New Series “Otter Dynasty (WT)” Set in Singapore Tells the Urban Wildlife Story

New Series “Otter Dynasty (WT)” Set in Singapore Tells the Urban Wildlife Story of Three Otter Families and Their Clash for Dominance
The series will be available across Discovery platforms next year and is produced by Beach House Pictures for Animal Planet, in association with Love Nature.
[via press release from Animal Planet]
NEW SERIES “OTTER DYNASTY (WT)” SET IN SINGAPORE TELLS THE URBAN WILDLIFE STORY OF THREE OTTER FAMILIES AND THEIR CLASH FOR DOMINANCE

Once declared locally extinct from Singapore in the 1970s, the adorable smooth-coated otter has since made a comeback where an estimated 120 otters now call this exciting city “home.” Since their return from local extinction, multiple otter family clans are scattered across the island and just about every group is determined to reside in the prime otter real estate of Marina Bay. The catch? There’s only enough space in this key location for one dominant “royal” family to have access to the finest food, best shelter, and safest location to raise a family. In this urban wildlife story, audiences will be mesmerized as three urbanized otter clans make it their business to fight for their turn to be on top while continuing to adapt to their concrete jungle. OTTER DYNASTY (WT) will be available across Discovery platforms next year and is produced by Beach House Pictures for Animal Planet, in association with Love Nature (a Blue Ant Media company). Blue Ant International oversees licensing in markets outside of the U.S.

“Otter Dynasty is a rich family drama showcasing distinct, memorable characters through stories of resilience, determination and family rivalries. With real-life stories from the natural world, fueled by status, survival, power grabs and romance, it’s Game of Thrones with otters!” said Amy Introcaso-Davis, Executive Vice President, Development and Production, Factual Programming, Discovery.

OTTER DYNASTY (WT) will follow each otter clan as they learn one important rule – more territory means more challenges. And while they have learned to climb stairs, cross streets, and move up and down ladders to get in and out of vertical canals, they must also maneuver around Singapore’s predatory wildlife including crocodiles and cobras. This is the ultimate clash of the otter clans, and there can only be one ruler.

The OTTER DYNASTY (WT) clans include the ruling Bay City Clan, the 1% otter group who lives the royal life of luxury in Marina Bay among Singapore’s futuristic landscapes; the young, up-and-coming River Rebels clan, who have set their sights set on Marina Bay and enjoy a fun-filled life in a fashionable and trendy neighborhood as they raid fishponds and stop traffic every time they cross the city’s busy roads; and The Wildlings, a young clan living a hard but adventurous life in the Mangrove forest where they tough it out against marauding lizards, floods, and choppy seas. As the battle of the bay heats up, which rival clan will lay claim to the throne?

OTTER DYNASTY (WT) is produced for Discovery by Beach House Pictures in association with Blue Ant Media’s Love Nature. Jocelyn Little and Donovan Chan are executive producers for Beach House Pictures with Jerry Decker is Showrunner and Claire Clements is Series Director. For Discovery, Keith Hoffman is executive producer and Sarah Russell is supervising producer.

ALL-NEW ANIMAL PLANET SERIES “LOUISIANA LAW” PREMIERES SUNDAY MAY 9 AT 9PM ET/PT

-LOUISIANA LAW is the Latest Addition to Animal Planet’s Wildlife Conservation Patrol Programming Franchise Which Includes NORTH WOODS LAW and LONE STAR LAW-

All-new series LOUISIANA LAW follows the men and women of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries as they patrol one of the most geographically diverse states in the U.S., with a jurisdiction that ranges from 200 miles out into the Gulf of Mexico up to the border of Arkansas. With the authority to enforce all fish and wildlife laws in addition to state and federal criminal laws, the wildlife agents of Louisiana are tasked with protecting the natural resources of the state and are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, often patrolling alone and miles from backup. Audiences will travel deep into the woods and bayous with these wildlife agents as they encounter perilous situations that affect wildlife and citizens alike, all in the name of conservation. LOUISIANA LAW premieres exclusively on Animal Planet Sunday, May 9 at 9PM ET/PT.

