Whether it’s the rugged landscapes or heart-stopping animal encounters, New Hampshire provides a never-ending series of unpredictable challenges for its conservation officers. In an all-new season of NORTH WOODS LAW, Animal Planet follows the demanding pursuits of the Conservation Officers as they work relentlessly against the clock on search and rescue missions, tracking down fleeing criminals, preserving and protecting the state’s resources, and enforcing laws on both land and water. The all-new season premieres on Animal Planet Sunday, Oct. 11 at 9PM ET/PT.

In the NORTH WOODS LAW season premiere, a nurse discovers a severed finger near the summit of Mount Monadnock leading Conservation Officer Hannett, New Hampshire State Police and a K9 unit on a harrowing investigation; Officer Towne’s patrol is interrupted by a call from the principal at his son’s school requesting help with the baby snapping turtles hatching all over the playground; and Officer Masucci is caught off guard when a bear hunter makes a surprising confession.

Other stories on NORTH WOODS LAW this season include New Hampshire Fish and Game and the National Guard joining forces to rescue a climber who has fallen fifty feet from the Granite State’s largest cliff face; Lt. Boudreau and a team of biologists working to capture and relocate a moose after it has wandered into downtown Nashua; Officer McKee going on a wild goose chase when the passengers in a fatal accident claim the driver has fled the scene; and the wardens attempting to chase off a black bear that has decided a car is the optimal location for its winter den.

In the premiere episode, Dr. Jeff performs a procedure he’s never attempted – a complicated lung surgery on a beloved dog named Leyla. Dr. Amy treats Sookie, a husky who lost a fight with a porcupine, and paid the price with a snout-full of quills. Audiences also meet Callie and Steve, two abandoned turtles, as Dr. Baier works to turn their health around. And Dr. Jeff saves Ozzy, an 18-year-old dog whose family moved away, but left their senior pet behind.

Other stories this season include Dr. Jeff and the team providing free care to a group of loveable Fainting Goats destined to become therapy animals; becoming a dog’s last hope after he jumps from a moving car on the highway; and coming to the aid of pet owners in a remote jungle village in Panama with a free spay and neuter clinic. Later this season, Dr. Jeff looks back on his 30-year ride as a vet, and the challenging decision to set up a low-cost, high-volume veterinary practice, where no two days are the same, and a sudden emergency can push the team to its limits.

The episode, “Everything for Emma”, pushed Animal Planet into cable’s Top Five in its time period among Women 25-54 (#5) with a .51 rating, and into the Top 10 among Person 25-54 (#10), Persons 18-49 (#8), Persons 18-34 (#8), Women 18-49 (#6) and Women 18-34 (#7).

Part of Animal Planet’s ongoing commitment to make a positive impact in the animal world, Saturday’s episode helped drive the network’s annual donation to Villalobos Rescue Center (VRC) a 501 ( C ) 3 nonprofit, based on the number of viewers who watched. Whisper, a 20-year-old beluga whale at Georgia Aquarium, gave birth to a calf on Sunday, May 17 at Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, currently closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A rare birth, Whisper’s calf weighed 174 pounds and is five feet four inches in length.
