CRACKLE PREMIERES DRAMATIC LOVE STORY “BEL CANTO” EXCLUSIVELY FOR FREE ON MAY 1

Based on Ann Patchett’s best-selling novel, the drama about a hostage crisis stars Oscar winner Julianne Moore and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe with vocals from opera legend Renée Fleming

NEW YORK, N.Y., April 20, 2021 – Crackle Plus, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, Inc. (Nasdaq: CSSE) company and one of the largest operators of streaming advertising-supported video-on-demand (AVOD) networks, announced today that mystery thriller Bel Canto will be exclusively available for free on Crackle beginning Saturday, May 1.

Co-written and directed by Paul Weitz (Grandma, Admission, About a Boy), the film follows a famous soprano (Moore) who travels to South America to give a private concert at a party for a wealthy Japanese industrialist (Watanabe). Just as the gathering of diplomats and politicians convenes, the mansion is taken over by a guerrilla rebel group demanding the release of their imprisoned comrades.

While they are confined to the house, the hostages and their captors, who speak different languages, are forced to find ways to communicate. Music, especially the beautiful arias performed by Moore’s character, sparks a shared sense of camaraderie and even love, uniting the disparate housemates as they form unexpected bonds, overcome their differences, and discover their shared humanity. Opera star Renée Fleming contributes vocals to the film.

“Bel Canto is a surprisingly romantic hostage thriller with a superb cast our audience will love,” said Jeff Meier, head of programming for Crackle Plus. “The film shows how music has the power to inspire people to overcome their differences, and we are excited to bring this emotional drama to our fans.”

As one of the only AVODs continually adding original and exclusive programming that uplifts, entertains, and inspires audiences, Crackle adds Bel Canto alongside original and AVOD exclusive titles including Playing With Power: The Nintendo Story, Cagefighter, After the Murder of Albert Lima, Lennox Lewis: The Untold Story, Robert the Bruce, The Clearing, Anything is Possible: The Serge Ibaka Story, Bucket List, and Going From Broke, which recently commenced production for its second season.

Bel Canto is distributed in the U.S. by Screen Media, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, Inc. company and the supplier of exclusive and original content to Crackle Plus.

· 24-year-old Isabel is drowning in student loan debt and needs professional guidance so she can pay off her debt and achieve her goals of buying a home and planning a wedding before she’s 30.

· College sweethearts Enam and Carlin owe over $200k in student loans and credit card bills. Every month they add onto their significant credit card debt to help pay for the medical bills of their 2 year old son who has sickle cell disease, and is in line for a surgery that could be a cure. They’re seeking advice that will allow them to be financially free and give their son a better life.

· Single mom Tina has mounting bills consisting of student loans, a love of shopping, money owed for weight loss surgery and debt she took on during her divorce. She is determined that this is her year to break free, and will do anything to get there.

· New parents Jake and Chelsea struggle with compounding medical debt from several miscarriages. Chelsea lost most of her work as a baker during the pandemic and now, pregnant again, they hope to improve their finances enough to buy a first home before the birth.

· Ryan, a 26-year-old contractor who lives at home, financially supports his mother who is battling stage 3 breast cancer. They owe $30k on their home and are close to foreclosure. Ryan hopes to be a successful entrepreneur one day, but right now just needs to learn how to manage his own finances like a CEO.

· The Donovan, a classically trained concert pianist, has struggled to pay off student loans and credit cards. Now unemployed due the pandemic, he finds himself in an even deeper hole with his monthly expenses far outweighing what he’s able to bring in.

“Going From Broke puts a spotlight on a financial epidemic occurring during the COVID-19 pandemic that has put so many people in financial stress due to unemployment and mounting debt,” said Philippe Guelton, president of Crackle Plus. “These real-time segments will feature raw, emotional footage of the cast as financial experts Dan Rosensweig and Tonya Rapley guide them on the path to financial freedom.”

“The student debt crisis continues to plague our country, threatening disastrous consequences for families and generations to come,” said Dan Rosensweig, CEO of Chegg, Inc. “This issue has always been deeply important to me and, given the devastating impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the job market, it is even more critical that we help young people, who are drowning in debt, find a path to financial freedom. I am looking forward to partnering with Tonya, who brings a wealth of financial knowledge and expertise to the show, as we work with this cast to change the trajectory of their lives.”

