ACORN TV VIEWERS ARE WILD ABOUT HARRY

MURDER MYSTERY SERIES HARRY WILD, STARRING AND EXECUTIVE PRODUCED BY JANE SEYMOUR, RENEWED FOR SECOND SEASON COMING IN 2023
After Delivering the Most Successful Premiere Week Viewership of Any Series In Acorn TV History, Harry Wild is the Most Watched New Series and Most Watched Single Season of any Series on Acorn TV in 2022

New York, NY – August 10, 2022 – Acorn TV, AMC Networks’ acclaimed and fast-growing streaming service devoted to British and international mystery and dramas, today announced that it has renewed its hit series Harry Wild, starring and executive produced by Jane Seymour, for a second season to arrive on the platform next year. Harry Wild delivered the most successful premiere week in the history of Acorn TV when it debuted in early April, and has gone on to be the most successful series launch and most-watched season of any series on Acorn TV in 2022. More than 40 percent of Acorn TV viewers have sampled Harry Wild’s first season.

“I’m so thankful to the Acorn TV audience, the press, and my incredible fans for making season one of Harry Wild such a success,” said Jane Seymour, series star and executive producer. “I was thrilled when I heard how well the show performed. I absolutely love playing Harry. I can’t wait to get back into production and bring everyone eight more Harry and Fergus-filled episodes!”

“We knew this series was special from the beginning and could not be more thrilled by the response of Acorn TV viewers to this first season of Harry Wild and to see the remarkable Jane Seymour leading and producing a thrilling murder mystery on our platform,” said Matt Graham, general manager of Acorn TV. “This series had the most successful premiere week in our history and is already our most-watched single season for 2022, just three months after it arrived. We could not be more excited by the prospect of a second season from Jane and this talented creative team.”

Like season one, the second season of Harry Wild will consist of eight episodes.

Star and co-executive producer Jane Seymour (The Kominsky Method, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, B Positive) stars as Harriet “Harry” Wild, a retiring university literature professor who is finding herself at one of life’s crossroads. In season one, jolted from a mugging, Harry reluctantly agrees to recover in the home of her son, Charlie, played by Kevin Ryan (Guilt, Copper), a senior police detective. Charlie’s family does their best to tolerate Harry’s inscrutable ways, but Harry speaks her mind. Despite Charlie’s strong objections and warnings, Harry starts to interfere in her son’s particularly baffling murder case when she notices the murderer has followed a pattern from an obscure Elizabethan play.

When she successfully catches the killer by putting herself at great risk in the process, she finds a new lust for life. Harry and her protégé, Fergus, played by Rohan Nedd (Whitstable Pearl), the aforementioned mugger and a troubled teen in whom Harry sees great potential where others see only a criminal, quickly find new mysteries to solve. Harry’s expertise at her new passion brings her into direct conflict with Charlie, who needs nothing less than his mother causing trouble at work! The cast includes Stuart Graham (The Fall, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and Amy Huberman (Finding Joy, Striking Out).

A Dynamic Television Production, Harry Wild is executive produced by Jane Seymour, Daniel March, Klaus Zimmermann, James Gibb, Morgan O’Sullivan and James Flynn. Acorn Media Enterprises, the company’s London-based development division, co-produces. Created and written by David Logan.

New York, NY – August 1, 2022 -Award-winning actress Maria Doyle Kennedy (Outlander, Orphan Black, The Tudors, Kin) stars in the dangerously delicious Acorn TV Original mystery drama, Recipes for Love and Murder, premiering Monday, September 5 with two episodes on Acorn TV, AMC Networks’ acclaimed streamer devoted to British and international television. Based on Sally Andrew’s best-selling novels “A Tannie Maria Mystery,” the ten-part series follows a newspaper recipe advice columnist, Tannie Maria (“Auntie Maria” in Afrikaans), who offers guidance and counsel and helps investigate crimes in her small town in the vibrant, beautiful region of the Karoo in South Africa. Two new episodes will premiere weekly every Monday through October 3.

