CBS NEWS’ “CBS SUNDAY MORNING” ENDS 2020 AS AMERICA’S #1 SUNDAY MORNING NEWS PROGRAM FOR THE 626TH CONSECUTIVE WEEK
CBS News’ CBS SUNDAY MORNING finished 2020 by marking its 626th consecutive week as the #1 Sunday morning news program.
The broadcast delivered 5.6 million viewers with 958,000 of them in the adult 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Dec. 27.
Lee Cowan anchored Sunday’s broadcast which featured CBS SUNDAY MORNING’s annual year-end “Hail and Farewell,” a celebration of those we lost in 2020 – familiar faces who have touched our lives in ways big and small. Cowan also payed tribute to some of those we’ve lost due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Also on the broadcast, David Pogue reported on some of the overshadowed bright spots of the past year. Dr. Jon LaPook highlighted some of the medical professionals who, having come face to face with COVID-19, saved lives while putting their own in jeopardy. Susan Spencer looked at how, in light of the pandemic and months of changing and cancelled plans, planning for the future may never be the same. CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY co-host Michelle Miller offered her personal thoughts on grief.
Additionally, Mo Rocca looked back at the life and legacy of Sy Sperling, colorful founder of the Hair Club for Men. And religious leaders from different faiths offered comforting perspective on the holiday season.
