The images were also sent to Devins’ family. RUNNING DRY – Water levels on the drought-stricken Colorado River have dropped so low, the federal government declared an official shortage of the precious resource for the first time. As Bill Whitaker reports, resulting water cuts are hitting Arizona hard, and the government says much more conservation is needed. The health of the river is a concern for 40 million people in the West, including Native American tribes and farmers who grow 90% of America’s winter greens. Marc Lieberman is the producer.

HOPE CHICAGO – 60 MINUTES’ Scott Pelley visits Johnson College Prep on Chicago’s South Side, where many students have no permanent home and face violence on their way to school, as they experience a miracle. Pelley sits down with the principal and the students whose lives will be changed forever by Hope Chicago, which funds blanket scholarships for students to attend in-state colleges for free. Nicole Young is the producer.

EUROVISION – 60 MINUTES correspondent Jon Wertheim meets Iceland’s contenders for Eurovision 2022, the world’s largest musical event and a live TV show that’s a cross between the Olympics and “American Idol.” Watched by more than 180 million Europeans each year, the contest features performers from nearly 40 countries who participate in the music competition. Eurovision has boosted the careers of past contestants ABBA, Celine Dion and Julio Iglesias. Nathalie Sommer is the producer.

Delivered 2.6 million viewers, with 430,000 in adults 25-54, for the week, ranking #1 in viewers for the last 23 consecutive weeks (in 44 of 45 weeks FTN aired this season).

Ranked #2 in women 25-54 for the third consecutive week.

Season-to-date is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show in viewers for the second consecutive year (leading NBC by +369,000 viewers).

Is leading NBC for the first time in seven years in the women 25-54 demographic.

60 MINUTES PRESENTS

Was the week’s #2 primetime broadcast in viewers and tied for #1 in adults 18+ (#2 in adults 18+ viewers) on August 7.

CBS MORNINGS

Is the only program to see growth from the same week last year in adults, women and men.

Delivered 2.3 million viewers, with 496,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demo and 302,000 among women 25-54, for the week ending August 5.

Grew the most in the adults 25-54 demo from the prior week, up +1%, while NBC was flat and ABC was down.

Delivered the smallest gap with ABC in the adults 25-54 demo since September 2003.

Has cut into NBC and ABC’s leads for the season in the adults 25-54 demo by 25% and 17%, respectively, versus last year.

Is delivering the tightest gaps in adults and women 25-54 for a season ever (since at least 1991) vs. NBC and ABC.

Held viewers in the adults 25-54 demo for the third consecutive week while the competition continued to erode – NBC fell -3% and ABC fell -3%.

Delivered 4.5 million viewers, with 751,000 of them adults 25-54, for the week ending August 5.

Is delivering the tightest demo gap for the season with NBC in 27 years (since 1994/95) and with ABC since 2018/19.

Delivered 1.7 million viewers, with 276,000 of them in the adults 25-54 demo, on August 6.

Season-to-date has closed the viewer gap with ABC by 8% and with NBC by 4%.

Has closed the gap in the adults 25-54 demo with ABC by 6% and with NBC by 9%.

Is delivering the tightest gaps in the demo with NBC and ABC for a season ever, dating to the “Early Show” days in 1997/98.
