2021 MTV “VMAs” Adds Normani To Sunday’s Lineup

Multi-platinum selling and chart topping recording artist Normani has been announced as the latest performer to hit the stage at the 2021 MTV “VMAs.” Hosted by entertainment megastar Doja Cat, the show airs LIVE from Barclays Center on Sunday, September 12 at 8PM ET/PT on MTV.
The superstar songstress and entertainer returns to the “VMAs” stage with a show-stopping TV debut performance of her hit single “Wild Side”.
Normani last shut down the “VMAs” in 2019 with a hard-hitting performance of “Motivation” which set the internet ablaze. That same year also saw Normani take home her first Moonperson for “Best R&B” for her smash hit single “Waves” ft. 6lack

Normani continues to make her mark in the industry. She joined Ariana Grande on her Sweetner World Tour, performed at festivals such as Lollapalooza, and performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Billboard Music Award with 6lack and Khalid respectively. She’s graced multiple magazine covers including Rolling Stone, Billboard, FADER, Cosmopolitan, Teen Vogue, Wonderland, Women’s Health Magazine, ALLURE and more. Normani’s scope has no bounds; she emerged into the beauty/fashion world being named Urban Decay’s Global Citizen and a Brand Ambassador for Savage X Fenty, where she was also featured in their exclusive fashion show on Amazon Prime. Normani is signed to Keep Cool/RCA Records and is managed by Brandon Silverstein (S10 Entertainment, Management Division). Her recent hit track “Wild Side” follows Normani’s show stopping single “Motivation,” which she performed on the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs),and her two top 40 #1 smash hit collaborations “Love Lies” with Khalid and “Dancing with a Stranger” with Sam Smith. The 2021 “VMAs,” hosted by entertainment megastar Doja Cat, will air LIVE on Sunday, September 12 at 8PM ET/PT on MTV.
PERFORMERS: The following artists have been previously announced as part of this year’s must-see lineup: Camila Cabello, Chlöe, Doja Cat, Justin Bieber, Kacey Musgraves, Lil Nas X, Machine Gun Kelly, Shawn Mendes, Olivia Rodrigo and Twenty One Pilots. Additional performers recently announced include: Jack Harlow, The Kid LAROI, Ozuna and Tainy.

GLOBAL ICON AWARD: The legendary Foo Fighters will receive the first-ever MTV “VMAs” Global Icon Award at this year’s show. The band will also perform at this year’s show, marking their return to the “VMAs” stage for the first time since 2007 (more info).
NOMINATIONS: Justin Bieber (9) Megan Thee Stallion, BTS and Giveon (7 each) lead this year’s nominations, closely followed by Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo and Cardi B (6 each), Drake and Dua Lipa (5 each). Full nominee list here.

PRESENTERS: MTV has unveiled the star-studded list of presenters for the 2021 MTV “VMAs”. The lineup includes: Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, AJ McLean, Ashanti, Avril Lavigne, Billie Eilish, Billy Porter, Conor McGregor, Cyndi Lauper, Fat Joe, Hailey Bieber, Halle Bailey, Ja Rule, Lance Bass, Megan Fox, Nick Lachey, Rita Ora, Simone Biles, and Travis Barker.

PRE-SHOW: Kim Petras, Swedish House Mafia and Polo G are set to perform during the 2021 “VMAs” Pre-Show 2021 airing LIVE on Sunday, September 12 at 6:30PM ET/PT on MTV. Hosted by Nessa Diab and Jamila Mustafa, the 90-minute event will feature coverage from music superstar TINASHE who is stepping in as the special, celebrity correspondent.
