A&E NETWORK TO PREMIERE DOCUMENTARY EVENT “SECRETS OF PLAYBOY” EXPLORING THE DARK REALITY UNDERNEATH THE GLOSSY EXTERIOR OF HUGH HEFNER’S PLAYBOY EMPIRE

SERIES FEATURES EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWS WITH INSIDERS ON ALL LEVELS OF THE PLAYBOY LADDER INCLUDING MIKI GARCIA, HOLLY MADISON, JENNIFER SAGINOR, AND SONDRA THEODORE

SERIES TO PREMIERE EARLY 2022

Los Angeles, CA – August 17, 2021 – A&E Network will premiere the documentary event “Secrets of Playboy” exploring the hidden truths behind the fable and philosophy of the Playboy empire through a modern-day lens. The series delves into the complex world Hugh Hefner created and examines its far-reaching consequences on our culture’s view of power and sexuality. Unravelling the glamourous mythology created by the brand over several decades, the series features archival footage and exclusive interviews with insiders from all facets of the Playboy world, many sharing their stories for the first time. Interviews include former Director of Playmate Promotions Miki Garcia; past girlfriends of Hefner’s including Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and Sondra Theodore; Hefner’s personal valet Stefan Tetenbaum;Bunny Mother PJ Masten; Playboy Mansion West resident Jennifer Saginor; and members of Hefner’s staff and inner circle, including his personal bodyguard and butler. “Secrets of Playboy” premieres in early 2022 on A&E.

“The fantasy world of Playboy has been shrouded in secrecy for decades and we are proud to lift the veil on these long-hidden stories,” said Elaine Frontain Bryant, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for A&E. “Breaking down barriers and exposing the truth, ‘Secrets of Playboy’ is a masterful example of brave storytelling that takes an unflinching look at the personal affects of Hugh Hefner’s empire, while also exploring his legacy’s larger influence on our society and modern-day views of sexuality.”

For nearly six decades, Hefner kept a tight rein on Playboy. Now, four years after his death, insiders, colleagues, executives and employees are ready to share full story of what life at Playboy was truly like. Across ten hours, “Secrets of Playboy” examines the Playboy empire that was both a beacon of progress and a gateway into a much darker world. With the creation of the brand, Hugh Hefner defined the sexual revolution through the male perspective. His progressive views advanced rights across a wide spectrum of social causes, allowing for the freedom of sexual expression. Yet intertwined with the glossy facade of a brand that seemingly celebrated women was a more sinister reality that for decades allowed nefarious conduct to flourish. The series explores how the Playboy machine was a powerful force that, at its worst, manipulated women in a toxic environment, silencing their voices, pitting them against one another, and opening the door to sexual predators.

“Secrets of Playboy” is produced by Industrial Media’s The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) for A&E Network. IPC’s Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman, and Matt Shanfield serve as executive producers along with Alexandra Dean who is an executive producer, showrunner and director. The series is co-directed by Arlene Nelson. Elaine Frontain Bryant, Brad Abramson, and Dolores Gavin serve as executive producers for A&E. A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights for “Secrets of Playboy.”

NARRATED BY BILL KURTIS, “COLD CASE FILES” EXAMINES LONG-UNSOLVED MURDERS AND THE NEW EVIDENCE THAT FINALLY CRACKED THEM

FEATURING NARRATION BY ACTOR DENNIS HAYSBERT, “AMERICAN JUSTICE” RETURNS TO EXPLORE SIGNIFICANT CRIMINAL CASES THROUGH THE PRISM OF THE JUSTICE SYSTEM

NEW YORK, NY -August 5, 2021 – A&E Network’s iconic and acclaimed original true crime classic series “Cold Case Files(R)” and “American Justice(R)” return this summer exploring shocking stories of cold cases and gripping court room trials. Both produced by Category 6 Media(TM) group, “Cold Case Files” premieres Friday, August 20 at 9pm ET/PT followed by “American Justice” at 10pm ET/PT.

“A&E has long been a leader in true crime programming and we are thrilled to bring back two of our original series that defined and shaped the genre,” said Elaine Frontain Bryant, EVP and Head of Programming for A&E. “Both ‘Cold Case Files’ and ‘American Justice’ were beloved when they first premiered, and with more stories to tell, these new iterations continue their legacy of riveting and powerful storytelling at its finest.”

There are over 100,000 cold cases in America, and only about 1% are ever solved. With recent advancements in technology and the methods used to solve these cases, as well as the unwavering dedication of victims’ families, law enforcement and the public, “Cold Case Files” explores the cases the defied the odds. Narrated by the original host and producer of “Cold Case Files,” celebrated veteran journalist and newsman Bill Kurtis, each one-hour episode of the Emmy-nominated series examines the twists and turns of one murder case that remained unsolved for years, and the critical element that heated it up, leading to the evidence that finally solved it. Featuring interviews with family members, friends, detectives, and others close to the cases, the refreshed classic series examines all facets of the crime and shines a light on a range of voices and victims.