When the local newspaper cuts her recipe column, Tannie Maria (Kennedy) lobbies to take on the role of advice columnist. Things take an unexpected turn when a correspondent who writes to Maria about her abusive husband is found dead. Maria’s worlds collide as she begins working through her own mysterious past trying to solve the case. Maria joins forces with a local, risk-taking, rookie journalist, and sometimes rival, Jessie September (newcomer Kylie Fisher), to investigate the murder and catch the killer — before the local police find more victims. But will they make too many enemies in the process and risk the perpetrator catching them first? Meanwhile, Maria comforts her readers by blending experiential advice with soothing recipes – truly chicken soup for the soul.

The series also stars Tony Kgoroge (Black Sails, Invictus, Long Walk to Freedom) as Chief Detective Khaya Meyer, Elton Landrew as Constable Piet, Arno Greeff as Warrant Officer Regardt Snyman, Jennifer Steyn as newspaper editor Hattie Wilson, and Lee Duru as Grace.

Recipes for Love and Murder is produced by Both Worlds Pictures, in coproduction with M-Net and Acorn Media Enterprises and in collaboration with Pirate Productions and Paradoxal. The series was adapted for television by South African writer/director Karen Jeynes (Puppet Nation, 90 Plein Street), with Scotland-based director/writer Annie Griffin (Avenue 5, Outlander) as story consultant. The co-executive producers are Griffin, director Christiaan Olwagen, and Maria Doyle Kennedy. Watch New Trailer for Three-Part Detective Series Filmed in Italy

Trailer Now Available!

Acorn TV today revealed the official trailer and premiere date for the three-part detective drama series Signora Volpe starring Emilia Fox (Silent Witness, Delicious, The Pianist). Filmed on location in the stunning Lazio and Umbria regions in Italy, this contemporary Acorn TV Original series will make its debut on Monday, May 2 on Acorn TV, AMC Networks’ acclaimed streamer devoted to British and international television. Episodes will continue to debut on Mondays through May 16.

To the casual observer, there’s nothing remarkable about Sylvia Fox (Fox) – an intelligent, confident woman in her forties, she tends to keep quiet about her formidable linguistic abilities, impressive knowledge of weaponry, and skills as a markswoman. Questions about her professional life are met with bland answers about an unspectacular career in the Civil Service. Which is only very slightly true – because until recently, Sylvia was a high-ranking British spy. When Sylvia arrives in Italy for the wedding of her niece Alice, she’s disillusioned with her job at MI6 headquarters in London, and in need of a break. But then the bridegroom disappears, leaving a dead body in the lake at the bottom of his garden, and Sylvia takes it upon herself to solve the mystery and save Alice from disaster.

Despite the unpromising start to her holiday, Sylvia is enchanted by Umbria, the green heart of Italy, and is surprised and pleased to find herself reconnecting with her estranged sister Isabel Vitale (Tara Fitzgerald – Game of Thrones, Belgravia), who lives in the handsome hillside town of Panicale. When she stumbles upon a beautiful, derelict old house, Sylvia decides to buy it, quit her job and start afresh.

But Sylvia was never cut out for a quiet life and finds herself involved in a bevy of fresh mysteries – from the disappearance of a young woman a quarter of a century ago, to the theft of a truffle pig, and a blackmail plot against the son of a Russian politician. At first, Carabinieri Captain Giovanni Riva (Giovanni Cirfiera – American Crime Story; The Assassination of Gianni Versace, Queen of the South) resents Sylvia’s interference, but he soon begins to seek her help.

Rachel Cuperman (Midsomer Murders) and Sally Griffiths (Midsomer Murders) serve as creators, writers, and executive producers. Josie Law (The Disappearance of Alice Creed and Albatross), Marc Samuelson (Tom & Viv), Dudi Appleton (The Most Fertile Man) and Emilia Fox also serve as executive producers, with Mark Brozel (Troy: Fall Of A City) and Appleton as directors, and Patricia Rybarczyk (Tango One) as producer.
