LOS ANGELES – The Fall Classic returns with FOX Sports taking center stage as it broadcasts its 24th World Series. The action begins Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 8:00 PM ET on FOX and FOX Deportes as the Atlanta Braves take on the Houston Astros. Emmy Award winner Joe Buck heads to the booth for the 22nd consecutive time and 24th overall, tying him with Tim McCarver for the most World Series network television appearances of all-time.

Buck is joined by Hall-of-Famer, World Series champ and fellow Emmy winner John Smoltz, as Emmy Award-winning writers Ken Rosenthal and Tom Verducci report from the field.

“I worked with Tim for 18 years,” Buck said. “In 1996 he gave me instant credibility at 27 years old on a national stage when I was not yet deserving of it. I became a first-time dad that same year. I truly became a man both on and off the air during my time with him and I am forever indebted for his guidance during that time on both counts. We remain dear friends to this day, and not a game goes by in October that I don’t think of him.”

Host Kevin Burkhardt anchors the FOX Sports on-site studio pregame and postgame desk for the Emmy Award-winning team that includes Hall of Famer Frank Thomas and World Series champions Alex Rodriguez and David Ortiz, who was named World Series MVP in 2013.

The entire World Series is available in 4K HDR through the FOX NOW and FOX Sports apps to subscribers of most pay TV providers. FOX Sports 4K also is available from select partners including Xfinity, DIRECTV, DISH, Verizon FiOS, Optimum, Cox Contour TV, Fubo TV, YouTube TV, and others (check local listings).

FOX SPORTS ADDS NFL QUARTERBACK MARK SANCHEZ TO ITS ELITE NFL GAME TALENT ROSTER

Sanchez Also to Appear Across FS1 Daily Studio Shows

LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports expands its elite NFL talent roster by signing former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez as a game analyst. Sanchez will also make appearances across FS1’s daily studio shows. Today’s announcement was made by Brad Zager, Executive Producer and Executive Vice President, Head of Production and Operations, FOX Sports.

The 10-year NFL veteran, who led the New York Jets to consecutive AFC Championship Games in his first two pro seasons, embarks on his first season as an NFL game analyst this fall.

“We are thrilled to add Mark Sanchez to the FOX NFL family,” Zager said. “Recently retired, he offers invaluable fresh-off-the-field perspective, and through his television work, he has proven himself an insightful analyst and true student of the game.”

Drafted by the Jets in 2009 as the fifth overall pick, Sanchez posted an impressive rookie season, being named to the 2009 NFL All-Rookie Team and becoming the first rookie quarterback in league history to win in his first three starts and only the second to win his first two playoff games. In his second season, Sanchez became only the second quarterback ever to reach the conference championship in his first two years. Additionally, he set the Jets franchise record for most postseason victories by a quarterback with four, longest touchdown pass in a playoff game (80; 2009) and most game-winning drives in a single season (six; 2010).

“I am thrilled to not only be making the move to FOX Sports but also to the game analyst role,” Sanchez said. “This is something I have worked toward since the day I retired, and short of playing, there’s nothing I have been more excited for in my entire career. I can’t wait to get this season started.”

After suffering a season-ending injury in the preseason of 2013, Sanchez went on to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and Washington Football Team before retiring in 2019. Upon announcing his retirement, Sanchez immediately transitioned from the gridiron to one of ABC’s prized studio roles alongside Kevin Negandhi and now-FOX NFL analyst Jonathan Vilma. While with ABC/ESPN for two years, Sanchez also contributed to “College Football Live,” Get Up” and “SportsCenter.”

In college, Sanchez enjoyed a stellar career as quarterback at USC from 2005-2008, leading the Trojans to a Rose Bowl win his junior year, capping an outstanding 13-victory season that placed USC third in the final AP Top 25 poll. In the New Year’s Day game, he threw for 413 yards and completed four touchdowns en route to earning Rose Bowl Offensive MVP honors in his final game. Sanchez’s 413 passing yards ranked second in Rose Bowl history and fourth in USC history. He finished the season with 3,207 yards passing and 34 touchdowns, second-most in school history, and 10 interceptions. In 2008, he was named First Team All-Pac-10.

FOX Sports’ complete NFL broadcast team, including broadcast pairings, for the 2021-22 season will be announced at a later date. For more information, please visit FOX Sports Press Pass.

THE UNITED STATES FOOTBALL LEAGUE RETURNS IN 2022

FOX Sports to Serve as Official Broadcast Partner for the USFL

Los Angeles – Today, the United States Football League (USFL) announced that the league will officially return in the spring of 2022.

Initially launched in 1983, the USFL originally was an upstart spring football league consisting of 12 teams which featured some of the most exciting and recognizable young football stars in the country. When relaunched next year, the new USFL retains rights to key original team names.

The league will target a minimum of eight teams and deliver high-quality, innovative professional football to fans throughout the spring season.

“I’m extremely passionate about football and the opportunity to work with FOX Sports and to bring back the USFL in 2022 was an endeavor worth pursuing,” said Brian Woods, co-founder of the new USFL and founder and CEO of The Spring League (TSL). “We look forward to providing players a new opportunity to compete in a professional football league and giving fans everywhere the best football viewing product possible during what is typically a period devoid of professional football.”

FOX Sports will serve as the official broadcast partner for the USFL. FOX Sports also owns a minority equity stake in the company that owns the USFL.

“The relaunch of the USFL is a landmark day for football fans and FOX Sports,” said Eric Shanks, CEO and Executive Producer, FOX Sports. “Football is in our DNA and the return of this innovative and iconic league is a fantastic addition to our robust slate of football programming.”

More information on the USFL, including cities, teams, head coaches, and game schedules, will be announced at a later date.
