It is not surprising that despite the efforts of her mother Michelle, Janine and her friends Manu and Laura have apparently gone down the path of error. Having last been seen dazed and injured, Janine suddenly vanishes. A resolute single mother, Michelle places little confidence in the unstable local police force. Deciding to pursue her own investigation, she opens door after door of secrets and lies. And the closer she gets to the truth, the clearer she realizes how deeply involved her daughter seems to have been in dealing the drug crystal meth. The entire community responds with complete shock as they face the truth which harbors even more revelations. Uncovering a web of lies and secrets, kept under a tight lid by the whole community, Michelle is increasingly horrified by what she finds out about her daughter, and herself…

Walter Presents: What the Future Holds

Language: Spanish with English Subtitles
Justo Gil, a young and ambitious man, moves to the prosperous and promising city of 1960s Barcelona. He is determined to be successful and as his career begins to take off, his life intersects with Carme Román, a young aspiring actress. They start a passionate love affair that will haunt them for years to come. Justo’s life also collides with Mateo Moreno, a policeman from the dreaded Social Brigade (secret police). A set of unexpected turn of events plunges Justo into a dark network of espionage, making him an informer for the Franco political police.
Looking for their place in the city, Justo, Carme and Mateo mix with greedy businessmen, young, rich revelers of the ‘gauche divine,’ unscrupulous police men, rebellious students or members of the anti-Franco resistance, and inhabitants of a boiling city that is going through an unrepeatable moment.