Diving even deeper, “Cold Case Files: The Podcast,” hosted by Brooke Gittings (“Convicted” and “Actual Innocence”), has returned for an all-new season to take listeners through the investigative process of some of the most difficult-to-solve murders featured on past seasons of “Cold Case Files.” Visit aetv.com to listen and subscribe. New episodes drop every Tuesday (Apple, Stitcher, Spotify).

Narrated by actor Dennis Haysbert (“24,” “The Unit,”) the newly reimagined and iconic “American Justice” looks at recent criminal cases in the United States through the prism of the criminal justice system, and from the first-hand perspectives of the prosecutors, defense attorneys, investigators, victims and perpetrators involved. The series dives into significant crimes that were adjudicated within the last few years, from trials that made national headlines to gripping lesser-known cases, ensuring that the issues being explored are relevant. Each story reveals how our justice system works, and, sometimes, how it doesn’t. One of the original true crime documentary series, “American Justice” originally aired for 13 years on A&E.

“ACCUSED: GUILTY OR INNOCENT?” SEASON TWO PREMIERES THURSDAY, AUGUST 19

“KIDS BEHIND BARS: LIFE OR PAROLE” SEASON TWO DEBUTS THURSDAY, AUGUST 26

NEW YORK, NY – July 12, 2021 – A&E Network brings back two acclaimed documentary series in August. Season two of “Accused: Guilty or Innocent?” will premiere on Thursday, August 19 at 10pm ET/PT. Season 2 of “Kids Behind Bars: Life or Parole” premieres Thursday, August 26 at 9pm ET/PT.

“Accused: Guilty or Innocent?” follows the dramatic inside stories – as they unfold – of 8 people facing trial for serious crimes they are alleged to have committed. Each claims to be not guilty or that their actions were justifiable, and put their fate into the hands of a jury. Season two of the acclaimed true crime series offers an extraordinary account of what happens when someone is formally charged with a crime and sent to trial – all solely from the perspective of the accused, their legal team and family members. Each episode follows the accused person’s journey through the planning of their legal defense, the trial and, ultimately, awaiting the verdict. As evidence mounts and the trial approaches, these riveting and emotional stories provide an unprecedented look at what happens when your freedom is on the line. Season one of “Accused: Guilty or Innocent?” averaged 1.2M Total Viewers1 and reached a total of 16M Total Viewers2 over the course of its run.

On Thursday, August 12 at 9pm ET/PT, A&E will air a special 2-hour episode of “Accused: Guilty or Innocent” which picks up on the powerful and poignant stories of the accused who were featured in season one. How did life change for the men and women who face the judgement of a jury?

“Kids Behind Bars: Life or Parole” is an original documentary series that tells the individual stories of previously convicted child offenders sentenced to mandatory life terms without parole who are now seeking resentencing, following a United States Supreme Court ruling. While some may be resentenced to life, others could be immediately released or given a new sentence that makes them eligible for parole. Season 2 chronicles the horrific crimes and emotional impact on family and friends as they grapple with the question of whether these convicted offenders could be released back into their communities. Each episode will include exclusive commentary from the convicted offenders directly from prison and family and friends of the victim, as well as leading psychologists, law enforcement, and reporters closest to each case as they provide their own unique perspective on the Supreme Court ruling and how it is impacting each individual case.

“Kids Behind Bars: Life or Parole” averaged 747,000 Total Viewers in its freshman season3 and reached a total of 21M Total Viewers during its freshman run4.

A&E’S NEW DOCUMENTARY SERIES “INVISIBLE MONSTERS: SERIAL KILLERS IN AMERICA” DISSECTS THE CULTURE AND EVENTS THAT ALLOWED FIVE SERIAL KILLERS TO FLOURISH UNCHECKED

PREMIERING SUNDAY, AUGUST 15 AT 9PM ET/PT, NEW SERIES WEAVES TOGETHER THE STORIES OF BUNDY, GACY, DAHMER, THE GREEN RIVER KILLER AND BTK WHO WERE ALL ACTIVELY HUNTING VICTIMS DURING THE SAME TIME PERIOD

NEW SERIES “I SURVIVED A SERIAL KILLER” EXPLORES THE STORIES OF VICTIMS WHO FOUGHT BACK AND LIVED TO TELL THEIR STORIES STARTING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 18 AT 9:30PM ET/PT

New York, NY – June 24, 2021 – A&E Network delves into the stories and circumstances that shaped our collective concept of the modern-day serial killer with the three-night event “Invisible Monsters: Serial Killers in America” beginning Sunday, August 15 at 9pm ET/PT. The limited series will be the first to examine the intersecting paths of five of America’s most notorious killers – Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, The Green River Killer and BTK – who all operated during the same period, across two decades. New series “I Survived a Serial Killer” will explore what it is like to be one of the few people ever to escape from the clutches of a serial predator. The series premieres on Wednesday, August 18 at 9:30pm ET/PT.