Nicknamed “Sportsman’s Paradise” because of the state’s rich resources and activities like fishing, hiking, and hunting, Louisiana is home to more than one million alligators, countless crawfish, shrimp, oysters, bobcats, black bear, deer, 160 species of birds, and an abundance of fresh and saltwater fish. With this wealth of species, legal fishing and hunting is a way of life for some residents; to preserve the land and to protect both citizens and wildlife, the wildlife agents patrol Louisiana’s beautiful bayous, massive river deltas, and thick pine forests.

In the premiere episode of LOUISIANA LAW, audiences meet the courageous wildlife agents who patrol this rich, diverse state. Sgt. Scott Dupre and Senior Agent William Carpenter track down and investigate a crab fisherman allegedly stealing hundreds of traps belonging to other fishermen in the southern waters of St. Mary Parish. Sgt. Dupre and Senior Agent William Carpenter rescue an injured eagle on the side of the road, while in Cameron Parish, Cpl. Michael Hebert seizes an illegally caught flounder and donates the fish to a family in need. In Bossier Parish, Sr. Agent Emily Sexton and Cpl. Justin Greer face a tough dilemma when a young hunter’s first deer is brought illegally across state lines by his father. And Cpl. Blaine Wagner and Sr. Agent Austin Landry are on oyster patrol off the southern coast of St. Bernard Parish, where they encounter a Captain that has a full boat of oysters with no proper licenses; the situation escalates when they suspect the captain of driving under the influence.

PUPPY BOWL celebrates adoptable pups in all their cuteness and showcases the incredible shelters and rescues, as well as their staffers, who dedicate their lives to helping animals find their loving homes. In years past, PUPPY BOWL is 16 for 16 with the adoption rate at 100% as all puppies and kittens featured in PUPPY BOWL to date have found their forever homes with loving families. And even though this past year has been different from year’s past, one thing is for certain – there will be a PUPPY BOWL – and discovery+ and Animal Planet continue this annual tradition to highlight these special puppy players and kittens so that they can finally find the place they are meant to call ‘home.’

This year, 22 shelters and rescues from nine Northeastern States are enlisted to bring 70 incredible adoptable puppy players out for PUPPY BOWL to sport their TEAM RUFF ‘Tail Mary Tangerine’ and TEAM FLUFF ‘Bark Blue’ bandana colors. What genetic traits are these pups bringing to the game? With the Wisdom Panel™ dog DNA test, we’ll find out what’s beyond those big puppy dog eyes and how each dog’s breed mix might give them an advantage on the field. We’ll see their skills playout in the brand-new GEICO Stadium, where these adoptable players have even more room to rumble and fumble! Fan-favorite elements, including slow motion replays, nose-to-nose action from the famous water bowl cam, and aerial shots of the field from the brand-new TEMPTATIONS™ Sky Box are all back this year, along with epic drone shots of puppy players across the arena that bring audiences as close as possible to all the game-play action. THE HOME DEPOT goal post nets serve as the backdrop to every touchdown and field goal as audiences have a front row seat view through lens of the cameras in the CHEWY end zone pylons.

Joining this year as PUPPY BOWL XVII announcers are ESPN’s Monday Night Football play- by- play announcer Steve Levy and SportsCenter host Sage Steele who will be providing puppy analysis throughout the game! The PUPPY BOWL XVII Pre-Game Show begins at 1PM ET/ 10AM PT where long-time PUPPY BOWL sports correspondents Rodt Weiler, James Hound and Sheena Inu, and field reports Brittany Spaniel and Herman Shepard pump up the crowd with pup insights on the furry matchups before the big game. Sponsored by [ yellow tail ]® wine, the Pre-Game Show will also offer ideas on how to create a PUPPY BOWL “tail”gate party for the perfect viewing experience. The game opens with a special performance of the National Anthem by singing-group and internet sensation, Boys World, before kicking off with the pups of the PEDIGREE® Starting Lineup, who are giving it their all to compete for the one and only BISSELL® MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) award by scoring the most touchdowns. Who will take home the title this year to join the greats of puppies past in the Puppy Bowl MVP Hall of Fame? Tune in to find out this and which lucky pup will also take home the coveted SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. Underdog Award!

