“World News Tonight” has won the last 192 of 193 weeks in Total Viewers and 121 of the last 123 in Adults 25-54 (including the last 52 weeks/1 year).

“Good Morning America” ranked as the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers (2.962 million) and Adults 25-54 (633,000) for the week of Aug. 1, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA” took the top sport for the week in Adults 25-54 for the 4th week running and for the 12th time in the last 14 weeks.

“GMA” outdelivered “Today” (2.682 million and 631,000, respectively) by 280,000 Total Viewers. In fact, “GMA” increased its lead on the NBC program from the previous week in Total Viewers by 63% (vs. 172,000).

“GMA” was up over the previous week in Total Viewers (+1% – 2.962 million vs. 2.941 million), standing as the only morning newscast to grow its overall audience week to week.

Season to date, “GMA” (3.280 million) is ranking as the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers for the 10th year in a row, more than doubling its lead over NBC’s “Today” (3.059 million) at the same point last season (+108% – 221,000 vs. 106,000) to its largest in 7 years — since the 2014-2015 season.

In addition, “GMA” is cutting its season margin with “Today” in Adults 25-54 by more than half (-54% – 40,000 vs. 87,000) to its closest performance in 7 years — since the 2014-2015 season.

During the week, “GMA” (2.962 million, 633,000 and 416,000, respectively) beat “CBS Mornings” (2.260 million, 496,000 and 299,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+702,000), Adults 25-54 (+137,000) and Adults 18-49 (+117,000).

Driven by “The Bachelorette” and “Claim to Fame,” ABC’s Monday was the highest-rated night of the week in Adults 18-49 (0.8/8), tying NBC’s Tuesday night (0.8/8).
