Benetti began honing his broadcasting chops early on, calling football games for his high school radio station. He continued with play-by-play duties throughout his time in college and law school, ultimately holding roles with several regional broadcast networks, including Westwood One, Time Warner Cable Sports, the BIG EAST Conference and the Syracuse Chiefs.

The Illinois native graduated from Syracuse University in 2005 with bachelor’s degrees in broadcast journalism, economics and psychology. He went on to earn his J.D. at Wake Forest School of Law in 2011.
