About Episode 2 “Murder in the Snow”
On December 15, 1984, the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin received an emergency call. A resident had made a gruesome discovery in their driveway, the body of a young woman who had been beaten brutally to death. Her murder sent shockwaves throughout the county and a major police investigation was launched with hundreds of suspects eliminated. However, in 2019, detectives determined to find the killer, turned to a new ground-breaking DNA method.
“Murder in the Snow” is the story of the random and brutal killing of Traci Hammerberg, how the perpetrator evaded detection for decades and how his identity was eventually uncovered by the Bloodline Detectives – 27 years later.
Episode 2 will be airing this weekend October 9, 10, 11.
About BLOODLINE DETECTIVES
BLOODLINE DETECTIVES takes viewers behind the scenes of cold cases as detectives solve years-old murder investigations using two kinds of technology: genetic genealogy and familial searching. Detectives can harness these techniques to pinpoint an unknown criminal’s relatives and then trace their “bloodline” or family tree to reveal the killer, as used in high-profile cases such as The Golden State Killer and The Grim Sleeper.
