veteran driver Dai Yoshihara hopes his team can get his Toyota 86 to perform while former powerboat racer Chris Becker hopes he’s prepared enough to stay out of the trees this year. All have their eyes on the summit of Pikes Peak, 14,115 feet into the sky.

Part two, “You Don’t Spin at Pikes Peak,” starts with a challenging 3:00 A.M. practice session where multiple cars crash and some drivers struggle with cars that continue to break down. Who will survive to race day? In Part three, “The Mountain Decides,” each driver gets just one shot to make it up the mountain, but not all will reach the summit. One driver surprises himself by destroying a record while another driver comes up just short.