“As a financial expert, I’m especially focused on helping people make better money decisions. The emotional toll of debt can be suffocating, making it difficult to make the right choices,” said co-host Tonya Rapley. “I am so excited to be partnering with this team to put my skills to use and help these folks confront their debt, hopefully breaking the cycle.”

Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment Commences Production of Season 2 of Going From Broke

Series Executive Produced by Ashton Kutcher and Hosted by Dan Rosensweig, CEO of Chegg

Season 2 “Real-time” Episodes Will Premiere For Free on Crackle in March With Full Episodes Premiering in May

COS COB, CT – February 16, 2021 – Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment Inc. (Nasdaq: CSSE), one of the largest operators of streaming advertising-supported video-on-demand (AVOD) networks, today announced that production has begun on Season 2 of its original series Going From Broke. The series is executive produced by Ashton Kutcher and hosted by Chegg CEO Dan Rosensweig. Innovative “real-time” episodes will begin premiering for free on Crackle in March.

Going From Broke is an unscripted series that spotlights a financial epidemic of huge proportions. Over 44 million Americans are saddled with student debt totaling over $1.7 trillion dollars. Making matters worse in Season 2, are the compounding issues of the last 12 months: COVID-19, record unemployment, and a country on the emotional and financial brink. This series aims to empower people to overcome their crippling financial struggles and become CEO of their own lives.

Season 2 features an updated format that follows six new cast members from around the country. During the six-week production, Crackle will conduct an innovative experiment by shooting and airing new episodes in “real time” while anchoring a larger conversation using social media platforms. The “real-time” episodes will document the casts’ emotional and financial makeovers while audiences ride along. Meanwhile, Mr. Rosensweig, Mr. Kutcher, Chegg, and Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment will engage in a multi-platform conversation about issues with debt, especially during the financial turmoil created by the pandemic.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the dire financial situation that so many young people already found themselves in,” said Mr. Rosensweig, host & CEO of Chegg, Inc. “In Season 2, the stakes are higher; people are struggling with unemployment, mounting debt, and potential physical and mental health issues. We have the opportunity to provide a lifeline and help them get back on track, working with them in real-time to get them on the path to financial freedom.”

“This awesome production model brings viewers inside the transformation process. Going From Broke is the first makeover show that invites the audience to engage with the cast, financial experts and each other across social media while watching the process unfold “live” on Crackle,” said Mr. Kutcher, who executive produced both season one and two of the series.

The “real-time” production culminates with finished episodes in May, ultimately revealing whether each cast member has succeeded in ‘going from broke’.

“We were delighted with the tremendous viewer response to the first season of Going From Broke and are excited to dive even deeper into this important issue with Season 2. We plan to incorporate the particular hardships introduced by the global pandemic and hope we will be offering helpful solutions to any of those struggling with financial burdens,” said William J. Rouhana Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment.

The first season of Going From Broke had a record-breaking launch on the free streaming service Crackle in October of 2019 and won multiple awards including the Webby People’s Voice winner for Reality Series and the OTT.X Impact Award for Most Impactful Series. Season 1 is available for free on Crackle. Season 2 is being produced by Flicker Filmworks.

Charlie’s Angels (2000)

Feature Film

Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu are Charlie’s Angels – a trio of elite private investigators who, with the latest in high-tech gadgets, martial arts techniques and a vast array of disguises, unleash their state of the art skills on land, sea and air. War Room

Filled with heart, humor, and wit, War Room follows a couple, Elizabeth and Tony, who seemingly have it all – great jobs, a beautiful daughter, their dream home. In reality, their marriage has become a war zone and their daughter is collateral damage. As the power of prayer and Elizabeth’s newly energized faith transform her life, will Tony join the fight and become the man he knows he needs to be? Together, their real enemy doesn’t have a prayer.

The Walk

A Soldier’s Story

Feature Film

As WWII draws to a close, Captain Davenport (Howard E. Rollins, Jr.) is assigned to Fort Neal, Louisiana, an all-black army post, to investigate the brutal murder of Sergeant Waters (Adolph Caesar). As the investigation unfolds, it reveals a disturbing glimpse into the victim’s character, which proves to be as important an insight into the mystery as the identity of the killer. A Soldier’s Story transcends race to present a universal tale of the value of dignity over humiliation, of tolerance over prejudice.