Joining the game for the 10th year in a row is America’s favorite “Rufferee,” Dan Schachner, who, after a decade, is ready to call the puppy penalties, ruffs & tumbles, and pawsome touchdowns for a game unlike any other. Award-winning animal advocate and television correspondent Jill Rappaport also returns to introduce the SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. Pup Close and Personal segments that shine a light on some of these adorable athletes and other adoptable puppies across the country, in addition to the special Senior Spotlight stories which showcase that age is just a number with senior dogs who are ultimately puppies at heart.

Additionally, for the first time ever on the sidelines, our TEAM RUFF and TEAM FLUFF players will be cheered on by none other than adoptable puppy cheerleaders who will root and howl for their favorite players. These cheerleading pups will turn up the volume with cuteness overload by shaking their pom poms as the PUPPY BOWL XVII players make their way down the field! Midway through the game, get ready to turn up the beat and put on your dancing shoes for the ARM & HAMMER™ Clump & Seal™ KITTY HALF-TIME SHOW. Audiences will experience the neon dance party they’ve been waiting for all year and rave to the purr-fect beats dropped by senior rescue cat DJ Grand Master Scratch. ANIMAL PLANET’S PIT BULLS & PAROLEES RETURNS FOR AN ALL-NEW SEASON

ANIMAL PLANET’S PIT BULLS & PAROLEES RETURNS FOR AN ALL-NEW SEASON BEGINNING WITH SPECIAL 200TH EPISODE ON JANUARY 2, 2021

– New season moves to 2-hour episodes every Saturday at 9PM ET/PT –

Tia Torres has dedicated her life to New Orleans-based Villalobos Rescue Center, the largest Pit Bull rescue center in the U.S. where she and her family work tirelessly to provide Pit Bulls another chance in life while also offering a fresh start to parolees. Now, after 30 plus years of experiencing the high and lows of animal rescue and breaking down stereotypes of both pit bulls and individuals who have been released from the prison system, Tia her family take a special look back at the extraordinary milestones they have accomplished with a special 200th episode and season premiere of PIT BULLS & PAROLEES. The 2-hour premiere airs Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT, with 2-hour episodes airing every Saturday following the premiere featuring even more

incredible rescue stories in this supersized season.

In the season premiere and special 200th episode, Tia’s children, grandchildren and parolees gather to recall their favorite stories across 200 episodes filled with heartbreak, joy and the memorable rescues that have shaped their lives. We’ll see the early days from season one, when Mariah was still competing in beauty pageants, and the very first dog Tia rescued on the series – a senior pit bull named Walter. Tia and her family also reminisce about the twins meeting Lizzy and M2, the adjustment to living in Louisiana, and of course the most memorable, surprising and heartwarming adoptions from over the years.

This season, we’ll see how Villalobos has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and how Tia and her family have found creative ways to find dogs forever homes – while also giving back to the New Orleans community, in spite of the shutdown. We’ll also witness Tia and Mariah temporarily close their beloved restaurant and boutique amidst the global shutdown, and although a challenging decision, the pair looks ahead to a new beginning to reinvent both businesses and keeps their utmost focus on their rescue efforts.

Throughout the season, audiences will also experience more incredible rescue stories than ever before. We’ll see Tia as she deals with one of her most difficult rescue situations ever, where over 50-hybrid wolf-dogs are left to fend for themselves on a Texas property. Tania and Mariah work with an adopter to find a new dog after he lost his long-time four-legged best friend, Ben, to cancer. Additionally, audiences will witness a fairy-tale ending where Huey, a Villalobos senior canine veteran, finally finds the forever home he deserves.

In addition to watching the show on Animal Planet, viewers can keep up with the latest news on social media by using the hashtag #PitBullsandParolees and follow Animal Planet on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