Over six hours, “Invisible Monsters: Serial Killers in America” weaves the stories of five infamous serial killers – Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, The Green River Killer and BTK – together into a single narrative exploring the perfect storm of what was happening in culture, communications, law enforcement, media, forensics, and technology that allowed them to proliferate and evade capture. Names that still strike fear into the hearts of many, these seemingly normal men developed disturbingly intimate and hands-on approaches to murder that were at odds with their soft-spoken public existence. Most of our public understanding of the modern serial killer comes from the 20 years that all five men were active. We still struggle to reconcile the uncomfortable dichotomy of monsters hiding in plain sight. The stories of these killers and their victims will be told by those closest to them, including exclusive interviews with survivors, investigators, forensic psychologists, prosecutors, and victims’ family members. View trailer here:

In each 30-minute episode, “I Survived a Serial Killer” documents the harrowing, heroic stories of one or more survivors of the same serial killers. Told from the survivors’ point of view, the series highlights the strength and perseverance of regular people encountering and overcoming pure evil. Interviews with those closest to the cases will round out the stories of these unimaginable crimes. Over the 12-episode series, viewers will hear from survivors of killers including Andrew Urdiales, Richard Beasley (AKA The Craigslist Killer), Angel Resendiz (AKA The Railway Killer) and David Parker Ray (AKA The Toy Box Killer.)

A&E NETWORK’S CANINE COMPETITION SERIES “AMERICA’S TOP DOG” RETURNS FOR TWO NEW BACK-TO-BACK SEASONS HOSTED BY AWARD-WINNING BROADCASTER CURT MENEFEE AND ACTOR DAVID KOECHNER PREMIERING TUESDAY, JUNE 29 AT 8PM ET/PT

CURT MENEFEE ALSO SET TO HOST NEW SERIES “AN ANIMAL SAVED MY LIFE” PREMIERING ON TUESDAY, JULY 6 AT 9PM ET/PT

New York, NY – May 6, 2021 – A&E Network is celebrating man’s best friend this summer with the return of competition series “America’s Top Dog” and the premiere of a new series, “An Animal Saved My Life” both from Big Fish Entertainment. Bringing together working dogs, K9s, and “underdogs,” two new back-to-back seasons of “America’s Top Dog” take the competition to the next level with a new course and more breeds than ever before. New series “An Animal Saved My Life,” showcases extraordinary acts of heroism by animals. The two-hour premiere of “America’s Top Dog” begins Tuesday, June 29 at 8pm ET/PT. “An Animal Saved My Life” premieres with back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, July 6 at 9pm ET/PT.

In each one-hour episode, “America’s Top Dog” features furry friends alongside their handlers facing off on a massive canine obstacle course designed to test their speed, agility, teamwork, and trust as they navigate a series of challenges over two rounds of competition. Award-winning veteran studio and sports broadcaster Curt Menefee (“FOX NFL Sunday,” “The OT”) and actor and comedian David Koechner (“Anchorman,” “The Office”) serve as hosts and break down the action, while sideline reporter Rachel Bonnetta (FOX Sports, “FOX Bet Live”) catches up with the teams down on the course.

Season two introduces a new format with head-to-head match ups, pitting a pup against another competitor in their class across working dogs, police K9s and “underdogs,” for an epic battle to prove who is best. The winners of each of the three classes face-off head-to-head to determine who is that week’s Top Dog. Each week, the winning team will receive a $10,000 cash prize as well as an additional $5,000 to donate to the animal charity of their choice. In the final week of competition, the winning teams return for the ultimate face off for the title of “America’s Top Dog” and an additional $25,000. The competition continues across season three with even more breeds, high-stakes and new rules.

Also hosted by Curt Menefee, “An Animal Saved My Life” showcases amazing acts of heroism from different kinds of animal heroes. Featuring stories ripped from the headlines, viral videos, surveillance footage and interviews with people who have been saved by animal heroes, the series highlights scares and saves that range from heartwarming to adrenaline pumping. Pet owners overwhelmingly think of their cats and dogs as family members who provide emotional support and love, but sometimes animals risk it all to save a human life.

“America’s Top Dog” is produced by Big Fish Entertainment, an MGM company, for A&E Network. Executive Producers for Big Fish Entertainment are Dan Cesareo, Lucilla D’Agostino, Jordana Starr and Holly Wofford.
