A&E UNCOVERS THE TRUE AND UNBELIEVABLE STORIES OF GROWN-UPS SEEKING LEGAL ADOPTION IN THE NEW 10-EPISODE DOCU-SERIES “ADULTS ADOPTING ADULTS” PREMIERING MONDAY, JANUARY 31 AT 10pm ET/PT

New families … come with new problems

December 17, 2021 – NEW YORK – A&E brings viewers into the unfamiliar world of adult adoption in the new docu-series “Adults Adopting Adults,” premiering Monday, January 31 at 10pm ET/PT. The new 10-episode series follows six incredible stories of adults seeking legal adoption for either a sincere desire for a true family experience or perhaps more questionable motives.

The laws regarding adult adoption vary by state, and the legitimate reasons the practice occurs across the United States range from establishing inheritance rights to formalizing established relationships. While some who participate are looking to make sincere familial bonds, others may have more deceptive or even sinister motivations. “Adults Adopting Adults” features some of these jaw-dropping stories – from a woman who wants to leave her mother behind to be adopted by another couple that she found online; to a German prince seeking an adult son to care for him and carry on his title; to a married man who had an inappropriate relationship with a young woman he was previously trying to adopt and is now looking to adopt another adult daughter; and more.

In addition to its linear premiere on A&E, “Adults Adopting Adults” will be available on demand and to stream on the A&E app and aetv.com.

A&E NETWORK TO DEBUT DOCUMENTARY SERIES EVENT “SECRETS OF PLAYBOY” BEGINNING MONDAY, JANUARY 24 AT 9PM ET/PT

10-HOUR SERIES EXAMINES THE PLAYBOY EMPIRE THAT WAS BOTH CULTURALLY GROUNDBREAKING AND A GATEWAY INTO A MUCH DARKER WORLD

New York, NY – December 7, 2021 – A&E Network’s documentary series event “Secrets of Playboy” explores the hidden realities behind the fable and philosophy of the Playboy empire through today’s lens. Four years after Hefner’s death, insiders, colleagues, executives, Playmates and employees from all levels of the brand share the full story of what life within the Playboy world was truly like. Across ten hours, the series delves into the complex world Hugh Hefner created and examines its far-reaching consequences on our culture’s view of power and sexuality. “Secrets of Playboy” premieres Monday, January 24 at 9pm ET/PT on A&E. “Secrets of Playboy” will also be available on demand and to stream on the A&E app and aetv.com.

Directed by Alexandra Dean (This is Paris, Bombshell: the Hedy Lamarr Story), “Secrets of Playboy” unravels the glamourous mythology behind the Playboy empire created over several decades. With the creation of the brand, Hefner defined the sexual revolution and allowed for the freedom of sexual expression. Yet intertwined with the glossy facade of a world that seemingly celebrated women was a more sinister reality that for decades allowed nefarious conduct including sexual assault and drug abuse to flourish, and where prostitution, suicide and even murder lurked in the shadows. The series explores how the Playboy machine was a powerful force that, at its worst, manipulated women in a toxic environment, silencing their voices, pitting them against one another, and opening the door to sexual predators. The series features archival footage and exclusive interviews including former Director of Playmate Promotions Miki Garcia; past girlfriends of Hefner’s including Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and Sondra Theodore; author of “Playground: A Childhood Lost Inside the Playboy Mansion” and Playboy Mansion West resident Jennifer Saginor; Bunny Mother PJ Masten; former Playmates Rebekka Armstrong, Susie Krabacher, Dona Spier, Tylyn John and Cristy Thom; and members of Hefner’s staff and inner circle including executive assistant Lisa Loving Barrett, butler Mitch Rosen, and personal valet Stefan Tetenbaum.

“Secrets of Playboy” is produced by Industrial Media’s The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) for A&E Network. IPC’s Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman, Matt Shanfield, and Erin Gamble serve as executive producers along with Alexandra Dean who is the showrunner and director of the series. The series is co-directed by Arlene Nelson. Elaine Frontain Bryant, Brad Abramson, and Dolores Gavin serve as executive producers for A&E. A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights for “Secrets of Playboy.”

SERIES FEATURES EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWS WITH INSIDERS ON ALL LEVELS OF THE PLAYBOY LADDER INCLUDING MIKI GARCIA, HOLLY MADISON, JENNIFER SAGINOR, AND SONDRA THEODORE

SERIES TO PREMIERE EARLY 2022

Los Angeles, CA – August 17, 2021 – A&E Network will premiere the documentary event “Secrets of Playboy” exploring the hidden truths behind the fable and philosophy of the Playboy empire through a modern-day lens. The series delves into the complex world Hugh Hefner created and examines its far-reaching consequences on our culture’s view of power and sexuality. Unravelling the glamourous mythology created by the brand over several decades, the series features archival footage and exclusive interviews with insiders from all facets of the Playboy world, many sharing their stories for the first time. Interviews include former Director of Playmate Promotions Miki Garcia; past girlfriends of Hefner’s including Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and Sondra Theodore; Hefner’s personal valet Stefan Tetenbaum;Bunny Mother PJ Masten; Playboy Mansion West resident Jennifer Saginor; and members of Hefner’s staff and inner circle, including his personal bodyguard and butler. “Secrets of Playboy” premieres in early 2022 on A&E.

“The fantasy world of Playboy has been shrouded in secrecy for decades and we are proud to lift the veil on these long-hidden stories,” said Elaine Frontain Bryant, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for A&E. “Breaking down barriers and exposing the truth, ‘Secrets of Playboy’ is a masterful example of brave storytelling that takes an unflinching look at the personal affects of Hugh Hefner’s empire, while also exploring his legacy’s larger influence on our society and modern-day views of sexuality.”

For nearly six decades, Hefner kept a tight rein on Playboy. Now, four years after his death, insiders, colleagues, executives and employees are ready to share full story of what life at Playboy was truly like. Across ten hours, “Secrets of Playboy” examines the Playboy empire that was both a beacon of progress and a gateway into a much darker world. With the creation of the brand, Hugh Hefner defined the sexual revolution through the male perspective. His progressive views advanced rights across a wide spectrum of social causes, allowing for the freedom of sexual expression. Yet intertwined with the glossy facade of a brand that seemingly celebrated women was a more sinister reality that for decades allowed nefarious conduct to flourish. The series explores how the Playboy machine was a powerful force that, at its worst, manipulated women in a toxic environment, silencing their voices, pitting them against one another, and opening the door to sexual predators.

“Secrets of Playboy” is produced by Industrial Media’s The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) for A&E Network. IPC’s Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman, and Matt Shanfield serve as executive producers along with Alexandra Dean who is an executive producer, showrunner and director.
